Glad you enjoy the vids. If you are ever vacationing in Michigan for whatever reason stop by for some racing. We'll have a Saison D’Heretique waiting for you.

Sitting here watching as I’m waiting for my set to arrive, UPS tracking is still showing tonight by 9pm...I’m getting kind of restless, it’s 8:50pm. Anyway, these videos are an excellent and entertaining source of information for guys like me who are new or decades removed from slot cars. I saw one of your videos in this series (I think) said to stay away from the Ford for high speed lane changing...I forgot the term you use but it wasn’t of the complimentary sort, but that is one of the cars in my set, lol. It is now 8:55, I don’t think that set is coming tonight. Disappointment is setting in. Ok guys, just wanted to say how much I enjoy this channel. 👍
@@johnniehobby - Nope. I was promised by Monday (a person) and yesterday an automated response said I will receive it that night, and here I am in the morning with no set. I have all the accessories I ordered, just sitting in their boxes, teasing the hell out of me. Anyway, they put in a new purchase order, guaranteed delivery (ha-ha) by Sunday or earlier. Time will tell.
Awesome vibe you got going, man. I still run Go! 1.43 SCALE and thats been so much fun already, expanding the track and getting wireless controllers etc. If I would upgrade to digital and bigger scale, I´d need an extra giant room or basement, garage etc.
One of the great things about slot cars (and model trains, too) is that they are available in different scales. You can have cool toys regardless of your available space.
I have a couple of tips for you: - since you have an out-of-the-box Carrera track, it has only the 1-rad turns (sharpest turns), and your straightaways are, at most, 5 ft long, the factory settings on the car are more than you can use. Set the max speed on the cars to maybe 5 or 6 (factory setting is 10). You can't use the top speed of the car on a track that short anyway. It'll give you much better resolution on your throttle and make the car more controllable. - if you haven't already, see our video on tuning a new slot car. Most notably is the part on truing tires. New slot cars are slippery and inconsistent because the rear tires have variations. Truing them makes a huge difference. Good luck, have fun, and keep us posted on your slot car exploits, and have a great holiday!
I've been wanting to get an HO scale slot car set because that's what my dad had when I was a kid and I just want to recreate some of that fun but your videos have me wanting a 1:32 set plus add ons. The racing looks super fun with lane changes and pit lane.
I grew up racing HO scale and still have a ton of Tyco track and cars but haven't done anything with it since getting into 1/32. All slot car racing is fun but I much prefer the larger scale plus the digital aspect adds so much more of a dynamic.

Hey I take a fence, or offence to the ghost car being able to beat Phil and I... also it was a dick move when Phil pushed the you out (or whoever it was) out of the dual lane pit.. but it was funny as heck... I may have done it myself as a newbie... hahaha. Great video! Quit giving away all the club secrets, damit!
Take all the fences you want, but it's funny because it's true. That gives me an idea for the next video that will be titled "T-Bone and PHIL! try to beat the my ghost car."
Hey Drew, somehow I just saw this comment 9 months after you posted it. Sorry for the delay. You can download the track plans for free from our website here: subhumanracing.net/carrera-layouts/
HO cars will not work on this track as they are tool small and are analog and not digital. Most guys in the club have the GT and DTM cars so that's what we run. A few do have street rods but not enough to warrant it's own class, at least not at this time.
Years back when we first got the track up and running the Carrera PC unit was priced at about $100, which I thought was ridiculous. Therefore, I made my own cable which included a TTL module (essentially a serial-to-usb converter) to connect for much less $$$. Since that time, however, there are more options -- the Carrera BlueTooth module is reasonably priced and the PC unit has come down in price as well. There are also some 3rd-parties that make the cable with the TTL module also.
@@GPgman Some will have duplicate IDs, but don't run in the same race. For example we'll have drivers 1 thru 5 run in a race with IDs 1 thru 5. Then next race drivers 6-10 but their cars will have IDs 1-5 also. The scoring system keeps track of points through the driver name, not the ID. If we rotate the schedule and two drivers with the same ID/controller number end up in the same race, we change their car ID to an open one for that race. Hopefully that makes sense.
I did a search on the internet and couldn't find an answer, hopefully you can provide the information. Can 2 separate digital tracks be fun side by side?
@@rickb4382 Yes, you can build a 4-lane setup. Here's the solution (at least for Carerra, I can't say this works for other manufacturers). You can add x-cross tracks (www.carreraslots.com/slot-car/20517.html) between the 2nd and 3rd lanes (which will require single-lane sections www.carreraslots.com/slot-car/30341.html) that will transfer power and the digital signal from the track with the Control Center to the other lanes. If you want lap counting feature (the standard control unit counts laps on its two lanes), you'll need to add the advanced pit lane sections (www.carreraslots.com/slot-car/30361.html) on the additional two lanes in order to count laps on all four lanes.
@@rickb4382 Also, instead of using x-cross tracks to transfer power and signal between lanes 2 and 3, lane changers may also work, however we've never tried that so I can't be sure.
There are a couple hobby shops near us that sell 1/32 scale slot cars. If there aren't any around you try www.carreraslots.com/ for Carrera or www.scalextric.com/us-en/ for Scalextric.
Everytime when somebody uses the pitlane to pass another car you should give them a lap peanlty just like NASCAR does for Passing belowe the white line during the Daytona 500.😅😅😅😅😅

Sound advice! We had a 'vintage' club for a few years - no tincans, no motors made after 1970...just Pittmans, Kemtrons, Rams, Strombeckers.
