Starting is so much easier than completing. But I'm getting old enough to value completion in this lifetime and use that as a motivator now. Haven't started my boats yet. Have been compiling plans/info/data for a couple of years now. It'll happen. Rob makes a tight video!
How were you so easily able to scrape the stain off of the light wood? Also, didn’t the scraping of the light wood require you to then sand the surrounding wood level to it and therefore remove stain from that area as well?
I never handle fiberglass cloth with bare hands because oils and water can contaminate the coating. I also wear a dust mask when cutting fiberglass, after I saw thousands of sparkling glass particulars floating in the sunlight, one day, as I cut the cloth!
That's a beautiful boat, Rob. I'll try to plan a visit when I'm in Maine (from New Zealand) in September. One question, do you mix the dye with water, alcohol or something else?
These videos inspire me so much. I am the biggest procrastinator ever.
Inspiration always comes before perspiration!

Awesome job Sir!
Beautiful work. I ordered a set of your plans for the wee two yesterday. I hope mine turns out that nice.

Nothing like a hide full of glass particles to keep a fellow itchy and scratchy all night long. BTDT

I mix the dye with water.
What dye do you use? Color/brand?
