I love this song and this band, i lost my dad when i was 20 to MS, my best friend Zach who was a cop to a car accident and i lost my godmother 6 months ago and i still have the nightmares of their deaths and their deaths have feels like there’s a new bullet in my heart and i feel like I’m crazy for missing them. :`(

The part about being buried alive and burning the bridges, reminds me about loosing my best friend. Listened to this song soon after loosing my best friend, and that were the first time i reacted on it's lyrics (Switched from Sirenia to Withing Temptation while driving my car, cause it were to depressing). My friend died suddendly though, and the part about hope and trying to revive the person in this song, makes me think it's about struggling with the loss of someone who struggled for awhile. Atleast i've listening alot to this song after loosing him, trying to figure out what's it about, and it's also been sorta of a terapy for me. Or maybe it's like someone here said about loosing herself, or maybe it's about just loosing a friend (like in Mean Girls), or maybe it's even just a reference to Lord of the Rings. Still struggle with figuring it out, and i also have no intention on stalking Sharon to find out. In my mind since it's a song, and i think the most important is what it means to you. Atleast this song is my favorite Within Temptation song, even though it makes me sad somoetimes :)
Her grandmother (the vocalist's) die for Alzheimer. This song and "Say my name" are about the suffering she had seeing her grandmother get lost every day.

Your mind plays the most wicked games. But when you think love would bind and it didn't not... What do you have left really? Your own shadows you create... The ones that help buried you.
This is like her tryin to talk to her inner self her past self and present and she's so lost that shes losing herself more in the darkness while trying to keep herself together and still have hope even when she's been buried alive for so long

Forgot to mention: the eyes just a little bit closer to each other, if possible, the eyelashes long and dark, each feature mentioned previously to match the others so that the face is harmonious and recognisable, not changed...

Love the song, found it because I am looking for a song fitting my rpg character as a character building excercise and this fits soooo well She is a 12 year old with student, she lost her father because he was killed and her mother (who from the get go was not the warmest mother with high expectations abd trauma) started obsessing about finding the murderer and getting revenge, which of course let her to neglect her daughter. Now she has gone missing and my character tries to find her. And, well she kinda has a lot to deal with and right now she tries to find her dads killer in hope of thus finding her mother. She isn't out for revenge but is kind of afraid what will happen if she ever find the murderer, she doesn't want to end up like her mum really... There is a lot more to it but that is the gist so this so g fits quiet well n.n
