1:10-1:14 is one of the most amazing licks I've ever heard and I've heard alot of licks, even though I forget half of them after listening to more stuff in a bout a week, this is not one I will forget. The way you tremolo pick those notes...... and the way those notes are sequenced in this simple little patter but just blends together so seamlessly like a stream, and almost "dance" around with each other to the music, it just sounds so colorful and unique sounding. I know this is really trivial to point out, as most people won't care about something like this, but for me as a guitar nerd, I find it so fascinating :)

I have to say, I've always felt that youtube remakes of songs were relatively flimsy and insubstantial. Erock's "...meets metal" series is completely different. The work put into crafting and arranging each song is obvious. This isn't just the song you know played on a guitar with distortion, this is a true transformation of a song to what it would have been had it been written as a metal song. Erock rocks the casbah, the rest of us feast on the debris left in his wake. We're not worthy!
I was wondering why Erock and Cole Rolland bother doing all these videos of crappy pop songs, then I realized that it's all about view numbers. By my calculation, with 96 videos presently and most getting between several 100 thousand and over a million views Erock probably makes at least $100,000 per year off these. Having a popular radio/club song in the title of your vid means it will come up a lot in searches. It's view whoring but I guess it pays the bills.
