I’m newer than most to the art of catching catfish and I do know a lot of tricks and caught some big fish. But I was wondering if any of y’all knew why swivels aren’t commonly used in a lot of different rigs???
Every, I mean EVERY time I used this rig I caught the catfish by the OUTSIDE of his mouth, mostly by the catfish EYE. The CATFISH goes for the BOBBER every time, when I pull, hook catches his face.
It's a lot like a Carolina rig, but that peg float got the gears a turning in my ole noggin on different ways to fish this. That peg float can be used in so many different ways to catch so many different kinds of fish and get the fish biting. Great video, brother.
Haven't gi6ve fishing in twenty years and it's still cool to see
ALWAYS wet the knot before tightening!
I'm new to fishing...why?
I’ve always heard this but never actually done it and my knots have never failed.
@@tonybotros6193use your mouth and lunricate the line to reduce friction and lessen the chance of the line snapping at the knot
@@wagyu2589yep, definitely not necessary, you can however create a weak point in the line if you pull it dry
@@tonybotros6193 the friction can stress the line

The knotless knot is easier to tie for Snelling up a hook
Why did i only hear this in my left earbud
I think I seen some guys using that rig on Santee Cooper.
tip: if you dont have a bead clamp down a split shot sinker above the knot also works
Question. When you make a rig from scratch do you knot the rig to the end of your main line or??
Yep 😊
Can I ask why exactly a 3 inch peg float? I usually fish in medium to high current and try to use 3 Oz no roll sinkers.
This rig has a sinker and a float. The float makes the bait hover off the bottom a few inches.

What bait is light enough so it doesnt just sink the in line float? Which heavy bait should i avoid?
With a 3" float, you can use a decent size chunk of cut bait.
Chicken liver

Interesting. Are you using octopus or circle hooks?
That’s behind the hook
This would be good for trolling but I personally put a 4 oz bullet wait then a swivel and about a foot long from that is were I put a circle hook
I prefer the knotless knot. I’ve never had a catfish break me off and it’s easier
It definitely is easier. I haven't had a problem with a knotkess knot, but many claim they have had one come loose.
@@FishingExplainedthey come loose no matter how much you twist for me at least
What type of hook is that
Looks like a circle hook
This is why I haven’t gotten into cat fishing this shit is sooooo extra😂😂bass fishing is simple💯
Not even remotely accurate. More gizmos exist in bass fishing than anything else in the US fishing scene.

@@FishingExplainedlook that video you made was great but I could of tied 3 different bates by the time you finished that for bass fishing
Can you just use a bobber
No, it will fill with water. It has to be foam.
Not a secret at all. You can find hundreds of videos about this rig.
Dang that's alot of videos
