Kids are already allowed to gather and pray at schools. It’s just not allowed to be taught in class, there are more religions than just Christianity. State mandated religion is against the constitution. Not everyone is a Christian. Jog on, Walters!
Everyone in Oklahoma needs to learn about Zeus. I demand it! Oh, wait, religious liberty is one of the fundamental freedoms the United States was founded on? So... Everyone needs to spend equal time with the 4,000+ different gods that humans have invented or perhaps we shouldn't regress into a theocracy?
"We all have the free exercise of our religious beliefs." I suppose Muslim children should be able to have Islam taught in schools and have prayers several times per day. Oh, and prayer wheels need to be installed in all schools and let's not forget the golden Buddha statues. The Book of Mormon, the Torah have to be read every morning. This clown isn't promoting the right to religious freedom, he's promoting his brand of dogma.
Exactly! He claims he’s not pushing a certain religion yet wants Bibles in the classes. Kids should have the right to pray if they want to, but he’s absolutely pushing his religious dogma on students.
Can you imagine if an imam made everyone in the school district watch a video of him getting on his prayer rug and praying for President Obama? Can you imagine the absolute exploding GOP heads across the country?
I subbed in Illinois schools, the only religion with the freedom to pray in school, are the Muslim children. You need to go and work throughout your district... You will be shocked.
Close these government daycares already! Keep the government out of education! If you want your kid to be raised with religious views than do it at home, church and private school. The end.
Well… You know, public school is sort of something that happens all around the world. And been going on for several hundred years. But I guess you’re excited to take us back to like the year 1500. Congratulations.
@@tyleronearth Get a life would you? If parents want to instill religion they can do it with morning prayer, meal time prayer or prayer before bed AT HOME. If they don't find it that important then stop wasting our kids time learning about religion in school. There are many families in public school who have different religions and they need to respect that. Let's pledge allegiance to the flag since we all live in America. Leave the religion to private schools where parents send their kids specifically to have religion in their curriculum. My parents sent all of us to private Catholic school. We had daily mass, regular prayer and religion class and I enjoyed it, but stop pushing other people's religions down our kids throats. They will have plenty of time to decide what religion or faith they want to follow when they turn 18. Let's instill more programs in schools such as anti-bully classes, and gun violence and how our kids can protect themselves that way. Religion is a private matter.
The real controversy should be over how many times this man has been sued. And how many tax payers dollars have been used for attorney fees to defend him. It's in the hundreds of thousand dollars. And the law suits aren't even over yet!!!
@@BajatheChickenMan I live in Mississippi and lemme tell you. It's a shithole. So many people there worship Trump I just look at them calling them weirdos.
This man shouldn't be in charge of OK schools because he clearly wants to turn public school education into a cult of his personal beliefs. He is dangerous and unfit for the job.
And just to be clear, when he says everybody has the right to practice their religion, in schools, he means all religions, right? It's only the athiests he disaproves off? ❤🎉
You wouldn't believe how many times he has seen sued in the last year. And the hundreds of thousands of tax payers dollars that has been paid out to lawyers to defend him.
Have guest speakers come to classes. From different religions. A basic explanation and instill a sense of RESPECT for those with different beliefs. Expose the kids to all religions. It’s called education!!
Please, everybody do research before moving or even visiting the state of Oklahoma. I lived in Oklahoma, and I was a nurse there for 20 years. Oklahoma healthcare system is crooked. Patients die and it’s hidden. The law is corrupt. Every county is corrupt. DHS was trafficking children and sexually abusing them. The school system is absolutely appalling. If you ever do come to the state of Oklahoma, I am sorry. My only advice is do not get on community care insurance. That insurance company is going to be on the news one day, there’s going to be a class action lawsuit against that company, save yourself, save your health and save your life. Community care is the cheapest insurance so everyone in Oklahoma is almost forced do use it. If you are using insurance through your employer, almost 99% of employers in the state of Oklahoma use community care. You would be better off, scheduling an appointment with Satan himself, I think Satan would care more about humans than the doctors in the state of Oklahoma. I was a nurse, I worked in almost every hospital and multiple clinics in 20 years. I wouldn’t even take an animal to a doctor in the state of Oklahoma little loan a human being.
Nashville TN. is always in need of good nurses.🌺Nashville, Tennessee has around 20,850 registered nurses (RNs). The average salary for an RN in Nashville is $84,928. However, Tennessee is facing a nursing shortage.

Yes well in "those days" people didn't care that other people had their own religions. Let's have everyone recite the pledge of allegiance daily in school and have the kids stand like we used to since we all enjoy living in American and the freedoms we have. Leave religion at home. Kids will choose what they want to do when they are 18 and to the parents who want to share their religion with their kids there is time at meals and bedtime at home. Leave it out of the schools unless the parents are paying for their kids to go to a private school such as Catholic school or any other school who studies and includes religion as part of their curriculum, those in public school shouldn't have to pray openly and it should not be part of the curriculum.
We sang hymns and prayed every day. I'm glad we weren't indoctrinated by grifting preying preachers like in the States. Religion means one thing and that's to treat others how you would like to be treated, f the rest of it.
The guy's right. You should be able to pray if you want to. If he clearly told students (I have not seen the entire video) that it's okay if they don't pray, no harm here.
They can pray at home with their families if that is important to them. No reason to make it mandatory in public schools. Let's have everyone every day stand and recite the pledge of allegiance every day and raise and lower the flag, because everyone enjoys those freedoms that our service members fight for and die for. Freedom isn't free. Unless the parents are paying for private school that includes religion in their curriculum then leave religion at home, not in the schools.
So a bit more context to this that they didn't touch on: 1. His little prayer video was centered around praying for trump, his cabinet picks & bashing democrats. 2. He tried to make it mandatory for all public schools to play his video in class. 3. He got a lot of backlash & many school superintendents not only refused, but sent out mass announcements saying "we're not going along with this. It has nothing to do with the curriculum." 4. Walters' response to the refusal? Basically any superintendent who refused will be fired & threatened to shut down any schools that don't comply with his demands. 5. He's also trying to force public school teachers to add the Bible into the curriculum. & not just ANY Bible, but specifically the trump edition. I have a child in OKCPS. Almost no one is okay with any of this, many Republicans included. It's going well beyond pushing religion onto children & into the realm of pushing political indoctrination. This isn't North Korea.
Honestly he is doing something postive and here we go getting upset over the black and white of the matter when the grey of it is telling me this is a positive thing he is doing....
