I was born in 1938 and this, together with the 83, were my local buses. In those days the 52 went as far as Mill Hill. From the age of four or five I travelled alone on this bus from Church Lane, Kingsbury to a small convent school in Burnt Oak. I remember being turfed off the bus at Kingsbury Green during an air raid. The siren on the Green and was terrifyingly loud. I could see the grownups were clearly frightened and no one gave me a second glance’.

The 52 went to Mill Hill as relatively recently as the 80s and early 90s.
