I have the Chronos 1.4 and run the 720P files to 2K via Topaz VEAI with mostly good results. I also use an anti-aliasing filter to remove some of the rainbow artifacts you get with the sensor. I was gonna upgrade to the 2.1 but will wait for a 4K version since Topaz VEAI with the 720P files can produce some nice results.

That’s a great workflow, I’d love to see them introduce an OLPF in future models to get around the aliasing/moire issues when they pop up.

@@IAmAFilmDude yeah I asked Krontech if they make an OLPF but nothing. : ( Right now, I'm using Caprock Anti-Moire filters but which strength filter I use always changes depending on the focal length of my lens. If you use too strong a filter on a longer focal length, it becomes too blurry. That's why having an OLPF solution is far better than having something in front of the lens.

Really interesting and useful video on this camera. I've started doing a bit of tabletop and food stuff and am interested in capturing a bit of high speed material and exploring that as a potential workstream, so this level of detail on the camera and the workflow involved is really useful. I would hire one for the odd day, so I haven't to time for a long learning curve, either.

Hi Nick just discovered you this was seriously an amazing overview and you nailed it on each category ! Im also a product videographer and Ive been working with the Chronos 2.1 consistently for 2 years , it is an amazing camera however as you said you need the right elements and you need to practice and fully understand how it works . I suffered with Magenta colours at first but thanks to Davince I finally broke through that barrier. I started laughing when you did mention lights bc I know that my 200 and 300 weren't enough at first even with speed boosters , not even close . Finally purchased a 1200 nanlux and things just started to look much better... Hot but better lol. People also need to know that even with those light you need diffusion . You really went into details and I appreciate that especially towards DB/iso, in which I never touch bc of noise .Not sure if you mentioned the black calibration , as I do it on ever single shoot which is annoying but its to make sure it's 100% calibrated. You got yourself a follower great work !

Wow thanks mate! I know that profile pic anywhere 😂. Always in awe of your work I see on IG. Thanks for watching, it’s actually awesome that since this is such a niche camera, there’s a really cool community of owner operators across the globe.
Great point, I didn’t raise black calibration but it’s a must any time there’s a change in light or camera settings for sure!

Thanks for the deep dive into the camera. Question...How much did you end up paying for vat and import charges? I am also looking to purchase the 32gb model (workflow, need those extra seconds)
