- Buckle up, folks! We are driving today through NYC's wealthiest suburb, Greenwich, CT.
In terms of area, Greenwich is twice the size of Manhattan. The U.S. Census Bureau recognizes nine CDPs within the town: Byram, Cos Cob, Glenville, Indian Field, Old Greenwich, Pemberwick, Riverside, Rock Ridge and the Greenwich CDP covering the historic municipal center of the town.
Greenwich has with a median household income of $721,550. In recent decades, the town has attracted wealthy expats from around the globe due to its extremely low tax rate, school system, and proximity to Manhattan, which is only 10 minutes away by helicopter and 45 minutes on MetroNorth.
The median value for a single-family home in town was $2.2 million in 2021. The coastal neighborhood of Belle Haven, along with Backcountry, have some of the wealthiest single family real estate in the world. In 2014, the highest asking price for a residential property in town was the Copper Beach Estate at $190 million. It later sold for $120 million.

Haha it was a little frightening - especially because I was driving through a private neighborhood, so I definitely wasn't supposed to be there. Oh well!

Wow! I have a lifetime of memories oF Greenwich, from the late 1930s to today. I’m stuck in NYC now, but can still attend church there on UA-cam. Thank you for screening!

I’m 87. I was raised in Orange, but my aunt and uncle, and four cousins, lived in Old Greenwich. We loved the red dogwoods in the spring. And then, my wife and I bought a condo there in 1984, when I joined the church.

It is my dream to drive to Greenwich CT from my hometown of Cleveland OH. Spend a week driving through the beautiful streets, finding mansion tours, shopping and meeting little old rich ladies who express an interest in why I'm there. Staying at different cute little hotels including two nights at the Homestead Inn in Belle Haven. Taking pictures, visiting the beaches and parks, maybe even spot a celebrity or two. I am obsessed with the old world charm in the historic homes both quaint and grand. I'm an artist and have been drawing a map of the city on a huge piece of paper with the help of Google maps. I'm hoping someone in Greenwich will be interested in it. I'm wondering if I can contact their historical society. Hmmm. Anyway, thank you for this video...it was the next best thing! Let's keep our fingers crossed that I make the trip next Spring 😉

I respect the wealthy as the ones who keep the country employed. It's why I do what I do.
So wrong people who live in Connecticut we don't consider NYC suburb is greenwich at all! We view greenwich as the wealthiest suburb in Connecticut!

Haha, perhaps I went at a not so ideal time. On weekends, Greenwich Avenue is heavily populated.
Greenwich CT. CAN NOT be a suburb of NYC since it is IN CT. simple logic is needed here or simply google its location for directions
Hey James, while technically in CT, most people consider Greenwich a suburb of NYC since there is a large population of people who commute into the city.
@@WalkWithMeNYC Hi Ok but in reality people's considerations - opinions are their own as some say that Stamford is a mini NYC but in this context it's misleading to actually post that Greenwich, CT. is part of NYC
My cousin live in big house in Greenwich, Connecticut. I live in central CT.
This is kind of a silly comment. Is Port Chester a suburb of NYC? Greenwich is right over the state line.
