- Get ready for more epic thrills and romance in the seventh season of The Vampire Diaries. After saying an emotional goodbye to Elena Gilbert, some characters will recover while others falter and Bonnie, in particular, will explore her new lease on life. As Damon and Stefan’s mother, Lily (guest star Annie Wersching), tries to drive a wedge between the Salvatore brothers, hope remains that Stefan and Caroline’s love story is tough enough to survive. Damon will do whatever it takes to take down his mother and her band of Heretics, and Enzo will struggle with where his loyalties lie. Plus, with Mystic Falls in disarray and the arrival of the Heretics - who are set on retaliation and mayhem - the suspense will be stronger than ever. Guest stars this season include Tim Kang (The Mentalist), Justice Leak (Insurgent), Todd Lasance (Spartacus: War of the Damned), Elizabeth Blackmore (Evil Dead) and Scarlett Byrne (Harry Potter films).

Totally agree. She was only 1 year older than Ian Somerhalder. You would never know it given how well she played the role. It's so sad she died of cancer and so young as well.

I want Ian Somerhalder to as a villain in a Marvel movie. He's one of my favorite tv actors of all time.

The only parent Stefan had was Damon, he looked after him so that their father wouldnt hurt Stefan like he did Damon, Damon was the only person looking out for him growing up
Hes fully justified for his feelings. His father beat him and Stefan so bad that Damon took Stefan's punishments so his little brother wouldn't be hurt. She abandoned them both to start a new family.

If Lily wanted Damon to treat her like his mother then she should have acted like a mother. She abandoned him. She left him and his brother with their abusive father and found herself a new family and prioritized them over her own sons. Damon can be cruel yes but in this instance I don't blame him one bit.
Let's even forgive her for that since she she said she fled because when she bent down to give stefan s motherly kiss she could smell his blood blah blah blah but when she came back she has a chance to make peace with her real family her own friends she choose some evil witch vampires over them

Watching this at first I hated their mother I really like wow you don’t love you’re sons but after she told her story I felt sorry for her and she definitely loved them but couldn’t bare what the father was doing to her and it’s like Damon was so hurt and she never expressed the love and regret she had for leaving him but always mentioned it to Stephen.
You forget that she suggested to Kay what kind of spell he should use on Elena to punish him, that was as mean as a person can get not to mention she was his mother.

Yeah that was my main issue, she could have easily protected them from afar by sending a witch or killing Guiseppe herself if she really cared.
She could have manipulated Guisseppe to treat them better

Totally agree! I mean, I can kind of understand why she couldn't be with Damon and Stefan in person while they were still human. She visited Stefan on the day of her funeral and almost lost control.
But she sent Valerie and Oscar to check in on them years after she was turned. Why couldn't she have done something similar when they were younger? Then at least they wouldn't have been left to their father's mercy. And she did find out about them becoming vampires at some point before she was banished to the prison world. Why didn't she try to contact them then?
Why do i feel like Damon is the pretty much the only person on this show that EVER gets slapped. You rarely see other characters get hit.
