Honestly, I wish there were more bookends available at affordable prices. Like if Marvel made them for their omni collectors with themes and all that sh***.
It’s affordable but scalpers buy them all and sell for 5x the price.
If there's anyone out there mad about a reprint of anything, it's because they want to profit. End of story. Do they love what they buy or not?
200 for a bookend set is wild, i hope its at least sturdy material

You and I both, the originals sold out so fast I didn't even get a chance. I preordered these, but I would much rather have the originals since the colors match my complete deluxe collection.

I can see how someone can see it as a cash grab by not giving number they might make. But it gives the people who missed out on the first to buy them at a reasonable price.

In the manga doesn't Miura always do a cross hatch effect on the flat of the dragon slayer? feels odd not seeing some of those techniques implemented in a variant that's meant to reflect his artwork? just looks like a generic manga paint version...
The original version they put out feels more Berserk than this one.

Wish I was able to get my hands on the fully painted version when they were available.
I’ll definitely get them, because I badly wanted the original ones, but I currently have the Prime1 Hand of God and Egg of the Perfect World on either side of the manga. But I’m not letting these pass by, I might change my setup in the future and I can use them.

We just got into berserk at my house a couple months ago so I didn’t even know the first set even existed so this new set looks great to me
Love these! It makes more sense with the books because the books have no color!
At first look i really liked it, but now seeing the black books between I'm not so sure I like it. maybe with the paperback books. Also having bought the original bookends for a ridiculous amount on ebay I'm glad they aren't just bringing the same ones back. Always nice seeing more Berserk stuff come out in a way tho. they could have made a bigger dragonslayer body pillow then the prime1. which can recommend

I think they look dope. Imagine pairing these with some Sin City black & white statue/figs with some Berserk Manga Art framed above. There's potential.
Is it actually the same sculpt tho? The midsection of the colored version is crosshatched while the b/w version is smooth with other scratches on it
looks good imo. pops depending on your set up . if you got your deluxe editions against a white wall idk would look boring. 200 isnt much if your used to buying scale figures and statues. doesnt seem bad since they released a different version so the originals still hold value. think most ppl would prefer the 1st versions

if we starting to questioning this as cash grab then we should begin with art of war...
considering the fact that i made my own bookends for berserk, i would say this is just them being smart. i won't pay this and won't get these but still a smart idea. that being said while i love dragon slayer would have still liked something else maybe guts griffith half busts maybe a behelit bookend.
i want it but i have a 3d printer so.... 300 euro's when including shipping is not worth it i could 3d print one and pay someone to paint it for half

I really like it but $200 for sword end... i need be realistic even i like berserk. Not getting. Didnt get the 1st one. No regret. So i wont regret on this too.
I honestly think that the black and white colours aren’t for me. But I really like how this is available for people that missed out on the original. I donno about this one. It’s a pass for now, who knows it may grow on me

Most of us have our books in shelves already. I did for a time have the books in the OG bookends in a moducase next to the prime 1 statues. Was pretty dope.
If i purchased these i'd get model paint and learn to paint like those guys from warhammer40k Lol
The black/white does NOT look good and comes off as like "hey we are trying to save money while making a CRAP TON OF IT at the same time. Heres the piece you wanted just no color"

It's not bad, but I feel that the textures that we see in the manga are not completely achieved, especially in the inner area of the blade.

@@Xero_Kaiser it’s not that hard. Let’s say someone sells a limited edition hardcover book and the seller tells you that they will never make more. That there are only 500 and it’s the set amount. You buy it because it’s cool, you think only 500 in the world are made and maybe, one day it’ll be worth money. Then a year later the company sells the same hardcovers, but now they’re green.
Yeah… you’d feel a certain way about it. Even more so when you spent a lot of money on it. Maybe try putting yourself in the other persons shoes. Maybe you’d feel differently if you owned the original. Or maybe you wouldn’t. I still don’t think it’s a hard concept to wrap your head around

I wasn't being literal when I said that I couldn't wrap my head around the mindset. I just always find it odd how many people in this "hobby" don't actually seem to enjoy the things they buy, they just enjoy being the only one to have it.
