Beating Minecraft's Hardest Modpack With Nothing // Episode 13 - A Barrel Full Of Goose Juice
Вставка
- Опубліковано 27 вер 2024
- In this thirteenth episode of the series, I spend a prolonged period of time gassing up my island, use my body to impersonate a Shamwow infomercial set in an Aztec temple, weaponize the power of "Goose Juice" to propel myself into an apicultural golden age, and lay the groundwork for questionable mob-based hijinks in hopes of enabling a career change into the production of cleaning products.
GT - New Horizons is an intricately designed and custom-coded kitchen-sink style modpack built on the 1.7.10 version of Minecraft. It integrates hundreds of Minecraft's flagship mods into a Gregtech framework - completely overhauling the mods' traditional progression in the process, and radically rebalances any of the technologies those mods may offer.
Because doing things the normal way is 'too easy', I am following a ruleset based off of the (in)famous Garden Of Grind ruleset that places me in a completely empty superflat dimension. Every single resource I need, including blocks to stand on, has to be created out of nothing by finding clever workarounds and weird mechanics. Unlike in Garden Of Grind, I am not restricted to only my starting dimension - it's just that every other dimension starts out just as empty as my first one.
This pack is available on both the Curseforge and Technic launchers. You can also get the pack directly from the development GitHub.

The amount of manual labor needed to complete this challenge is insane. But listening to someone doing this labor is so chill
As an old russian saying goes, you can watch three things endlessly:
water flowing,
fire burning,
and someone else working.
@@platannapipidae9621 i absolutely love saying in other languages, they usually have saying for things us americans dont think about as much, so much wiser ig
Still can't believe this guy just randomly popped up and now he's a part of my must watch
same
Same
I'm loving this series. Some of the freshest minecraft content in ages. No BS, just high quality editing, commentary, and gameplay.
This is like one of the few channels I watch about my unloved mc. It really just unwatchable everywhere else.
The time investment for this series is nuts, and it really shows. We get none of the usual UA-camr faffing about that you find elsewhere.
It's quite a breath of fresh air I gotta say.
i would say there’s a lot of bs! just more on the mod’s part than goose’s
Facts one day UA-cam recommended me the first episode and at first I was like oh another wait 10 years for drops on a one block void. Till I saw it was on 'hardest modpack' which can only be GTNH so I was intrigued how it would get passed literally anything as GTNH makes everything but breathing hard. Now I'm invested in the BEES
Ignores the movie maker magic lol
I love it when I find a series on yt where I don’t understand 95% of whats going on but the narration and storytelling makes it elite entertainment
Every time I watch an episode I feel like i actually know less about going on, but dang am I gonna continue to watch
I've played GregTech: New Horizons before. Never managed to get much of anywhere, but it gives me a sense for how insane this person is for doing this. This video alone was probably somewhere between 25-30 hours of work, _minimum._
@nikkiofthevalley And he makes 2-3 of these neatly cut videos per month. I cant even imagine having to sit through those hours twice - once to play and once to filter the good stuff and edit - just to entertain people.
Vinculotus flower from Botania can make Enderman teleport in a certain spot, so you can make all of them teleport into Tinker's smeltery to melt into liquid ender.
Also Loonium flower can generate dungeon loot, which includes Ender Lily seeds
You're the most unhinged yet.. sane creator I've seen in years. I'm so happy I found this series because this is amazing
Milk is a super good way to produce Carbon, Hydrogen, and Oxygen since the Sugar that comes from centrifuging a bucket is RICH in the stuff. It also gives marginal amounts of Phosphorous, but a LOT of Sodium, Magnesium, and Calcium if you ever need those.
Magnesium, phosphor and calcium are maybe useful?
Pretty sure getting a different sugar source and ashes centrifuging gets you all of that significantly faster
I struggle to finish normal nomifactory, this man has been completing a much more grindy pack with absolutely nothing and he has come further than me. Well done
this channel is literally a gold, no BS, no mr.beast type clickbait, no over the top "notfound" youtuber type style editing, just good old grindy ass modpacks from 2016
I have not played kitchen sink mod packs like this in ages. Mostly due to an inability to wade through complex mechanics like bees, goose juice, and chemistry. So seeing someone else do it is fascinating.
GT:NH is much less of a kitchen sink modpack than you'd expect. It has a really good quest book and good documentation for most of it. They even modified and custom made a bunch of mods to make everything balanced.
I should note, "balanced" does not mean easy, or fast. GT:NH takes around 5 years to get to the "end" of the modpack, which is making a Stargate. It's actually recommended by the modpack creators to go for a less difficult goal, like getting to space, or getting the best rocket, instead of a Stargate.
@@nikkiofthevalley its not that slow, you could complete it in like 3 years i think pretty easily if you focus on progress
@@nikkiofthevalley Holy Sweet Jesus, that is a ridiculously long time. I feel like even the more extreme factorio mods don't take that long.
@owenchafer1083 As an avid Factorio player, I can confirm. Completing Pyanodons, the hardest Factorio mod, takes 1200-2000 hours depending on your pace and familiarity with certain ideas that don't come up in small-scale base building (e.g., you can't really complete Py without a cityblock). In contrast, GT:NH is 3000-6000 hours, is grindier, and boy does it try to make your life miserable (e.g., when foraying into bees and magic). Py is very complex-but for every normal tools it takes from you, it gives you something fun in return (filter inserters that don't require electricity, early bots, caravans, etc.).
NOO I'VE CAUGHT UP!
Also. With the 4th wall break you proved how dedicated you are and how deserving you are for having the algorithm slowly sending people your Way
I did not think that it was possible to make, GREG TECH OF ALL into a chill series. Good job!
"I'll call it goose juice for the sake of being child friendly"
*a couple seconds later*
"...good old fasioned *murder!*"
fresh irony xD
That’s an insane amount of grind. The raw gameplay time for 30 minutes of usable footage is an average 20 hours. That’s not even taking testing in another world, or any postproduction in at all. Your content is so good, and the effort you put in is unbelievable, I mean 16 episodes in just 3 months speaks for itself, especially with another job. Just make sure you don’t burn yourself out and to take care of yourself!
I’m loving the magitech approach to the series which I feel no one has really dove deep with on UA-cam
GTNH is a Modpack that I would never play, but it makes so much fun to watch you play it.
The fact this is your only youtube series is mind boggling, watched all these in a row and now am obsessed with where youll go
I went through all the episodes until last one thinking they were all out and im so excited to see more of this again
litearlly just caught up 5 seconds ago, actually insane timing
I picked up this series last week as I have reached the endgame of Enigmatica 2 Expert, and this series gives me hope that I can finish it
Babe wake up new Neurotic Goose just dropped
The ender dragons being spewed out at the end was hilarious. I hope you build an ender dragon grinder.
9:18 "a solid 3 hours of juicing myself like an orange" got a good laugh out of me tho 😂😂😂
Your content is engaging and the commentary is on point, keep it up and you'll make it big in no time for sure!!
I have no idea what is going on, and I'm absolutely hooked. Binged the whole series over the past day and can't wait for more
I’m in the same boat
Obligatory algorithm comment, as well as yet another commendation for your absolute dedication to this project. A 40:1 ratio for time, especially when each episode is 30 minutes, is genuinely insane.
I watched all of these back to back so far, to experience but a fraction of your pain.
100 barrels of goose on the wall, 100 barrels of goose
take one down, pass it around, 32,729 barrels of goose on the wall
1. Frenzied Frame. I am incredibly amused that theres an Elden Ring reference here
2. Chekhov’s Armory is a great extrapolation of his gun, I love it
There is also a deltarune reference. The dealmaker.
the specific way you say "welcome back" at the start of each video makes me almost expect a "sethbling here" right after
Wow your series is incredibly good for a first stint on youtube. I realized I had ran out of episodes to watch on this series and frantically scrambled for more on your channel! Really excited to see more from you, your commentary is chill and clear and there's no bullshit
I have just watched the entire series from the start and wow what an awesome idea. This challenge is so cool to see played out by someone who knows what they’re doing. Keep up the great videos!!!
Ah yes. Goose Juice Magic.
ep1-13 binge: ✅
this pack & challenge sure is fun... to watch someone else suffer in, thanks for that
goose id: N-G
location: approaching the mouth of goose hell
goosekind is dead
goose juice is feul
goose hell is full
You've come so far from throwing yourself into the void, all the way to producing ender dragons
new video, YIPEEE!!!!
also congrats on 10k subscribers!
Any random event that can be a total game changer in a strictly positive way almost certainly indicates a deep-set game design problem.
I watched only a bit of modded Minecraft myself but the commentary more than makes up for my lack of understanding 😂. Jokes are funny, editing is simple yet funny and the approach to the challenge is interesting too. You certainly got a new fan in me!
love the description synopsis for this one
Just binged this series the past three days, great work!
Given the quality of the content and editing of these videos, I fully expected to find a backlog of, like, 500 videos in that channel of yours. Honestly a tad disappointed to find out there wasn’t, if only because I’d hoped to spend the next couple days chewing through them, but regardless you’ve got a fun thing going here! Looking forward to seeing where it goes!
a while ago, i went back to some old modpacks for nostalgia's sake, but had completely forgotten that there's always those god forsaken bees in them. how i hate those bees.
23:20 1-to-40 footage efficiency! With 25 episodes of 32 minutes as of this writing, that is 533 hours of playing! Or 67 8-hour work days. You're mad alright! But still, kudos to you for creating this super well edited serious instead of just dumping raw stream footage on us like most creators do nowadays.
Bees. Or as I call them: Waiting Simulators. Not even once.
I thought this was some old abandoned series, but I’m seeing it’s actually active! Subbed and excited to see where this goes.
brings me back to the thaumcraft days
oh the grindy glory
Goose this series slaps ur so quickly becoming my fave UA-camr and you’ve only got this one series keep it up bestie
artisan in his craft and ridiculously goose-juicy youtuber
Heck yeah! Been waiting for this all day!!
This is an amazing series. I watched the whole thing today and was just disappointed that there was not another episode for me to watch. I am just so impressed with how far you have come!
i just caught up to the series yesterday, good timing
Hope you keep this up, man. Been loving the journey. I don't usually leave comments but I wanted to algo-bump for ya.
I literally have no idea whats going on, but i am 100% invested in this series
I just figured out why I love this series so much. It reminds me of Waffle Galaxy's End of Earth series! ❤
i love this series, its kinda making me want to make a modpack of my own to play through
Perfect timing just finished the last episode
Ive never been more invested in a challenge such as this especially when the first few parts were Corpse Dirt and Mob slaughter
27:56 Wayyyy back (like when forestry was being made, so minecraft 1.2 or something like that) when watching direwolfs smp series I remember talks about aviaries being too overpowered so frames were added to nerf. It's intentional, and maybe was good choice at the time, but it really was a relic of its time.
from the start I knew it was going to BEE a BLOODY(juice) good episode
ALSO FOR THE ALGRORITHM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for all your suffering. I could never do GTNH and therefore hope to live vicariously through your self-imposed struggles. ❤
I wouldn't mind watching 3 of these daily, but with the amount of work put into these vids it's still impressive how fast they are made
Looking forward to the resurrection-based mob farm. I've never encountered the majority of bee effects since I typically just purebreed it out via my trait-giver bee line, other than using Explorer effect for free EXP
Well wishes from one vast factory to another. May the tyrrany of resource shortages fall to your apimancy-shaped blade.
This series is so much fun to watch, and I will wait as long as it takes for the next episode!
i have no idea what is going on in this modpack most of the time but still like these videos, keep it up!
i swear 90% of the time I spend on this modpack is just staring at JEI and hoping for a revelation
You've captured the same energy as Ethoslabs Project Ozone play through
10/10
Incredible, binged it all till now
30:25 Sounds like you've never heard of The End of Light. Truly, when you apply yourself, you can exploit the world to such a degree that nothing can outscale your production of natural resources.
You're always intensely fascinating to watch! Looking forward to seeing more from you ^^
i was really waiting for the new episode, so thank you for the tonn of work you do for this series. i really like this challenge!
The chemistry part almost brought me back to reality with a college flashback, but the goose-juice-o-mancy sent me right back to safety.
Close call, compulsive duck... close call
My favorite method I ever discovered for Blood Magic (in a separate, non quest-based modpack) was using and RFTools dimension that had a massive cavern that was full of life essence. All I had to do was set a pump to draw it into an ender tank and then store it in my ME system. It trivialized the entire mod.
I watched episodes 1-12 without being bored!!!!! Deserves a sub
Keep cooking, this is a peak series. Just like the good old days!
Babe, a new episode of Minecraft masochism just dropped
Hey, I love your videos. Great quality and really entertaining :D! If you hate arithmetic by the way (or are bad at it like me) you can use `ctrl + shift + a` when bookmarking to get the quantities of items in the right ratio, after which you can scroll on either the input/output to scale it (in the latest version I believe you might actually be able to even chain recipes like this and keep the ratios correct).
21:30 ah... yes... haybiscus
I love how this guy is actively blowing up on this side of gt UA-cam and he acts like it's nothing
Your patience is impressive.
The best skyblock series Ive seen, bar none. Its honestly surprising this is your first series of videos.
Great job mate
Good stuff! Maybe a smeltery with a regenerating infernal enderman in it could serve as a less potentially hazardous form of ender pearl farming, since if some special mob can cause the egg to drop on the ground.. well.
When I played project ozone 3 kappa mode and made a well of suffering I used a villager spawner which grouped the villagers up just over the altar. They give the most amount of blood essence per entity. Eventually I needed so much blood essence that I built a second identical altar right next to the first
Some self sabotaging part of me now desperately wants to set up the pack and play through under the same conditions just to experience the extra ~300 hours of surely RIVETING sit around and wait for stuff to happen gameplay.
The sluice is loose! The script fastidiously filled with fetid goose juice.
Climb a tree. Tower up a spruce! There's no escaping the bubbling molten goose.
Certified goose classic
everything comes back to BEES
This made me start this hellish thing. I got a weakness potion from a loot bag.
Commenting for algorithm shenanigans, because this series is actually really cool and I'm enjoying it a lot.
New episode lets go I love this series I love you. I love you. I love you.
🥰
I love modded videos like this. This is like IGBLON but with a more informative angle
Goose Juice, the juice of the goose.
Also, I have not been reading the descriptions so I was very caught off guard by glancing out the corner of my eye "Shamwow infomercial set in an Aztec temple".
Ya heard of Lignite?
LIGNITE COMB!!!! OOHHHHHH!!!!
God I remember messing with blood craft on a multiplayer server a while back. I remember automating an extreme amount of healing with Project E so I could just source the oceans of goose juice from myself idly.
7:00 you did not go blind
You just blinked for the first time
This is my favorite Minecraft series I've seen in recent years!
Another exquisite fine dining experience
Omg I love this!❤ this needs to be put on a t shirt!
this bee thing is the single dumbest/greatest mechanic I have ever seen. Thank you
6:56 And I thought going blind from too much “maceration” was a myth
Been loving the show, keep up the good work.
