Quick question! I remember you posted on TikTok about getting the NHSC scholarship and I am about to apply for it. Do you think there was anything that made you competitive or made your app stand out?

@@jvdshow omg yes I wanted to do a video on this too but I haven't had the time. To stand out on the application I would say to really put your heart into the essays because that's all you get really. show them how passionate you are about primary care and let it reflect how much you desire to impact. Be strategic with who writes your letter of recommendation, be sure that they can attest to what you wrote in your essays (send them your essays too), and make sure they're able to highlight your service, commitment, and desire. If you have any specific questions let me know.

@@jackieojo Thank you so much! I'm not sure when you applied but this is the 2nd year with the new application. You don't submit a CV anymore. All you submit is a transcript, (1) essay, and (2) letters of rec. I applied last year and didn't get it and I think that the new format makes it harder to show how committed you are. I focused my essay on my mission trip but if I could submit a CV they would see all the other ways I've volunteered and served in these communities. Sorry to vent but this scholarship would be a blessing but I have no clue how to showcase everything in a single 500 word essay.
