I always wonder what people are thinking when they say or do something that I absolutely just do not understand. Unless they are actually crazy, there is ALWAYS a reason. Couric "gets" that the normal people (i.e., Trump supporters) do not see the world the way that she does, that they actually think/believe the opposite to her own thinking. So, she needs a rationale for that. Instead of thinking through what might actually be wrong with her POV, why others may think differently (like, maybe Couric is actually WRONG about some things), she buries herself in the justification that they MUST BE JEALOUS of others' status and power. And then tries to say that she understands the corrosive power of these feelings (presumably because she has felt them in the past, but of course, NOT NOW). Most average Joes and Josephines are VERY HAPPY PEOPLE. They don't want complicated lives - they want to love their kids and dogs, love their community, have some fun, lead responsible lives, have grandkids some day. Most of us do not envy ANYTHING about the elite and powerful, who often actually lead sad, empty lives. What is so perverse about what is going on now, is aside from endless f*cking wars (where no elite lives are sacrificed), is there seems to be a deliberate attempt to bankrupt all the Joes and Josephines - we are being put under ridiculous economic hardship and distress - and why, for what? They are torturing the people on purpose. It is despicable and unconscionable. Evil.

So, I heard Ringwald say this many years ago. That her movies were not diverse enough and she was speaking specifically about "The Breakfast Club". Now, does she realize that that movie was about 5 white kids, all with Saturday detention? Does she also realize...that if she is advocating for diversity in that movie she is saying that there should have been some darker colored skinned actors playing those parts. I learned who Couric was on 9-11-2001. She condescendingly commented on a witness to the first plane hitting the World Trade Center that, “No! It wasn’t a big jet. It was a small commuter plane.” Very smug. And then the second plane hit. She was so sure of her correctness then and hasn’t changed one bit.
Agree. To me, Couric's infamous "hatchet job" interview of (then) Sen.John McCain's VP running mate Sarah Palin, revealed who Couric was, to me. "Who's the President of Sri Lanka, Sarah?". Correct response would've been, "do you know that, Katie? I'll get up to speed on that, soon, and more, don't worry.". And, Ringwald was an ex-Pat who lived in France for years, if not still. She gave up her U.S. cred, years ago. Other U.S. to French celebs(?) incl. Johnny "where's an actor/assassin when we need one?" Depp, enough said. They come back stateside to B & Moan about the U.S. Do us all a favor, you clueless elitists...keep your arrogance/smugness in France, and visit Normandy while you're there. Except for Tina Fey's SNL career (Palin), you are immaterial, nothing.

First of all, no one enjoyed Molly Ringwald. No one. We begrudgingly watched as Hughes kept casting her.
Molly is just mad because she was never asked to do any real acting once Hughes was done with her. Of course, continuing acting would've meant getting naked..... and ABSOLUTELY NOBODY wanted to suffer Ringwald's hack act while she was nude.
A wonderful commentary by Andrew the last few minutes, spot on. Aside from the fact that Couric and Molly Ringwald are has-been relics from a long time ago.
