I like how now they are concerned with retaining troops after most OIF/OEF vets are either out of the Marine Corps, retired or retiring. The Marine Corps and arguably the US military has very few combat experienced troops left in their ranks. You can have all of the military weapons and equipment in your arsenal, without competent troops to run them…you’re screwed. If Marine coming up are anything like the young “kids” I work with than I’m concerned.
At one point those combat troops didn’t see combat at the beginning of the war. By every war America has had the combat personnel from the previous war have left that’s why you have to train as you go you can’t rely on experience when you won’t have it if the next war is 50 years from now
