  • In the summer of 2021 we walked the Camino Portugues. It was the second Covid summer and we were longing to go outside and get our feet tired. We wanted to climb those beautiful hills in Northern Portugal and get lost in endless forests of Eucalyptus trees while getting just a bit too tanned. And last but not least: get to know new people again.
    And we did; among them a very Catholic Portugese policeman, a Czech welder who always slept outside and a Belgian girl who found love along the way. We asked them for their stories and meanwhile we realised we had to make a decision for ourselves as well.
    Still doubting whether you should walk the Camino Portugues as well?
    Just watch the video!

    The Camino was a life changing event for me. I sold my home in Texas and moved to Spain. I'm a permanent pilgrim.

    Very well made, a joy to watch. Most pilgrims on the camino have/want/need to sort out things in their life and get a different perspective on life while walking. You noticed that and portrayed it beautifully. Thanks!

    Hi, thanks for sharing this video ! Can you share if the sign for the Camino this route is pretty good or not ? And like how often (km) can one find a place to rest/sleep/albegue, average price for a night ? Is there a book for this route that you want to share ? Thanks !

    My only question. What is the rush? Why all the torture of the body, and the pushing to the next place?

    • @johnmcgowan9972
      @johnmcgowan9972 Рік тому +2

      If someone wants to take it easier then they can. I must say I didn't think I was rushing. There are lots of places to stay on the french camino, so you can walk short distances if you wish, and some people do that. The only observation I would make is that it is good to keep up with the people you start with, it is quite wonderful when you end with them.

    Lamentable el fondo musical de guitarra flamenca al entrar en Galicia. Sí, estáis en Galicia, no en Andalucía. La funesta manía de reproducir los tópicos españoles. Menos mal que en Santiago pusísteis una muiñeira. Además, sólo 7 minutos de recorrido por Galicia; la parte más hermosa e importante del Camino con Santiago de Compostela al final. Repito, el fondo musical flamenco-andaluz en Galicia suena como si una banda de gaiteiros gallegos acompañara la romería del Rocío en Andalucía. Y no tengo nada contra la hermosa música andaluza y la propia Andalucía.
