We can even use this technique on hamstring muscle... to facilitate lengthing of muscle .. to provide flexibility

Ma'am i have a doubt... reciprocal inhibition means when one muscle group contracts the opposite ones relax... so in this technique we aim at relaxing the muscle we contract... how will the principle be reciprocal inhibition ma'am?
Dear Hema Malini,
The technique used here is contract relax ,for elbow flexion limitation the tight biceps will be your agonist,the movement that we are facilitating is contraction of triceps which is your antagonist.Reciprocal inhibition helps in relaxing the agonist following contraction of antagonist.Hope now the principle is clear for you.
