You will learn poor Martha’s fate in the next song, Yo Girl. Some context if you’re interested- Martha jumped off of the bridge in this song after she starts suspecting that Kurt and Ram didn’t commit suicide and were murdered by JD. In order to keep her from snooping around and becoming a target Veronica admits to her that she wrote the note from Big Fun to convince her that Ram was gay and not in love with her.Admittedly Veronica was being antagonized by projections of her psyche in the forms of Kurt, Ram, and Heather Chandler so she wasn’t nice about it
the musical does show us that peer pressure is a scary thing, and if you make a bad route there's nothing to blame but yourself because you made that choice
Christene, here's the in between points in the songs. Forgive me if I don't remember them all but I think I have most of it. Martha has had a crush on Ram, one of the jocks killed in Our Love is God, since kindergarten. She suspects they didn't commit suicide because the note she received to get her to the big party earlier in the musical was forged by Veronica to look like Ram's handwriting and it made him seem interested in Martha. Veronica, while trying to make things work with JD, cannot deny how deadly he is so, to keep Martha safe from JD, comes up with a plan on the spot to stop her from snooping. She did so by revealing the note had been forged so that everyone could have a laugh at her expense. She was very cruel with it but her little performance did it's job. Whether she was so mean because of the stress of everything, being haunted by the spirit of Heather Chandler, or she was that desperate to keep Martha safe from JD, I can't really say. Maybe it was all three? An important thing to note before I continue is that in animatics in color, the Heathers are always color coded. You probably noticesd by now but I haven't heard you mention it so I'll explain for good measure. Heather Chandler is the on who was killed and she is always the Heather in red. Heather Duke became head Heather after Chandler's death and she's always the green Heather. Heather McNamara is the one who sang lifeboat and attempted suicide; she's always the one wearing yellow. Well after finding out the truth from Verionica, Martha had ran off in despair. As she was getting something from her locker later, she overhears JD talking to Heather Duke. Since Veronica doesn't want him to kill, he's trying blackmail instead. Apparently, back in kindergarten, Heather Duke, Martha, and Ram were all close enough friends that they all had bath time together... One of their parents had photos of one such bathtime and he uses this to threaten Duke's image. Duke brushes the whole thing off by saying something along the lines of "You think anyone would care about some photos of ancient history? That anyone would care about anything to do with her? No one cares about Martha Dump truck!" Duke proceeds to leave while JD ponders what to do next. I don't think either of them realized Martha heard the whole thing. That, combined with what she heard from Veronica, is what pushed Martha into a suicide attempt.
JD knew that Martha was there by the end of it. Because when he was leaving he dropped the pictures on the ground looked back and looked directly at Martha before leaving the scene completely. So he did acknowledge her there.
@@All54321 Really? I never got to see the Broadway version. What I described above was what happened in a more local theater that someone posted to UA-cam.
I know a lot of people see the horse with wings is just a funny bit for Martha's fantasy, but I saw it as fiction, she see's any future with Ram as impossible and fantasy, so when she says "and a horse with wings" it's a metaphor for saying it's never happen
The song is sung by Martha "Dumptruck" Dunnstock, Veronica's friend. Basically, in Candy Store the Heathers are trying to get Veronica to forge a note from Ram, who Martha has a crush on. Later, Ram is killed, along with Kurt, by Veronica and JD. Martha doesn't believe that Ram was gay and grows suspicious that he and Kurt were murdered. After she finds out Veronica wrote the note, Martha tried to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge. Thankfully, she survives, but with a few broken bones.
*Beginning of the video* Christine: This is nice *Martha: And this time I’m never waking upppppppp* Christine: She’s flying in dream right No(YO) girl she is committing suicide!
She jumped off a Bridge because she was tired of getting bullied and so she took her own life she's holding a suicide note and she died she doesn't die but she broke some bones and she broke and she jumped off a bridge
You should watch Yo Girl next! Also, PLEASE watch some Dear Evan Hansen, it's another musical. Watch them in order! The first one's "Anybody have a Map?"
Honestly, you're doing a pretty good job connecting dots so far. At this point, I'd say just wait until animatics are done to watch the movie. The musicals great and all, but I still recommend the original Winona Ryder/Christian Slater flick. Maybe you can edit in a post-credits review on the last song, or make it its own video if you want.
Context for the song: Remember the note that Ram wrote for her, but never actually wrote? Well, Martha was so convinced that Ram still loved her from Kindergarten and didn't believe he killed himself cuz he's gay. She was convinced that JD killed them and she told Veronica, and in order to save Martha from being killed by JD, she told had to be mean to Martha and say how Veronica wrote the note and Ram doesn't still like Martha. Martha made this song, and killed herself. What happened to Martha continues in the next song (prolly my fave song is Yo Girl which is next)
Aquah oh, I didn't know that, sorry. I just thought her channel wasn't like that because heathers has that kinda crap in it and she's watching that. Didn't know, srry :/
The movie and the musical are actually quite different even if they are telling the same story. The character dynamics are changed slightly and scened had to be adapted to be performed on stage obviously. Also the musical has more comedy relief into it
Check out Yo Girl by Elemental FA, it will explain everything. It's the next song in the musical. And I recommend that particular one because it is full animation, with color and the movements of the body and mouth going to the lyrics like a cartoon :3
Yo Girl tells you what happens to Martha, so you should probably watch that one. Also I recommend the song anyway cause it’s set between Kindergarten Boyfriend and Meant to be Yours! So it’s a FABULOUS SONG!
You find out what happened to Martha in the next song Yo Girl. The movie won't really explain or have the same effect like the Musical. You have to watch the musical. You can watch it on UA-cam~! :)
great video. next one is yo girl which is REALLY short, and then it's Meant to be yours (which I'm pretty sure you've already done). Then Dead girl walking reprise, which you havent done
It's so sad to me that Martha says 'certain girls are meant to be alone' and is always the most overweight character, because that kind of implies that's part of why she tries to kill herself. My girlfriend is overweight and I wouldn't trade her for anyone in the world, but she had to deal with some vicious girls in high school who would give the Heathers a run for their money and it's eerie for me when I listen to this song to know this kind of bullying really does result in people hurting or even killing themselves... that's scarier to me than some horror movies, honestly, because it's so much more real.
Next is Yo girl! :D go and watch Elemental FA’s one! Its fully animated and coloured! :D ps you should also watch meant to be yours at the same time :3
her kindergarten boyfriend gets shot and killed and she wanted to be with him. hence “I’ll build a dream that i can live in. this time I’m never waking up”
Tbh the way Martha seems as the "innocent bean" in the film and seems to be viewed as the best character (in regards to actions) but watching the whole show I can't help but feel she is even more twisted than most of the characters. Also in the movie she was originally set to kill Veronica in the last scene but they changed that back to them being friends. Her whole character is just off to me and I personally feel more as Heather M was the sweetest and more sane character and was just pressured into what she does. Even in her scene where she tries to kill herself it shows how vulnerable she was to being pushed and everything around her was dying and Heather C was just becoming a huge bitch to the point she couldn't talk to her.
100th comment ayyyyeee Anyways I wanted to say I suggest to to watch jam camposion a UA-cam I watch I also suggest that you watch Elemental FA "Yo Girl"
That's maths from the beginning Veronica's best friend that had a crush on the guy (sorry can't remember his name rn) that JD shot and she attempted suicide
@AyChristene please watch SIX the Musical it’s based around the story of King Henry VIII. And his 6 ex wives and how they came to be as of what happened
The musical and the movie are not perfectly comparable. I recommend that you watch the musical. Watching the movie is something that you should probably do at some point, but it won't go very far to help you understand the songs. You could watch the musical up to the point where your next song starts so that you have context, but aren't spoiled. My favorite version of the musical is ua-cam.com/video/TmmE8Bf7kpI/v-deo.html . It has most of the original cast(excepting JD and Heather C, who are played by understudies) but everyone is incredible. That being said, it is a bootleg so the quality is not the best. But there are other better quality (if, in my opinion, more poorly acted) version out there on youtube. Does anyone have favorite versions?
'' Certain girls are meant to be alone'' is the most relatable lyric ever to me
NOT ALL PEOPLE ARE MEANT TO BE ALONE! Hell fire I was single for 12 years and none of my crushes had liked me back!
Thatonenerdyfangirl 12 years, do you mean you are 12? xD
There's a difference between being alone and being lonely. No one's meant to be lonely.
*hold up a reverse card and john cena comes in your bedroom* ArE U sUrE AbOUt thAt?!
Oh no did you discover heathers from riverdale💀😬

Kirstyn Quinn True.
Kirstyn Quinn Welp, a bit of spoilers you gave out
the musical does show us that peer pressure is a scary thing, and if you make a bad route there's nothing to blame but yourself because you made that choice
Kill her? Is that what you're afraid of?
The one who's singing is Martha, Veronica's friend. She singing about Ram, the boy that Veronica and JD killed in "Our Love is God".
"This musical is a little tense"
The understatement of the century.
intense**

The movie is VERY different from the musical. Certain characters are missing or their roles are DRASTICALLY changed in the musical.
Terriermon50 Some are for the better. Martha is a perfect example of a really good change the musical made
Or Betty Finn she is the best friend of Veronica Sawyer in the movie. in musical no one ever mentions her XD
Martha and Betty were kinda fused into one character
"This is a dream, right?"
NO IT'S NOT!
the boy she was talking about was ram (one of the jocks)
you have to understand that when all that “weird” “creepy stuff” happened they were in kindergarten and that was love for them

Martha deserves so much better!!!!
You should watch Yo Girl next! Also, PLEASE watch some Dear Evan Hansen, it's another musical. Watch them in order! The first one's "Anybody have a Map?"
Kawaii Meow woo
King__Soprano YT Hamilton will probably end first. There are only 4 songs left
By the way, if noone has told you yet, you should do Yo Girl and Meant To Be Yours together
She did?!?!
She is such a bean I feel so bad for her. I wanna play her next time it comes to my theatre
I wish you had reacted to a better animatic for this, this one is very confusing for anyone that hasn't seen the musical
The next song is Yo girl. We have been asking and requesting this since 17. Please please please do the one by elemental. It’s a full animation
HAPPY HALLOWEEN CHIRSTEN!! :D
I love how insistent she was that Martha WASN’T committing suicide
Next is Yo Girl, and it tells you what happens here, too. Please watch the one by Elemental FA, it's a really good full animation!
I get chills when I hear this song
Context for the song: Remember the note that Ram wrote for her, but never actually wrote? "okay.. this is- not, healthy...."
The first time I listened to this I thought it was cute, until it got to "I'm never waking up" and I just knew what she meant...
MARTHA U GONNA MAKE ME CRY GURL.😢

The next one is Yo Girl. I recommend watching it by Elemental FA, it's a color animatic and it's very well done. By the way, I LOVE your videos👌❤
Now that I look back, MissyAsylum did an animatic on Yo Girl too and it's great as well
For Yo Girl you should watch the Elemental FA version- it’s really well done

Please watch Yo Girl (next song) by Elemental FA! It's a full animation and is really fluid!
And you should NOT watch the movie yet... wait until you finish with all the animations because SPOILERS
Yo Girl tells you what happens to Martha, so you should probably watch that one. Also I recommend the song anyway cause it’s set between Kindergarten Boyfriend and Meant to be Yours! So it’s a FABULOUS SONG!
when you do Yo Girl, do the one by Elemental FA. Its a fully fledged animation instead of just an animatic.
You should watch yo girl by Missy asylum next. Her animatics are deffinitely the best ones.
Happy hollowen

She’s DEFINITELY not fine but at least she survives so that’s good

Do elemental's yo girl next. Its a FULL animarion
@AyChristene please watch SIX the Musical it’s based around the story of King Henry VIII. And his 6 ex wives and how they came to be as of what happened
If kindergarteners are more mature than adults there's a problem
Ha some people would do anything if they think it'll make them popular
I think its because Heathers is more modern its more relatable. If you think Heathers is intense you gotta see Dear Evan Hansen next!
Please watch "Yo Girl" by MissyAsylum
Watch yo girl next

Hi
whats sad if you saw BIG FUN her kindergarten boyfriend was RAM
I don’t think this stuff with the locket is creepy, they were basically toddlers. No hate, just my opinion
She jumped off a brige
Look at Hamilton zombie song
