It would be cool if more people did get one of these cos they are really great to watch flying around and that's not even with hot motors in them at all! The cornering is so good on them.
When I had that pinion issue I used shoo goo. Take a tiny amount and put in the big hole the motor shaft goes in. Then install it like you normally would and tighten grub screw wait 5 minutes and your good to go. And when you want to take it off its like you did not put a string on there at all
Pultruded Carbon rod is a really bad choice for a transmission shaft. It is made of unidirectional fibers that give it a very high longitudinal stiffness, but little torsional and radial stiffness. Were the car a bit more powerful, the shaft would just disintegrate into a million fibers, just from the torque. For the same reason, it is also not very resistant to to radial forces, which is why it was easily crushed by the grub screw. Just re-install the steel one and go race! That is a nice retro car. I like it very much. I was in the mood of getting one for me, but 50 Euro for each set of tyres is ludicrous! And only sold by Kyosho! That's the most expensive tyres I've ever seen, and I've seen a few. 😂 How much does a tyre set last? Just for curiosity? Thanks for the video! Awesome!
Fantastic little rc. Love running mine. Glad you took yours racing too!👍😎

Awesome video - love to see these cars racing. Could you mount the transponder over the front down by the bumper?
Awesome! Love The the car. Looks like lots of fun
Great paint job! Loctite does expire...
Watching those Fantom's go round the track makes me want one, can't afford it unfortunately. At least your car is easy to fix ;)
Good
Nice track. Nice race. Where is it?

Are you going to get the plazma?
Can you even buy a Kyosho Fantom 4wd car anymore? The 2wd did just come out. Thoughts?

They've been used successfully for decades in these 'pan-style' cars. Most companies wisely use clamping hubs.
Remember to degrease parts before you use Thread Locker. Have you used Loctite or random Thread Locker? I recommend Blue Loctite.
