Great video Simon, purchased the course last night and have watched the first 5 lessons. So far i am happy with the purchase. You bring your usual high energy, and bring some thought provoking ideas on openings and how to build a stable repertoire.
Hi Simon, 2 weeks ago i could draw a simultan game against the german GM Niclas Huschenbeth thanks of your black lion DVD from chessbase!!! ( My Elo is 1800) Today i downloaded your 16 hour course and work with it. Thank you. Your brilliant teacher.
Thank you Simon! Always like you explainations! Some time ago I suddenly realized (really just felt) your ideas of gambiting a pawn for more active pieces and it allowed me to win a few games ))
Simon, you're awesome. you're exactly right, if someone is cheating then you're just honing your abilities and teaching us at the same time. the other half of the reason you're the best is that you're hilarious.
I just purchased the DEE VEE DEE Simon! I know lesson 1 is the opening 1.h4! can't wait to see what else is in store! Just for reference I am currently rated 1796. Lets see where I am at by the end of the year!
Another outstanding and instructive video. I actually play this line so it was very helpful to get some ideas. Thank you for everything you do for chess players all around the world. Cheers!
I wish I had some money to buy your products cuz I am sure they are absolutely brilliant, It is easy to see from your videos on youtube :D But these vidoes are educational enough anyways! thanks! XD " BUY THE DEVEDEEEEEEE "
Well i havent bought any DEVEDE from Simon as i dont buy chess dvd's in general, but that teaser i have seen from course was pretty disapointing material. I don't want cut down Simon customers but want to be fair as well to other viewers. So in general from teaser i have seen i would say that for sb who is seeking sth revolutionary he wont find it there. Technically though it's fine and entertaining material, just price as for sth extraordinary which it isn't (without discount).
thanks for this video. I bought the course and look forward to going over it. Hope you are feeling better after last night's stream. I stayed with you for like 7 hours..lol
oceansilver Yes. He missed that tactic, but it's easy to miss, and I imagine if he did a little more post-game analysis, he'd have been like, "Oh gwod, would have blundered tha twun!"
Dear Simon, at 22:22 what is wrong with pushing the e pawn to e4? If he pushes his F pawn it restricts his bishop even more and/or if he takes gives you a nice solid pawn on e4 backed by the knight with an open f file for your rook ( my line of thought) what are your thoughts on not considering this?
sir I watched ur classical Dutch series on chess.com. It was very instructional, the pawn structure that black is trying to achieve, general plans from black the important squares that should be under scrutiny , basically everything was so good. always find myself in a good position, but my inability to convert on the advantage pisses me off every time.
Hey Simon, love your videos and I bought your dvd :) It will be an honour for me if you want to play a long game like in the video with me. I'm about 1800 on chess.com and will not cheat 😁
14:35 if u hadn't played Nd7, then he'd have pushed c5, and after d6xc5, d4xc5, b6xc5, he'll win a your bishop with his rook. in case you don't recapture with pawn, he will be a pawn up
My only complaint with these videos is that maybe you need to learn the coordinates better(?!). Haha, you always just seem to calculate, and then voice your calculation via "Okay, so if here, here, here, he takes here, takes, here, I go here, here, and I don't really like that position.", where obviously we have no idea what you just calculated. Other than that, excellent series!
Maciej Bucz Well I cannot speak on the behalf of others, but just me, personally, in regards to Timothy beating Samy48 a couple of times, well, I don't think I could care less about anything in the universe, chess-related or otherwise. I do care though, that you were able to highlight this crime against humanity from this despicable vile monster of a man, Timothy, wasting myriads of poor souls' precious time.
That plot twist at 32:17 was just amazing. Poor guy probably watched a Tigran Petrosian video and had a "hold my beer" moment.
A real game? Unbelievable!
No cheats today! Awesome!

hey Casey . Do you play on chess.com ? i want to challenge you to a chess game .
This series is lovely and you are super fun to watch - and hopefully learn from!

You helped me a lot, sir. Thank you so much. Keep up the good work.

Thank you Simon! Your style is fantastic!

Your comment is a shocker, Don. Reconsider, please.
Great game, Simon!

Great vids Simon! Could you please make a video on the Dutch defence against white queen side castling?
When the white queen was f2, you could win the exchange with Ra5, if he moves Rb4, Nd3 wins the exchange from the fork of his queen and rook.
28:16 "If I ever go ...Ra4, he goes Rb4." Couldn't white just sac the
exchange (Rxc5) and Simon's rook is hanging? What am I missing?
oceansilver Yes. He missed that tactic, but it's easy to miss, and I imagine if he did a little more post-game analysis, he'd have been like, "Oh gwod, would have blundered tha twun!"
Good Luck at Kings Place!!
If one were to buy a physical copy ofyour course and in a year or so find one self in London, do you think one would be able to get it signed?

I did notice that you considered this at the 24 mark.... thoughts
Hi Simon, did you play Titled Tuesday you mentioned few days ago, and a match against Danny, when will you upload it on youtube channel? Thnx :)
32:18 highlight
These are excellent videos, Ginger! My standard rating on chess.com is about 1900 so if you ever want to play a long game, I'd be honored.
Simon I noticed you have an attacking version of most mainline openings except for E4-E5. Any "spicy" lines you recommend here?
Rex Tavello duh he recommends kings gambit F4!
Good video

I've played Samy48 a couple times. I believe I beat him fairly easily.
Timothy Mayes not sure if anyone cares about that
