This is really another world that some Singaporeans live in. Space is a luxury indeed.

Research had now shown that multigenerational living benefits mental, social and health for families and society.

Yes, true. It inculcates understanding and tolerance too. We used to live with our grandparents and uncles in a 3rm flat and those were the good times

Multi-generation home sounds like a nightmare to many of my American friends. But, no matter how long I live in America, I couldn't shake off the Asian value and desire to live with my parents and being able to support them the way they supported me until their dying days. I would be too worrying about how they are doing if I live apart from them.

Beautiful & functional homes for multi-generational families who can live peacefully & harmoniously under 1 roof. This is a Good Blessing !
However, this is NOT feasible for individuals with difficult personalities. Daily conflicts with endless drama, distractions are most disruptive & destructive for family's mental, emotional & physical well being !

    You can have privacy.
Like what if you have separate living spaces, kitchen. Your grandparents live on the 3rd floor, your parents lived on the 2nd floor and you live in the 3rd floor.
    Separate and privacy but equal.

This home is a fantastic setting for juicy family drama: siblings rivalry, in-laws squabbles e.g. parents vs wives, wive vs wive of the brothers, fight between grandchildren. Even the maids get some action. Living harmoniously my ass.

3 generations living separately, you can achieve that. What if the 1st Gen lived on the 3rd floor, 2nd Gen on the 2nd floor and 3rd Gen on the 1st floor?
Each can have their own privacy, freedom.
And if you decide to live on your own, you can rent the floor to someone else.

Well, that’s like living in an apartment except, each generation are living in their own floors separately but financially, each generation’s expenses has reduced and the amount of income saved up has increased.
You can have your own privacy, freedom, and autonomy in a multi-gen home.
      There’s adu’s.

Billions of humans over the past 5,000 to 100 years have been losing their virginity in Western nations and China during their teenage years even when they are living under the roof legally owned by their parents. Parents have been intimate with each other over decades when their child was a baby to their child becomes an adult. There’s no problem on why humans can’t live with their parents where the married children have intimacy with each other and the married parents have intimacy with each other in the privacy of their bedrooms. It will be interesting to hear from the bankers, landlords and other stakeholders who have been financially affected by this.
