- It's quite a sad sight around Pleasurewood Hills as you’ll see in this Pleasurewood Hills VLOG, it's in a right state! Should The Looping Group invest or demolish?

Despite money going into Marble Madness ahead of the 2024 season I still ask the question as the rest of the park is in a bad shape… should they carry on investing or cut their losses?
What are they doing with marble madness? I think they should get rid of it lol those brakes are brutal
@@OllieCoaster Dismantling it entirely. Complete rework, new op cabin, reworked trains, more theming etc

Definitely invest - There's very little in terms of thrills in the East of England; with some more upgrades it could be a great family thrill park for the East -It really needs a decent family-thrill coaster however, something like Juvelen or a new style Intamin Hot Racer would be perfect here adn draw a lot of people in, Zamperla Spinner just isn't going to do that. Accompanied by some added flats, a Disc'O coaster from Zamperla and a Technical Park Areobat and Side Car, that sounds like a decent little new area!
I love those ideas Joe but do you think that is a viable option to a park in disrepair / needing MUCH more $$ going towards it than just on rides especially with a low footfall. Still worth the looping group gamble? I’d hate to see it closed but this park is in a bad shape at least visually…
Fair points, but I think so - Even if a new coaster only generated an additional 100,000 people in attendance, arguably a vast underestimate, that’s £2,500,000 in additional revenue based off the £25 day tickets - On the way to get their money back! And, extra additions help transform their marketing and allow a sea-side park to draw people in for a wider field. People from the Midlands aren’t going to drive for all that way for Vekoma Boomerang, but the UKs first single rail coaster, yes please! Ultimately, it wouldn’t even have to be huge, the short 371m version would be cheap for a thrill coaster, and still enough of a draw for most people! Even perhaps a surf coaster from Intamin, after-all, they are by the sea…
@@joebamford9312 Would general public care about a single rail? Thoosies absolutely would but we’re such a tiny little demographic aren’t we? A surf coaster would be amazing aha
Used to go a lot in the 1980s...yeah I'm old now....remember when the chairlift first opened, must have been about 1986. And I think it was secondhand when they got it! No wonder it's rusty. The Camelot building was a magic theatre back in the day, the shows were pretty good. Haven't been back since the 1990s, It certainly looks pretty neglected nowadays, I remember it being way better.
It does feel very neglected
I have family in Lowestoft so visited this park a lot as a child! Always used to love it and got tons of fond memories riding Cannonball Express and the log flume!
Iremember when Wave Breaker was the big new ride and we queued well over an hour for it!
Shame it's fallen into disrepair and I would love to see them put some money into the park and get it back to being a top notch park!
Be nice to see the investment but it would need an awful lot!
it's not a patch on what it was back in the 90's.Must have been all that Noel Edmunds house party pull.
It feels one gust of wind away from falling down nowadays
for food nip to Tesco 30 seconds drive away and grab a meal deal , food too expensive on park
I do love a good meal deal 🤤
We did that back in August
@@andrewhowell2682 love me a meal deal
I’m a local ad even I thin demolish. It’s not worth keeping it up when it averages less than 500 people a day (this season) when the money could be going to better audition at the other parks. Particularly when the better Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach is so close
They seem to be spending a little on this Marble Madness retheme but… is it worth it? It rides like trash
They need to invest, I enjoyed my first visit to the park earlier this year & it brought back the memories of Pleasure Island in Cleethorpes it gave me the same vibe, but hopefully it doesn’t have the same ending as PI, plus like another comment said there’s nothing much else rides & attraction wise in that area, if they invest it has a bright future 👍🏻
Just feels a little downtrodden
We visited back in May & could see considerable investments being made, with old rides being refurbished ,general landscaping, maintenance etc, the guest areas the park were very clean , this place has so much room hidden away which could be utilised , so I think it’s just a case of watch this space…..
Gonna need a fortune to fix
they have been painting and refurbing old rides for years tho,but never bring anything new
Went opening day friday and the fence posts next to wipout track were so rotten they were using rope to keep it together then we went on egg express and got hit by a small branch that had not been cut . If the park cant even replace a rotten fence post during the winter that poses a risk to the track they obviously are not investing. Also the cannonball express was down until 3 pm then every time we ender we overshot the station exit! Its my local park so we have a pass but my bro in law who has friends in the industry said no investment will be made as its being eyed up for housing a shame because in its day it was supposedly a nice park that has now gone 20 years of no investment since wipeout was purchased.
Hate to see it in this shape. Growing up was my childhood park which my gran worked at. In those days it was bright and a brilliant little family park which was busy and well attended but decades of lack of investment, bad pervious management has caused a dramatic lose of attendance. Shame the boat ride was left to rot and removed along with other attractions. Its hell of a long way back and the investment to bring it up to scratch would be eye wateringly risky... I hate to say it has the feel of a park that is a matter of years away from the end.
Last I heard a housing development company were eyeing up the space but there’s a bit of investment going into it during the off season so they’re at least trying to breathe some life into it…
@@LiftHillsandThrills IV always been suprised with the land around the outside fields of the park not being used that it hasn't been sold off for development to help fund some work on the park... Fair play to them if they do invest in it and I hope it works but it's a hell of a risky investment that they could put in to there other parks. That's my worry 🤞
@@DiaryOfAnAverageCarpAngler Agreed
Finally ticked off the boomerang this year at Walibi. The main reason for me to check out PWH is now gone.
Not a lot of competition over the east side of country but would need a lot of investment to get a lot of punters through the door.
It really would.. it’s nice they’re doing up Marble Madness but it’s hardly a ride people will travel for
This park needs investment urgently. I went in 2021 and the only 2 rides I think are decent are Wipeout and Cannonball Express. I rode Wipeout on the front row and loved it
I enjoyed it despite it trying to kill me
Living in the east of England this is the closest standalone park but it hasn't really been "good" in the 10 years I've been going. It's a once every 2 years park for me, it's nice to pop by and check on it but it's just sad to see it continue to get no love or attention. They added new food places last season? But they were never open and the 2 food places that were open served the worst fried chicken I've had in years!
When they added a circus tent instead of literally anything of worth I knew it wasn't going to be getting better any time soon!
Hopefully it improves 🤞
From watching this blog I think the best thing to do is invest ,especially it’s location. Mean if they knock down most of Blackpool pleasure beach , flamingo land it’s only the southerners and you Stoke massive that will have a decent park 😂😂😂
Alton Towers, the theme park with a Stoke on Trent address yet it’s no where near Stoke and closer to Derby 😂
You were lucky with the weather Sean 🌞
Yeah, lovely day 😊
pleasurebeach down the road has been investing in new rides the past few years , that’s the only real competition around there, just needs a couple of new flats to get more people in , it’s a great little park with so much potential , all they seem to do is paint rides and tart them up, but they are still the same rides , the amount of rides removed is quite a lot, it must be making money otherwise they would of closed it by now
I know of other parks struggling but still managing to keep the doors open, would be a shame to lose it
I dont want to be hated on but... Demolish. The footfall is too low and even if they were to invest competition would be to much
I actually agree with this… as much as I’d like to see it saved it just seems so far behind it would cost Looping so much to restore that Drayton would inevitably need to be scaled back on investment
I went there once, I liked it but I felt like it was missing something. Idk what maybe a few more flats but all round it was decent
It’s missing a theme park at the moment 😦
Dismantle. Use the funds/any worthwhile facilities for the other parks. Probably be the best way forwards budget wise.
Can’t argue with that
Waaaaay the home park!
Should it stay or should it go?
100% stay - the parks in a much better shape than it was 5 years ago - we just need some new rides, GCI at the back of the park would be a dream though!
This looks a fun little park.
It just needs more investment, WAY more investment
I hate going backwards on coasters so much
Definitely a strange feeling ain’t it
Sean if you made a theme park what would It be called
Good question, absolutely no idea ah
@@LiftHillsandThrills 🤣
Invest
Why? It feels like it’ll need a ridiculous amount of cash to save
@@LiftHillsandThrills Very Little Terms Of Thrills
@@VelocicoasterFanboy But with how bad it looks would you plough more cash into this park or focus on the gem in the UK crown for Looping (Drayton) and scrap this park? A housing company is already interested in the land if it was demolished
Chenoble 😂😂
😂😂😂
Invest
Any reason why Adam?
@LiftHillsandThrills it was my local park b4 I started working at towers. The park has lost 2 thrill rides in the past decade and needs some more to fill it's space. The park has potential and a lot of space to work with that needs to be utilised.
Do you think it’s worth all the extra money for a park with low footfall?
@LiftHillsandThrills with an investment the footfall would increase for sure as there would be more reason to go there. If a park doesn't change then people lose interest. They have been doing overhauls of existing rides over the recent years to make the park look better, additional rides would increase footfall for definite. Gt ymth pleasure beach added rides and events and the footfall increased. With similar investments the park would be a lot better
@@Adam._.f Feels as though the investment would far outweigh the benefit at this stage but I do hope they turn it around, wouldn’t be nice to lose another UK park
