Wow, this is top notch. My Grandfather (d.1975) was an SC Game Warden during his working life and I still have his Don Hume "Bill Jordan" black basket weave snap-strap holster for a 4" Model 10 S&W and the matching belt. Don't know what became of the dump pouches OR the lead-filled flat sap he used to carry EVERYWHERE after he retired.
Pop was a very fit man and had the trim waist needed to wear that rig in a vehicle. This is all featured in Bill Jordan's book "No Second Place Winner". Only time I remember him shooting the .38 was when we were out picking blackberries one hot summer afternoon. I was six years old, I think. Heard a choice cuss word, then POW. One shot through the head. Rattler was as long as Pop's arm 90 degrees to his side. Pop was 6'1". Cut from tougher cloth, his generation was. 😊

When I was a teenaged hot rod street speeder racer, if pulled over by the Officer wearing a Sam Brown duty belt with the over the shoulder strap on a swivel holster with double rows of spare ammunition, it was a given that more than 1 traffic citation was going to be issued and the insurance would be getting a boost after the fine.
