Fantastic work! What great attention on detail. Wow. I enjoyed all twelve parts 2 times right over:-) I have a question. What type of glue stick should I put in the gun to ensure that the glue will come off cleanly?
    Thanks, Gus

There's a link to the company and hot glue I use on my "Stapleless Stripping" Shop Tips page of my web site. See - laughingloon.com/shoptips2.html

Great videos. The ootek is a very beautifull kayak. It would be great to see the same but for a north star, fire star.......
    Keep up the great work.

Hey Rob, great thanks for making your video series. I love to see/learn from how others work and to see how different boat makers work through their own set of circumstances and designs. I've been studying kayaks heavily for over a year now and have about settled on my "best route" to making one or three and getting my own boats in the water. I grew weary of the tupperware SOT rather quickly!
I'd like to hear your thoughts on the differences between your Ootek and the Disko Bay and your Panache as well as who/where each might be better suited. If you've covered elsewhere, please redirect me. Also the link to "Panache" is wrong, it directs to "Dark Star". I had to edit the URL to find the Panache page.
As functional, fast, and fun as they might be I'm just not interested in the low-nosed "Star" series type of boats. It's just a styling thing, I do appreciate their heritage and function.

Panache was my first Greenland based design. Previously I had paddled canoes and whitewater canoes and kayaks all of which were soft chined hulls.
I'm a big guy so I designed a big high volume kayak, in Panache, to carry me and camping gear for the extended trips I like to do on Georgian Bay, Lake Huron.
Panache has little rocker and you must be comfortable with leaning into turns. For a detailed description please see - www.laughingloon.com/panache.html
Disko Bay is my interpretation of a true hard chined Greenland design built using wood strip construction. The design is quite true to a surveyed boat from Disko Bay Greenland. It handles and feels differently since it has a hard chine hull. The fore sections narrow quickly restricting leg length and shoe size. Best for the under 5' 10" person. For details see - www.laughingloon.com/disko.html
Ootek is a soft chine hull which is quite neutral in wind and wave, quite sea worthy in rough waters the culmination of many years of design experience. for details see - www.laughingloon.com/ootek.html
Panache is hard to turn for a novice not comfortable with leaning out on the paddle. Disko Bay will respond more to "Edging" and Ootek is forgiving of most sins.

Thanks Rob! The high-peaked foredeck had piqued my interest in the Panache, and now I know why it was designed that way. I'm quite interested in camping/touring once I get paddling and a partner, but likely won't start with a high-volume/hard-chined boat. Just don't see the "group" compared much and I quite get that "evolution" of your designs happen over time.
Also the "crossed-link" still exists. The "Panache" button on the Pricing page, www.laughingloon.com/pricing.html links to "Dark Star" Also, while there just now glancing at the other links I see that "Ootek -X" links to "Twin Star". Easy to get around if you catch them, but I'm guessing a lot of boat buyers might not. Took me a few clicks to figure out the issue and get around it. I poked around further and didn't see any more crossed links. Cheers and fair waters.
