    By any chance, do you know if this can be done in Gouache?

    • @WildCreates
      @WildCreates  4 місяці тому

      Yes it can be BUT it will have to be done in stages due to the drying time differences. I say paint it twice... the 1st round will be more of a test to see how everything reacts. This way you will have a better understanding
      Good luck.

    Two questions.
    1) Can this be done with latex paint?
    and
    2) I'm redoing my room in a sci-fi, outer space theme. I'm painting the ceiling black and sticking high res photos of nebulae onto it. Then I'm having Lowe's pull the green shade out of the photos for my walls. But I'm worried that the line between black and green will be too harsh. Any recommendations for softening that transition?

    • @WildCreates
      @WildCreates  10 місяців тому +1

      To be honest I haven't tried it with latex paint... I am sure it is possible... just may require more time and working in smaller sections.
      The best advice I can give is TEST IT FIRST. If I were you, buy a 2x2 foot sheet of MDF or Drywall ( should only cost only a few bucks ). Then paint it black and test the colors on top of it. Then you can hold it up and move it around to see how it will look in different spots.
      As for the soft transitions. This will be tough with latex paint if you are not experienced. Generally air brushing on walls/ceiling is best ( but can be expensive ). I would recommend for a beginner use the "dry brush blending" technique ( look it up on YT ) - This will help blend and create better transitions.
      I hope that helps - Would love to see it when its all done.

    • @WildCreates
      @WildCreates  8 місяців тому +2

      If you are paint with only acrylics = Mix your white paint with a little water til it becomes a creamy liquid state
      For oil painting only: just use liquid white or mix any white with a oil medium til you get a soft creamy liquid.
      Both of these will for great for making stars. I hope that helps!

      You could BUT the approach would be way different. I don't work much in watercolor so you might want to find channel that does nebulas in that medium.

      @@WildCreates Okay, so...first attempt was just that, a first attempt, and isn't worthy of sharing.
      BUT, I think I already figured out a few of the things I did wrong (waaaay too much paint to start, primarily), so I will keep at it.
      I do have one question: for oil, would you use Liquid Clear on the canvas, or not? I didn't (since you didn't mention it in the video and i thought what it would smear), but wanted to check. Thank you, as always!

    • @WildCreates
      @WildCreates  2 роки тому +2

      For LC you can use it or not - BOTH will have different feels and affects. When you add LC it will make your paints more transparent allowing other colors to pull forward or show through.

    • @WildCreates
      @WildCreates  2 роки тому +2

      Bram has great stuff - This one might be a little easier to start with. Then when you get the basics. Try painting Bram's again.
      They trick is... to go a little slow, create contrast & form the edges.
