I guess if I want to enjoy a live concert I have to go to Chile. It’s such a terrific thing to hear a singer play for an audience that is quiet, reverent, respectful. Especially during a song so beautiful as this.

What an amazing gift this man has. His songs are as fresh and as moving as they were 5 decades ago. What an inspiration he is - and a man of principle too.

My dearly departed never told me that he loved me until the very last time I saw him. He hugged me, told me he loved me and I'll see you in two weeks. He had a heart attack just before he got home. He never needed to say that he loved me. He'd shown me in so many ways, big and small. I never doubted for a second that he loved me. At his wake all I heard was "you must be Barry's Eileen"; he talked about you all the time". You see he lived 10 hours away from me and I didn't know that many of his friends. To say that I was blown away is an understatement. Even after he passed he continued to show me how much he loved me. This was a song that hits so close to home.
Your story moved me to tears. I also had a very special experience with my loved one the day he later died of sudden heart stillstand. Oh God, these things that happen and then again love is always there. Wish you well

There was no better music than the 1970s...The Young in Music need to learn this fact. I used to listen to this song in the early 70s, when dating my now husband. We've been together for 50 years. Love continues strong, and this song confirms.

I was one of those chilean fans who replied to Yusuf's question before he came. One of the songs I chose was this one, which appeared on the first album I ever listened by Cat Stevens: 'Teaser and the Firecat'. It was like going back in time. Thank you, Yusuf.
It was because of him that I started playing guitar; I had all of his albums and guitar book. His songs fed my teenage heart through those turbulent years and I identified with every one. Singing his songs (as well as those of Linda Ronstadt) motivated me to join a band in the '70's as the "girl singer". Yes, that what we were called back then - and I'm still singing. So glad he came back to perform again, and God bless him and his beautiful family.
Laurie the first songs I learned to play on guitar were Cat's songs...he inspired me to become a musician, albeit it not a great one but I'm certainly passionate about music. His songs are timeless.

I first heard his music when I was 16 and loved it then. Now I hear an extra depth of soulfulness....! He wrote so many outstanding songs, each one uniquely crafted and performed. I’ve just gone back to 1971 when I was a flight attendant with Eastern. I had so many of Cat Stevens records, especially Tea for the Tiller Man. Will never forget that Christmas. I was on call and they didn’t need me, but couldn’t release me for the holidays. I cried and cried that Christmas Eve while listening to Cat Stevens, James Taylor, Carole King, all those make you cry singers!

I never listened to this as a love song, but one of love lost. A sad, melancholic song that accesses part of my soul like nothing else. I lost my wife in December 2022 to cancer, so this is now my song to her.

I was born in 1975 and I listened to Cat Stevens all through my teen years and still today, at age 45. I fell in love with his sweet voice, his angelic countenance, and his deep spirituality. There will never be another like him. I’m a vocalist too and his music touched my life in so many ways, so many huge life transitions. I love you, Yusuf. Thank you for being such a huge part of my life. Just now finding my true love and soulmate and got him to listen to this song. We are both singers and met online on a singing app. He is in England and I’m in America. We will be together, no doubt. He is my journey’s end. I love you, Steve.
