That starting factory design... just wow! I love both! I'm thinking if you run circular tracks going in and out of the factory, if you have a research setup after it exits the factory, it will start filling up the research once your primary storage in the factory is full.

29:00 The delay for the crate maker is actually related to using a step conveyor on the output. If you use a (more expensive) "unload station" belt, this unloads newly-made crates immediately instead of on a 1-second delay, and lets the crate maker run full speed. However, using that with refiners requires you to use drones or claw trains to move the new crates off of the unload station. It's a good alternative for a bit later on when building costs quite as constrained.

Also if you have the truck stops at the END (next to there exit) the crates will not have to be on the map as long which means you can make more for faster throughput.

If the trucks were coming from the right they would have to take the crates all the way to the left where as coming from the left they just need to move a short distance to the right before those crates can be "used" again. imgur.com/AixIVIn
I have been thinking about the possible implications of this game should modders get involved. At present there are only 4 elements, I believe. Imagine going to Pandora and mining Unobtainium. Or finding Nickel and Cadmium on your planet so you become the battery guru. Those are just a couple of thoughts off the top of my head. I have no doubt that with the creativity of some of the modders out there this could become a truly amazing game.

Is anyone having problem with multiple trucks spawning? i get only one truck, I have even put 2 entrances and 2 truck stop stations and I still only get 1 truck
Better to use the crate recycling method. But then this video is kind of "old" already so you've probably figured that out. Saves the crate maker monthly cost...

Hey KoS, I've used your 3-5 factory blueprint, it's really efficient. Only thing is, my drones tend to cluster inside and go around the whole thing for some reason. Have you experienced this issue?
Yeah, tested it, it was a truck on the far left side. After selling the stop they stopped moving there. Started using claws on the border trucks, that resolved the issue
KatherineOfSky it is high priority and load any resource. Could I have the unloading belt too close to the road and that might be a problem? I will relay it out a space over when I get home tonight. BTW, I love watching your tutorials. Been watching for a couple years on the factorio game and when I saw your beta of this game I just had to get it regardless of the things that have annoyed you. KatherineOfSky I found the issue. My belts out of the box maker were turned off. Now I am making money. I have 3 labs hooked to a small container and a looped track to all the iron ore.
ok, got game. did a similar setting - my mines don't dump ore into carts. Reworked it - and still nothing. Everything has power. Truck stop at medium. Now the connections to the mine and dumper don't look connected but I cannot get them closer. Not sure what I am doing wrong. Going to rewatch this but any insight would be awesome. I'm missing something I am siure
Nice video, Sorry Your voice just keeps me listening lol. I really like this game, it's simple yet intricate in other ways. The Truck entrance thing is a bit annoying as you need to keep them all together making branching out near impossible.

Is it possible to place truck stops on the same road tiles directly across from each other? Also is it possible to place one stop rotated 180* to fit in the angle of the stop so they mesh together like gears? Still hard to tell small details like hitboxes from video alone

You are correct! I was thinking about storage to storage (in which the direction does not matter). But from Storage to process-machine, yes they definitely do matter! Thanks!
30,000 tons is a 3-month average. That is late LATE into the map. At the beginning of the game, (which is what this aprticular tutorial is for), money is far more important.
@@KatherineOfSky no no no.. all good trucks accompanied the crates to the gates of heaven... im talking about the crates that sucks by conveyer belts to oblivion whenever the containers are full. Can you try to put unloading belt directly under the container intake, instead of after? And disable destroy all crates option.

That starting factory design... just wow! I love both! I'm thinking if you run circular tracks going in and out of the factory, if you have a research setup after it exits the factory, it will start filling up the research once your primary storage in the factory is full.

Thanks for the starting tutorial. Take a look at the remote connectors in the tech tree. Will make your life a lot easier.

Try playing the game now, totally different and harder to make quanties for research as well as main quantity is now 30k
Love the mini factories!

The limit on crates is 30, so it's not really an issue.

Late game, you can completely delete your roads and replace with trains :-)

I have had them clustering inside, but not going all the way around. Does the layout of your truck stops entice this behaviour?

Laid everything out like you show but my drones do not move crates to the truck, they go away from the truck like the plague
Make sure you mark the truck stop as a higher priority than Off :-)

Branching out is part of the game and how you manage your transport options. I have a factory that covers the entire map :-)

No is the answer to both questions. Their hitboxes are rectangular. Once you place the stop on teh road, you cannot place a second on the other side.
I am using a laptop and a trackpad how can I rotate the camera i am facing alot of difficulty can someone help me out here
I would buy a mouse. (Seriously... you cannot game with a trackpad. Buy a cheap mouse. No need for anything expensive)

I'm not destroying crates: they are sold into a life of unbridled joy at hugging their contents in the underworld, where the trucks travel.

U can loop them unload from crates and transport also but it's just worth when far away from the trucks
