Yo what’s up everyone,
I wanted to elaborate further with you all on why I chose to talk about my faith in this video as I’ve read a lot of comments that show this concern. Firstly, I want to make it clear that by no means do I claim these to be the views of Shuzo. These are my views and beliefs alone. I simply thought that it would be a good opportunity to share why I make these videos. Not to convert or convince anyone to become a Christian, but to be transparent with my viewers about something that's really important to me. It truly is to show how God has transformed my life and continues to transform me. Yes, I am human and yes, I fall short of perfection. We all do. But I hope that in spite of how crappy humans can be, that we can pursue love and empathy. As I said in the video, Shuzo’s message is all about perseverance and hope. Even in the darkest of days. I hope you all interact with each other in a kind way. Whether it’s on this video or even in day to day interactions you have with people. Pick up some litter on the side of the road. Wish someone a good day. Call a friend that you haven’t talked to in years. Take the shopping cart back to the shopping cart area rather than leaving it in the parking lot. Not to be a “good” person but simply to make the world a better place. Just like I have the freedom to express my faith, you have the freedom to disagree and share your own world views. But please, do it in a respectful and loving manner. You’ll be surprised at how fruitful conversations become when you simply listen and put kindness at the center of your conversation.
Thank you all for watching. I appreciate it immensely!
Beautiful, man. Lots of respect to you for spreading faith in such a way. I can tell you want to help others find the joy you’ve found, because you’re a good person. Definitely agree with your philosophy there.
I didn’t end up finding faith until my late 20s, having been an atheist since I was a young teen at that point. It was quite the journey but some people much like yourself helped water that seed in my mind and heart overtime.
I still have a lot of healing to do, I’m still a sinner. And I am by no means a model of faith, there’s a long journey ahead. But my mind and my heart is open and healing, and just like you I will be there for other people when they need it.
Enough rambling about me though. I just want to say I see you and I appreciate you. God Bless man
@@HieronymousLex Thanks for sharing :) I also had a long windy road to get where I currently am with my faith but I think it made me a lot stronger and less skeptical as a Christian as I had looked at the alternative world views and seriously compared them to Christianity. God bless you my friend!
@@micromacroooo couldn’t have said it nearly as well man, so grateful for the journey, struggles and all! ❤️
Hi Victor. I really just pulled up a search on Matsuoka Shuzo while listening to a podcast and saw his most famous video. Yours was in the auto play and I let it run. Your analysis is wonderful and even more inspiring with your perspective on the Christian Faith. I'm currently studying in Japan atm and I will like to contact you if you don't mind. I'd like to send you an email but it's not on your bio
Its very telling that you couldn't tell at all, till you brought it up, nor after, also putting it during the Mr' Rogers is 100% in context. I am not religious and i found it fitting. You did good man dont worry.
"Struggling is always better than surrendering."
This was what finally etched the message into my brain that Matsuoka had been trying to convey. Thank you.
You’re welcome dude! Glad you enjoyed it :)
Berserk's message.
This unironically made me go “Hroo-RAH”
Shuzo Matsuoka saved my life
Never give up
Never give up man.
4chan is loaded with wholesome content. Its just also loaded with every thing else
Fair enough lol
Literally going through some rough times, watched it for the memes, stayed for the message, feeling inspired already
Happy to hear 🙂 Take care!
I have him on my phone lock screen with his fist up smiling telling me to never give up I didn't give it much thought and I think back now it's because of the motivation of him telling me to get up and try a little harder. I really don't understand why the message feels so powerful but it does.
I'll be investing into a similar wallpaper soon. Thanks for the neat idea!
@@Jeeyfallover 👍

@@therightarmofthefreeworld4703nah but fr tho "thing but japan" hits way harder
Found this video by basically accident, but i love this quality calm storytelling. Even if we dont share religious faiths i still love the message. Keep it up!
Thank you very much! Glad you liked it :)
Me too.
I’m ngl, part of what makes Masoukas videos so inspiring for me is his language.
I can’t speak or hear a lick of it, but there’s so much sincere passion (and closed captions lol) that I FEEL it.
Ngl hearing “never give up!” From like a cartoon will never hit as hard as a retired japanese tennis player screaming at you to never give up and actually using good representation
I was at one point in my lowest in life, talking rock bottom. I had suicidal ideations, plans, the whole thing. But for some reason, despite feeling absolutely no passion or pleasure for life, I knew it was not my time to go. I pressed on in my misery, and through great perserverance, found the light at the end of the cave. There is always a way out of your darkness that doesn't involve taking your beautiful, unique self from this world, and once you get out of that darkness, you will be grateful for that darkness; for through experience, you were now given a torch to help others through their darkness. I have always wanted to do nothing but help others in the long run, and what better way to know how to help than to go through the experience of the one needing help? There is a true self buried deep within you, that can never be destroyed, only hidden away, and as long as you can envision that version of yourself, it will always be possible to become it, no matter what. That true self is the key to unlocking one's unlimited potential, the key to a door that was wide open, where all people needed to realize is that that they were always welcome in. Sometimes, all it takes is a spark to light a fire. I believe in you!
This was so beautifullly done, please keep this up
Never give up
Thank you so much!
Thank you for this video! I appreciate Shuzo Matsuoka even more now!
@@thestarsaligned Cheers!
Hi Victor, thank you so much for putting this beautiful, well-written video together. Shuzo Matsuoka is someone whom I admire deeply and I honestly couldn't make it through my darkest days without Shuzo's words. You've earned my sub and I'll make sure to keep watching your videos. God bless!
Thank you pilgrimss! He is a fantastic person. It's hard to put into words how uplifting his messages are but I'm glad it resonated with you. Take care!
Depression lead me to this guy and this guy lead me to you.
I hope my words were able to give you some encouragement! Hang in there dude. The best is yet to come :)
Thank you for this video. It was calming and peaceful, gave me new hope
I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Love to see it! This is just what I needed right now. :)
I can't believe I found one of my new favorite motivational sources out of the most unexpected places and times on UA-cam not gonna lie.
This guy literally radiates my energy and I'm all in for it and I just want to yell "I WON'T GIVE UP" back to him with my strong agreement that one should never give up.
I want to be just like this guy because I'm tired of seeing all the people suffering around me with my words being inefficient at times, I want them to truly believe what I say I want them to truly feel the power of these words and what I want to achieve in their thinking, and I believe everyone deserves a strong push ahead in their darkest times because everyone has to go through this, and for the world's unfair conditions we live in today, I believe we all need to look up and push these people to the top and give them attention and share them everywhere so that we can all have "little Shuzo Matsuokas" everywhere for a millennia and forward supporting the next generation into a bright future.
Thank you for clearing up some things about this guy that I wanted to look into. You're the best. Spectacular work.
Thank you for the kind words! I'm glad the video connected with you on such a deep level. Shuzo Matsuoka embodies so much positivity and perseverance. His words truly show just how capable humans are at showing kindness and compassion. Take care!
Such a needed and refreshing message :)
whenever i feel stressed about my studies,i watch a shuzo matsuoka video. It always helps me to hang in there and give my best.
This is exactly the kind of content we need more of as a species.
this is one of the first times in years iv heard someone talk about their faith without rolling my eyes. I really enjoyed your video
Glad you enjoyed it!
Every word he speaks brings me to tears. This Man is like the Sun-he shines on everyone, and his passion for life is incredibly impactful

I'm suddenly fill with motivation of hope with my own life , I'll do my best to move forward, so you can do your very best at this moment too . Face it,and keep going!
Not sure if I'm being rude or not saying this but..
I've personally had a tough life myself. (ace score: 9/10, growing up gay in the 90s in a really messed up situation didn't help) But by not giving up and focusing on the end goal, I essentially shot ahead of a lot of people and became a teacher. I throw myself at work an awful lot because its meaningful to me, but yeah. Things do get way better once you establish routines that help you become a professional in your field and you get that chance. It's not fun but nor is investing. (or farming, for that matter)
Oddly enough, I'm having a really good time atm. You'd be pleasantly surprised how understanding people are so long you focus on being a good person and so long as you can do your job. I'm just a really private person. lol
You guys got this! Keep chasing that rabbit.
Thanks for sharing. Keep on keeping on!
yes initially reaching your goal which is waiting till they legalize man but
Godspeed brother, beautiful comment
Great video, it was very well organized! The flow was perfect. Thanks for sharing your part about faith.
Many thanks. Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you! Not sure how I came across to your video, but I needed to hear this, especially today! I was having a really emotional day, ups and downs as I get close to the end of a year long project. I really just want to give up, but I know that I can't give up yet. The end is in sight!
Cheers
You’re welcome, my friend!
Thanks for making this

This... I'm glad I found this video and this channel
I needed this right now…..
Thanks for this work
My pleasure!
Great video, I loved how you've covered the case. Funny how motivational such a short video of a man you didn't know before can be.
I had 2 open tabs with Shuzo Matsuoka videos in them, this video was suggested on one of them and it helped me gain a richer prespective.
Although I have to say I got jump scared in the end haha
Glad you enjoyed it! What motivated me to make this video was the fact that no one on UA-cam had really analyzed what makes him such an inspiring figure. It makes me happy to know that more people can come to appreciate his wisdom and advice!
Sorry to hear that the end scared you haha I distorted my voice a bit for impact
beautiful man.
Many thanks, amazonheadman!
Last year (Around october) I downloaded this video into an audio in my phone, because here in Brazil was the time of the "Vestibulares" (the exams that decide if you can get into an university paid or public, and is considered one of the hardest and important moments of a students life) and I thought I wouldn't be able to get into one (my mind wasn't at a clear state at that time, anxious and all lol) . So before going to every silgle test I usually put the audio of this video and listened on repeat to get calm and motivate me. Now I am going for my second week of classes on one of the top 3 universities of latin america.
Never give up bros!
Thank you so much for sharing this! It’s very humbling to hear that it helped you so much. Godspeed, my friend! :)
@@micromacroooo hii thanks man, godspeed for you too. I wanted to share my story more to show that in most of the times, you will think that you can't do, but is just a matter of taking action, and even if you fail you take it to heart and learn with failure
Watching this before a 30 day UA-cam detox, and it was the perfect note to end on, thank you 💪🏻
Man, this inspired me to do the same. See you in 30 days, man. Never give up!

holaaaa, soy un chico adolescente con problemas emocionales, que vive en argentina, y te agradezco mucho, este video me motivo bastante, akiramenaide¡¡¡¡¡¡¡
what is said: "never give up"
what my brain hears: "never dont give up"
This video found me at the perfect time.
Im feeling worried about the future because I’m going to university in a few years and the statistic getting a high paying job in fifteen months was 80% for the best universities in my country. Also the fact that it’s too expensive to live isn’t helping.
But this guy calms me down. Hopefully things can get better but for now I gotta make things that are in my control ok.
The past has happened, you can only let the future happen, but you can make a good present happen for yourself.
bless you brother
Glad this video found me. God bless Shuzo and Mr. Rogers ❤️❤️

I'm rewatching Tatami Galaxy now. It's nice to hear Watashi's Theme.
Tatami galaxy is an all time favorite of mine! The OST is great. Michiru Ōshima is a really good composer.
@@micromacrooooI've never seen it, but heard alot of it, my favourites are ghost in the shell, cowboy bebop, and others similar to these, knowing that would this be one you'd recommend to me?
@@Righteous-db2xf Absolutely. It doesn't have the action elements of cowboy bebop and GITS but it definitely has a lot of the philosophical qualities. My favorite part, aside from the writing, is the art style. It's incredibly unique. Thematically the series tackles college life and finding satisfaction with your decisions in the face of regret which is nice to see in an anime. It's non linear so it's a bit hard to follow but it's worth it. The dialogue is also quite fast but it adds to the comedic elements. I'd recommend anything by the director Masaaki Yuasa but tatami galaxy and ping pong the animation are my favorites.
@@micromacroooo ahh the director of ping pong made it? I enjoyed that, I will give this a go when I get time and let you know, thank you for the recommendation :)
@@Righteous-db2xf Of course! I hope you like it.
Yeah, but what is the point of the struggle, though? To "come out a better man"? Yeah... for what? What's that gonna do for me?
if you’ve seen the movie “little miss sunshine” u should watch this video essay called “little miss sunshine | accepting the absurd by a channel called ‘the stories we tell’ it will pretty much answer ur question

Almost totally agree, but sometimes we need to have the right to just give up. Sometimes you had belived that you needed something either because of yourself or others, but with time you see that it is not worth it and I think in this times you'll be wiser to just give up and look after something that really matter
bruh, I almost cried at the end
Thank you, really.
My pleasure :)

I lost my job with a daughter due in a few months. It's easy to wake up every morning just to mope and curse my fate, but that doesn't make it any more fulfilling. As Christians, we are called to seek His face. How can I do that if I'm looking down at my temporary circumstances? You helped me see that through this video. Thanks!
My pleasure! Wishing you the best with your soon to be born daughter. God bless bro!
4:30 love your philosophy!
don't you dare think i missed that tatami galaxy background music
tatami galaxy is top tier

Beautiful i truly hope possibly more!!! Ill sub regardless if another pops up inwanna know this is a great commentary example. Easy to understand and clearly spoken and calm not jaring at all, if i had anything to say maybe tone down music just a tiny bit, sounds great in car but headphones its kinda overpowering. Great work and have a geat lofe regardless of more content
Thanks for the feedback! :) Glad you enjoyed it.
The version of this message which resonates with me the most is the one said by Jim Valvano, late head basketball coach of North Carolina State University. He was diagnosed with metastatic adenocarcinoma(cancer which targets organ tissues + blood vessels' cells, I think) at just 46. But Jim resolved to do what he could with the time he had rather than let his illness get the better of him; not even his appearance betrayed how bad off he was. Not even 10 weeks before his passing, he gave a speech at NC State's Reynolds Coliseum (where basketball games were held, of course) to commemorate the 10-year anniversary of the 1983 NCAA championship (State won with him coaching). Here Valvano created the quote, "Don't give up, don't ever give up," which became the motto of a cancer research foundation created in his name. Valvano gave another speech just 11 days later at the ESPY Awards when accepting the Arthur Ashe Courage and Humanitarian Award, which WAS actually broadcast and recorded. The entire speech is fantastic and includes his previous quote, but another great line is, "Cancer can take away all of my physical abilities. It cannot touch my mind, it cannot touch my heart, and it cannot touch my soul. And those three things are going to carry on forever. I thank you and God bless you all." The full version is on YT, I'd highly recommend you look it up. With some tissues.
God bless you brother
