How is it possible that age has not taken away, but enhanced his musicianship? His music touches the soul like very few artists do.
Indeed
I saw him in my home town, Toronto - at Massey hall. When he did this and the wind and moon shadow … there wasn’t a dry eye in the venue. My God Yusuf, you’re so shy and humble, I don’t think you even understand how much these songs mean to us. Thank you and God bless.
I guess if I want to enjoy a live concert I have to go to Chile. It’s such a terrific thing to hear a singer play for an audience that is quiet, reverent, respectful. Especially during a song so beautiful as this.
Isn't this just the most beautiful song I love every chord and every word Hits hard though especially at the moment Jenny xx
2024 I am listening to
this lovely song. I am
thinking of my mother
who I miss terribly.
Always my favorite Cat song. Can’t believe he hadn’t sung this in 30 years. Thanks to the audience for making this song their top concert request.
It cant be true
If possible better than 30 years ago. His delivery holds a different understanding of the words and his voice is so warm and rich!
What an amazing gift this man has. His songs are as fresh and as moving as they were 5 decades ago. What an inspiration he is - and a man of principle too.
Inspiring you to murder? He’s not Cat, don’t be fooled by his performance.
Where have I been the 52 years? Stumbled onto this gem by Accident
He was always humble. His albums comforted me. Haunted me consoled me. Made me smile. Made me cry. Made me angry. For 50 some years. I love him.
I love your comment. I think the song is about love that can never be reached but we can't stop reaching. God bless you.
No wonder why he became a muslim, the peace in his songs is so assuring.
I never listened to this as a love song, but one of love lost. A sad, melancholic song that accesses part of my soul like nothing else. I lost my wife in December 2022 to cancer, so this is now my song to her.
Yusuf/Cat's voice is as good now as when he was young. Absolutely amazing. He and his music will always be loved.
My dearly departed never told me that he loved me until the very last time I saw him. He hugged me, told me he loved me and I'll see you in two weeks. He had a heart attack just before he got home. He never needed to say that he loved me. He'd shown me in so many ways, big and small. I never doubted for a second that he loved me. At his wake all I heard was "you must be Barry's Eileen"; he talked about you all the time". You see he lived 10 hours away from me and I didn't know that many of his friends. To say that I was blown away is an understatement. Even after he passed he continued to show me how much he loved me. This was a song that hits so close to home.
Your story moved me to tears. I also had a very special experience with my loved one the day he later died of sudden heart stillstand. Oh God, these things that happen and then again love is always there. Wish you well
Wish you well... I love your story 😭😭😭
@Jaime Richards i totally agree, music is really magical 💓💓💓
God bless you
I'm crying my eyes out reading your comment. He must have loved you so much, you were truly blessed.
To hear this song after all those years , was so moving ... tears fell as I listened , The most beautiful love song that has ever been written...
Sandra Kral still great song and gave harmonious impact...
Absolutely best love song
I agree 💯 he is just as friggen good young or old Muslim or whatever
Is there a person in the world that isn't in love with Cat Stevens the Islamic Muslim that the republicans banned from our country from 2004-2006. Yah!!! That kinda tells you how fucking bat-shit crazy the GOP is! Cat Stevens is hated by republican men cause he doesn't need the REPUBLICAN DRUG OF CHOICE >------>VIAGRA!
Cat Stevens a man of peace
There was no better music than the 1970s...The Young in Music need to learn this fact. I used to listen to this song in the early 70s, when dating my now husband. We've been together for 50 years. Love continues strong, and this song confirms.
Confirmed
How many men would like to send this to their first love?
When I closed my eyes... I was back in the early 70's and funny thing is.. his voice has not changed at all.. loved him then.. and still love him today
I'm right there with you baby.
I has not changed! I saw him in Los Angeles 4 years ago my husband couldn't believe his voce! I'm still in love with his music.
Same thought!! God, did we miss him!
Me top
me too. my kindered- sprit . stay- safe
I always cry when I hear this song. Just beautiful .........
Only have a million views? The world still has not deserved Cat!
I am as much in love with you today as I was 50 years ago when I was a simple teenage girl. I dreamed then that when I grew up I would marry you and listen to that beautiful voice for the rest of my days. Bless you for the gift you've always shared with us.
I do too....I'm 59 now!
Me too
Me three 💙
@@connielee2797 same here - 59 now!
Cat is still up with the best. His voice hasn't changed, brilliant
He’s not Cat, Cat died a long time ago. He’s a brainwashed man who advocates murder and barbarity, don’t be fooled by his soft voice and hypnotic charm he’s a murderer in disguise.
He's a musician mate, I know what religion he is, His choice.
Absolute musical genius right there! Ranks very highly in my all time favourite songs and IS the most moving and beautiful LOVE ballad of all time 💖
My brother, we are all brothers and sisters... Color is only the veil of the soul... l wish we could see the best in each person we meet... I pray for peace and love for each person in the world... Look for the best in your brother and you shall find that precious gem... Thank you for singing the inspirational songs l grew up with... Peace out ALOHA
The most wonderful love song ever sang on earth
This song goes out to my grandparents. I sure do miss them.
How can anybody dislike this masterpiece????????
Que hermoso recuerdo de juventud y discotecas precioso 💖 💕 ♥ 😍
THE LEGEND they don,t make music like this anymore
I can't get enough of listening to this song. It is so beautiful. And although so many years have passed, Yusuf / Cat Stevens' voice remains delightful to our ears. Thank you Yusuf/Cat Stevens!!!! Love you.
It was because of him that I started playing guitar; I had all of his albums and guitar book. His songs fed my teenage heart through those turbulent years and I identified with every one. Singing his songs (as well as those of Linda Ronstadt) motivated me to join a band in the '70's as the "girl singer". Yes, that what we were called back then - and I'm still singing. So glad he came back to perform again, and God bless him and his beautiful family.
Laurie the first songs I learned to play on guitar were Cat's songs...he inspired me to become a musician, albeit it not a great one but I'm certainly passionate about music. His songs are timeless.
Maestro de la vida!!!!!!, como me hiciste creer en la vida y el amor con tus canciones......
Weren't the 70's just totally awesome. What a great place to be.
Dave Hamman F***ing A !!!
We were very fortunate to grow up in that era
Dear cat your music saved my soul may your heart sour with the eagles for you and me
Yes but the sixties were so much better Rock on
I wish I could go to the 70's on holidays...
It's 2020 and I have been walking this Earth for almost fifty years... This is one of the top three most powerful love songs I have ever experienced (more than just listened)! ❤
Qué belleza. Qué agradecidos de tener a Cat Stevens.
Listening to this has just melted my heart and brought tears to my eyes. What a gifted songwriter and stellar singer Cat is. Awesomely moving and heartfelt performance. I first heard his music when I was 16 and loved it then. Now I hear an extra depth of soulfulness....! He wrote so many outstanding songs, each one uniquely crafted and performed. He's not just a star, he's a whole galaxy. 💕
My dad's very ill and this song is for him right now😢 thank you and I want you all to know he's a star ❤
Beautiful and touching song. May Allah Bless you always.
I think this is the most beautiful song I've ever heard
Shivers still. I’m 73
I've loved him since the 60's when I was a kid.
Cat Stevens....Possibly more than anyone who has ever written and sung love songs, you CAN find the right words to say. I am thankful for this and many other songs from you that have been with me for many, many years.
Heard him talk on the radio this Monday June 15 2020 , it was like hearing an old friend talking to me , so nice ,,
One of the best songs ever written ❤❤❤❤
Indeed
This song was so special to me back in 1974 and I still feel the same emotion when I hear it and think of the young man that said this to me all those years ago. When I was something to behold and so was he.
I was one of those chilean fans who replied to Yusuf's question before he came. One of the songs I chose was this one, which appeared on the first album I ever listened by Cat Stevens: 'Teaser and the Firecat'. It was like going back in time. Thank you, Yusuf.
The world always loves Yusuf Cat Stevens. May God bless you Yusuf Cat Stevens.
I think God has.
There will never be another you Yusuf/Cat Stevens ! ✌🙏❤🎼🎵🎶💋💋
I’ve just gone back to 1971 when I was a flight attendant with Eastern. I had so many of Cat Stevens records, especially Tea for the Tiller Man. Will never forget that Christmas. I was on call and they didn’t need me, but couldn’t release me for the holidays. I cried and cried that Christmas Eve while listening to Cat Stevens, James Taylor, Carole King, all those make you cry singers!
It sounds like you were in the company of Good Friends. I love all 3 of those.
Tastes in your pick of Artists are perfect choices...I have also these as my forever best of all time picks . I find us a rare breed in this era. Happy NEW Yr to you and Yours. Ringading in the new 2021. ✌🎶🎸👍
All my favorites enjoy the gift we have to listen to this....
@@dianakenealy8573I’m only 8 months late telling you Happy New Year! I think we need to push for a little better year come 2022! I don’t know why I didn’t catch your comment earlier but better now than never!
No change to the voice, so very soothing and mellow, wow. Always a pleasure to listen to. Thank you Yusuf.
To be played at my passing or my beautiful wifes passing.
We have listened to this , for the thirty years we have been together, sharing a glass of wine and smiling.
We were young, and now getting much older, and the day will come too soon, that one of us will stand and listen to this and no longer be able to reach out and touch each others hands no more.
My boyfriend who has been through 70s sent me this in Valentine’s Day 2021. I feel so in loved so sweet 👩❤️👨
I will be dancing with my first born daughter on Friday at her wedding. I can't imagine a more beautiful tribute to love.
When we did our father and daughter dance there wasn't a dry eye in the house. Thank you Yusuf!
Yusuf Islam alias Cat Stevens - your inspiration touched my heart when I was 16 y.o.a and nothing changes. Your music and songs continue to inspire me. You are such a beautiful human being. Unique beyond many people. Do not let anyone take this from you. You always have the right words to say! Thank you from the depth of my heart.

My eyes are damp... Loved and listened to this man and his music for 48 years 💝💖😍💚💜💙
This song always brought me to tears. He was one of the greatest song writer ever! I had a huge crush on him as a teenager! Not bad on the eyes!
I stopped in my tracks the first time I heard this song. Played it for my Cousin and she loved it so much she had it in her Wedding. Cat's still got the voice after all these years!
One of my all time favorite artist and song.....
I have loved Cat Stevens since 1967 with his first hit record ‘Matthew and Son’, a total master of his craft.

Still the most heart touching song ever . I dedicated this to my wife that I lost to cancer . We grew up on cat stevens in Santa Cruz , cal . Yes we where hippies. I was 12 yrs old when this song came out , now at 61 years old I listen to his wisdom from his songs and yes the tears do flow . And also the spiritual nature of his wisdom and time . Thank you god for putting a man like cat stevens on this planet , amen
I am sorry about your wife. I hope music helps you in some small way.
Thank you for your music! Was with me always in good and bed time; specialy in bed times... You could heal my pain... Respect & Love Yusuf!🎩💕🌹🌹🌹
My memories of living in Santiago Chile back in the 1970's always include Cat Stevens.
I chose How can I Tell You for the first dance with my daughter at her wedding last summer. Thank you.
Gracias, saludos desde Santa Marta, Magdalena, Colombia.
He is still incredibly talented and that talent has not faded in the least after all these years.
Thank you Yusaf for being YOU!!! Your fans from the 70's Glad I got to meet you in 1975...... I am the person I am today because of your encouragement
I wish I had seen this man in concert. There has never been anyone to compare to him.
More beautiful than ever.
"I love you" are the right words. When we are afraid they're not enough, we are afraid that we are not enough.
I was born in 1975 and I listened to Cat Stevens all through my teen years and still today, at age 45. I fell in love with his sweet voice, his angelic countenance, and his deep spirituality. There will never be another like him. I’m a vocalist too and his music touched my life in so many ways, so many huge life transitions. I love you, Yusuf. Thank you for being such a huge part of my life. Just now finding my true love and soulmate and got him to listen to this song. We are both singers and met online on a singing app. He is in England and I’m in America. We will be together, no doubt. He is my journey’s end. I love you, Steve. Always, in this life and the next and forever.....🇬🇧❤️🇺🇸

I love seeing these mother-daughter pairs enjoying the lovely music
The most poignant love song I know, guaranteed to bring tears to my eyes. It's connected to someone I loved and lost a long time ago, a sad sweetness of memories cut short.
Michael, I so relate to this song too. Shared tears.

I enjoyed the slideshow of art in your gallery. At first I thought you must live in America and then I discovered you live in the one place I'd love to live other than England. New Zealand is such a beautiful place and one of the safest places to live in our troubled and volatile world.
@@michaelwilcox6090 Dear Michael, yes, New Zealand is a good place to be at present.
I feel your pain.
Been there to

Ohhh what a memories of the 70's my teenager days i love listening Cat Steven's voice everytime in our radio!!! Beautiful music in the early 1970's created by great artists during those years!!!
Me!
He's so talented and handsome.
We really did have some beautiful music and magnificent musicians in the 1970's. Cat Stevens was definitely one off the best.
Love this song - saw him in Australia about 7yrs ago and I cried when I heard him singing. Sounded exactly the same as in the 70's. Magnificent singer. Never thought I would get to see him in concert. So thankful he came back to his singing
One of the all time great songs, his voice has even more depth than when he was young!
