The work is looking fantastic mate! It’s going to be such a great space and with so much light, love it! Make sure you bob that old kitchen on Facebook Market place or Gumtree, someone will snap that off your hands. Saves on skip space and make some money which can be thrown back into the budget. One man’s rubbish is another man’s treasure and all that marlarky. Looking forward to the next video mate. 👊🏽
Nice video. By the way, I think your music between speech sections is perhaps a little bit too loud. Always have to turn down in those bits then turn up to hear what you're saying. Just a suggestion. Thanks for content
Hi really nice video! Very helpful. We are doing extension very soon. It’s 2 store at the side and one floor at the back. Can I just ask you how many square meters for your back extension?
@@ThatFinanceShow ha! No it shouldn't. It looks really deep and robust and is connected properly from the bits you've shown. If you look at Miteks posi joist system that's the best system for this kind of roof. It's a timber and metal style structure, about the same costs, but it's all open inside the joist so your electrician can wire up the your lighting easily (if you're using spotlights etc). Best of all, these can be designed without the need for a structural engineer so could have ended up saving you a decent wedge over the course of the build. Looks great though, you'll have an amazing space when it's done. 👍
Brilliant stuff Tom, it's really interesting seeing a project like this unfold. Definitely going to make a MASSIVE difference to your living space when all is complete - looking forward to the next video! 👍
@@ThatFinanceShow I'm looking forward to seeing the finished result. I know a few people who have had extensions done on their homes - none of them have regretted it!
@@ThatFinanceShow You deserve it mate, you put out some great content. Really helpful and i didn’t realise watching someone build an extension was so entertaining.
Great video Tom, really interesting to see it all come together. Obviously, I have been hiding in your garden hedge watching it all! It will certainly help put house renovation costs into context.
This series is great! Looking forward to the next episode. Did you get to design the extension exactly how you wanted it? Were there compromises to be made to keep within your budget?
Hi Nick, good question. Fortunately we had a healthy budget so we were able to spec it as we wanted by and large. We did have to keep control of the spending, especially on the kitchen as you can certainly go a bit mad in there if you’re not careful. Thanks for watching 👊🏻
Best insight into an extension project I’ve seen. Well done buddy 😊
Great job and even better presentation!
That’s very kind thank you
This series was a great idea... nice work. That squawk at £500k... lol. The place looks amazing. I'm sure you are going to be very happy there
Could have been even worse, I could have said ‘half a million’ think I’d have been 🤮. Thanks for sticking with me David.
Nearly at 1000 subs!!! Well done, Tom.
Also, really enjoyed this episode - Looking forward to the next one.
Thank you! So close I can almost taste it.

This is a really cool idea. Nicely edited too.
Looking forward to seeing the roof (only a few mins in!) as it's my job! 😁
Boo! You didn't do it out of engineering timber 😅
Ah! Thank you. I hope the roof lives up to standard!!!
Oh no, please tell me it won’t fall down.

Can I ask what city this is? Hard to believe this was only 2 years ago when house prices seem so crazy now. But then again, I'm in London

I thought I saw those hedges twitching!!
Please share the measurements of extension old and new
Hi Nora, the extension was roughly 3m x 5m
I couldn’t have enjoyed this more! Great update. Can’t wait for next weeks 😌
Ah thanks so much! Really appreciate that. Hope it lives up to expectation!
What was the measurements of the extension
Do you listen to the compound!? I recognise the beat
