Would really like to know more about the power plant. Any links to the manufacturer or engine spec's available? Edit; Think it may be the 'PBS TS100A' Turbo-shaft engine, but not sure. Would really like some information/clarification and a link to the manufacturer if possible, thanks.
How long is the takeoff roll, and what's the rate of climb at max gross? How do those figures compare to a similar aircraft with a big Continental? I know Canards tend to have long takeoff rolls, but I assume the TP is lighter than most. I don't know how the power/weight ratio compares though.
As awesome as that is, the TXL has much, much better performance. 250kts cruise at fl250 at similar fuel burn. Heck, economy cruise is still 25kts faster and like 30% less fuel burn
The turbocharged Velocity XL indicates around 250 kts according to Velocity's CEO. The Velocity V-Twin is reported to do around 180-185 kts. This gentleman is saying that this Velocity Turboprop can achieve 195 kts. Hmmm.
Interesting concept. The turbines are nice, but fuel burn/efficiency is their drawback. If it was a 300-350 hp in the Velocity XL, the increased fuel burn may be tolerable due to being able to get the speed out of it. Then again, flight duration would really suffer. Darn engineering compromises!
Spend hundreds of thoussand in engine, and thousands more per year in fuel only to have the same performance as the piston version? Why? WhY/ Why? Just so you can burn Jet A? Again, why, why, why? I mean, if you got360kts out of it, OK. but just to fly at 200 knots? Why do this? Money to burn?
That has to be the most beautiful Velocity I have seen. GREAT JOB.
This is the most beautiful Velocity of all. I want one! Congratulations!
Beautifully executed!
Those exhausts are holding the plane back 100%
The seats looks amazing. .. actually I got more interested in the finishing inside
My goal is a V-Twin with two 200hp Turbo-Prop, each costing 85k .
A total price tag under 700k . with a 10 hours range at 210knots
Best aircraft ever!
Do you think with a single engine but like 500 hp will be better fuel economy and more speed?

Tom, What engine did you use? Conversion cost to replace an existing gasoline repro.?

Need more information on this set up please!!
Awesome...
Very disappointing performance. At that price point I would expect to be moving out at over 300 miles an hour.
The engine is rated at 241 shp, roughly what the piston engine puts out. I would love to see one with a Walter or P&W with 3x the hp
It has a spacious cabin and not as cramped as the 300mph aircraft. It is also safer that most of the speedier rivals with its stall manners.
He wanted something that didnt run on Avgas so the higher top speed probly wasnt an issue simple
Those are exhaust or air brakes??
That's awesome. What engine is that?
Where can I order one!
Seriously, only 195 kts? I can do that in my Lancair without all the extra expense.
Yup…. Guess you are paying for ‘reliability’.

TXL? Is this the engine or the plane?
@@armdude2000 It's the airframe configuration Twin engine Velocity XL.
Without pressurization, not sure 🤔 about usefulness?
What's with these huge turboprop square protruding exhausts?
Learn how a turbine works. You have 1800+ degree exhaust to get rid of and a lot of it.

A ls3 corvette engine is close in all performance characteristics with better efficiency. Nice build though.
Auto engines in aircraft are not practical for more reasons than can be listed in a comment.
