This is the one I've been searching for since childhood. This track, as a standalone song, is SO good!!! The vibe created with these semi-broken sounds is beautiful.
I think many of the macs at the time just had better sound systems. My family had macs because my step father was a musician and music teacher. He had tons of sound equipment going into his mac in his office. So, I'm thinking that might be why he was using them.
Thank you for this third compilation, for it includes the song called "Disaster Decision" (the second track) that played usually when something went terribly wrong. I can really relate to the desolate atmosphere of the song... Still gives me the creeps. ^^'
The last time I played this game was maybe 8 years ago. After filling the map with launch arcos, "The exodous" [sic] began. After they all exploded the song at 2:57 came on. I almost wept...

1:05 is incredable. That slow build up, the odd noises in the background, the siren - and then the drums kick in. Brilliant.

so did the mac version have the really bad note cut-offs or is this just a mod playback
The notes really were extended a little past their cutoff points.
