I’m convinced that if Marvel 2 had the longevity of say Melee, you’d see Dhalsim and other characters become “viable competitive characters” the same way Yoshi and Pikachu are now in Melee.
I don't understand why it doesn't. Beside being really hard to find I guess.
@@kirkcavenaugh758 It's been having a bit of a resurgence, but yes it being tied to Fightcade, Dreamcast, and 1UP arcade only hurts it.
I have been watching BigOne casuals and tournaments streams for a few years now and honestly the level of play there is just insane. Thank you for not only going and playing but also helping get the word out and streaming their matches.
Yes their streams are very enjoyable. Particularly with Mitsu or Kamitani

MvC2 Dhalsim is so fun to watch. If only he wasn't so fragile I may have learned to play him.

The main reason to use rocket punch assist is because Dhalsim can get near full screen confirms into damaging combos. If not 100%-300% combos (the potential is there, i showcase some of it in my content and I'm always fine tuning it).
Aside from that, with Rocket Punch assist Dhalsim can literally K.O. most characters with just 1 reset. Especially vs Storm it's super easy cause of her lower health. Short short RP launch sj hp addf j lk land into any of multiple 4 way mix-up options (6 way if near corner) into short short RP dash up yoga strike (inescapable) Storm is done.
I also thought he was gonna do a yoga blast punish on your cyclops. That's what i would've done. Can cancel to yoga inferno too.
Also Dhalsim can't really be guard broken. He can teleport out of any guard break attempt for free. He also can't really be unblockabled by Sentinel due to his drills. Or he can straight up beat the attempt with j hp if close enough.
Kamitani missed out on some damage potential particularly with his launches only into sj hk adf j hk. when he could've done even a basic combo into either of his supers, if not more damaging combos.
Also you don't want to take the hit on that Sentinel rocket punch guard break because sentinel can link an extended combo after the initial Rocket punch hits 😂
hey man, I have watched your videos years ago and i think your Dhalsim is better than the Japanese guy.Justin isn't as knowledgeable as you are with Dhalsim, i know you can get big damage with Dhalsim, I also love the music in your Dhalsim matches
@@dawicked2k8 thanks man, appreciate it. I actually started playing mvc2 again last year and have been leveling up my Dhalsim again and am constantly optimizing. If you haven't seen them yet, I have a bunch of new content since years (a decade) ago

Lol Justin and I have played each other quite a bit throughout the years. Though most of that was before I started playing dhalsim. Or it was when I was technically in retirement so I could barely remember how to play magneto & iron Man let alone try to derust with sim @@wafflebroz

Man I wanna learn Kamitani's team now.. been watching some Dhalsim in this game already and the awareness to get Storm the second you get a hit on her won him the match. This may not do much in practice when you're in bracket against Magneto and he just infinity snaps your whole team but it looks sick, lol.

Yes I mentioned that in my comment. They've definitely fully explored it and taking the hit is definitely much worse

Gonna be honest Dhalsim in general is really strong right now especially in Street Fighter 6 they just need to have a strong grasp of his tech!
The main reason why Dhalsim isn't everywhere is due the fact he's an advanced character!

I really love playing mvc with my friends, but I cant ever imagine enjoying this game on an advanced level. It's just non stop superjumping around to build meter, specially for the ones that can fly
It sounds like any top player would be able to have their way with you without any meter usage whatsoever.

1:26 Sentinel is the main gatekeeper of this game.
If a character has too much trouble against Sentinel and has almost 0 answers, that character is not top tier, even though it can have good matchups against other top tiers

Name what Capcom character's the best in MvC2 if it's not Dhalism. You know, one that isn't used for assist only, and one that's in the same level as them top tier marvel characters.

@@AnhDonoistrider is even more dependant on a few specific assists than dhalsim imo. Like one on one dhalsim overall more dangerous and more options imo. Not to mention his infinite runaway off the top of the screen as an option.
I don't think strider is for sure better. But it is pretty close.
