- If you have ever watched a car review on the internet, there's a good chance it was starring Matt Farah. Truly an OG of the UA-cam formula of automotive journalism, Matt's work has inspired an entire generation of aspiring car nuts.
What you might not know about Matt, and what this video might not even fully show you, is how nice a guy he is. For someone so deeply entrenched in the "Hollywood hustle", as he puts it, Matt still finds time to be generous, kind, and of course, have a good laugh.

I really like this vibe. I met Matt when he visited dubai once at a cars and coffee. Really humble, really down to earth and you can tell he's genuinely in this for nothing else but the love of cars. And to the people that poke at his sponsorship plugs, the guy goes out and finds quality sponsors and strikes deals with them just to give you free, engaging, simple, quality content. I have a lot of respect for this dude and everyone I know in the car community has a lot of respect for him too. Hopefully he visits the UAE again, and finds worldwide sponsors to do go do worldwide one takes.
And G&G thank you for your content as well. May you and everyone else in the online car community reach greater heights of success. You guys are the soul of the car community by giving us content to ignite our passion. Thank you.

Matt is one of the coolest people I have ever came across on the internet. His character, his reviews, his work ethic. It's all so inspiring. This is the 7th year I have been watching Matt on UA-cam, and as long as he's willing to go another 7 years, I'm willing to go as well. Without a doubt, he will go down as one of the best UA-camrs ever, one of the best auto journalists ever, and one of the most genuine people ever.

Great video guys! I've had the pleasure of being on his podcast a couple of times now. Matt and the whole crew are really fun to hang out and shoot the breeze with.
Absolutely loved every second of this video. Matt is like the one guy I will always willingly watch on youtube no matter what it is. From doing a one-take with a boat to driving beater cars with Rob Spaghetti. Seeing what he does with the Smoking Tire, among other things, shows that all of us car guys are just random people who are completely normal despite this, otherwise weird, obsession with the machines that get most people from A to B, to and from work, every day of their lives.
That was really cool! Nicely done; production quality is high, & I as an editor appreciate that! Interesting story & an enjoyable watch!

This is top notch work right here. Well thought out and very engaging. I love The Smoking Tire and eagerly await every video that they make. Matt is the perfect figure for this scene. When he gets behind the wheel of any car and starts to talk about it I immediately start to get a feel for how that particular car would be like to drive. I don't know how to properly explain it but when Matt drives a car he really lets the viewer get a understanding of what kind of machine his hands are currently in control of. Thank you Matt for what you do and who you are.

Awesome interview. One of the most entertaining and interesting interviews I've seen in a long time. I've followed Matt for a few years now and have always enjoyed Matt's work whether on The Smoking Tire or something he's doing for Drive. His work is more down to Earth and more honest than a lot of the automotive videos out there. He's living the dream and certainly deserves the recognition and the rewards that come with all the hard work he's put into it. I see too many UA-cam videos put out by kids who grew up with a silver spoon in their mouths and don't know what it means to work their asses off just to get by. Videos by people who think that they're better than someone else because they're driving around in a half million dollar car that daddy's trust fund bought them. Those types of videos lack the heart and soul that you get with videos like Matt produces which are produced by someone who truly has a passion and knowledge for the industry. Gears & Gasoline is a lot like that and I've got to tip my hat to you as well for producing good videos and representing the love and passion people have for their cars. Gears & Gasoline although a young channel, is off to a good start and I look forward to seeing each new video. Keep up the great work and don't lose focus on the reason you started doing this in the first place.

There was a time when I wasn't a huge fan of Farah, but he's really grown on me over the past years. I now watch all his videos and listen to the podcast every week. Seems like a legitimately good dude.
