Over the past twenty years, a lot has changed for the business analyst: professional standards have been developed and then changed and changed again; the role has deepened from just a requirements-focused role to one with a broader understanding of business strategy, business cases, and stakeholder hidden agendas; and now with digital-powered business transformations, the BA is needing to understand available data sources, the governance and cleanliness of the data, and how to use the data to create new business opportunities and improve business performance. Clearly, the role is constantly evolving.
