Okay - not only does Mike Pope design and build an amazing preamp, but he also is obviously from another planet with his 'other-worldly' intonation and playing skills.
It's nice to see a demo with a real bass player rather than a guitar player struggling to play bass with a pic. Nothing wrong with pic playing mind you. This gentleman who also builds instruments plays very well and he understands the nuances of the instrument he built.
Out in Vegas with your old college roommate Jeff Zinn, he's one of the best bassists in town! Look forward to getting one of your preamps installed in my bass!
Love it hut what impresses so much is his relaxed melodic playing style-- not quite classical, not pentatonic blues or rock, and not quite jazz, although the cadence is certainly jazz-like -- not showing off but rather letting the instrument do the talking, I must admit that I've never heard of a stringed instrument having oak as a component before-
I tried and heard some Foderas that were not that cool (like, on a Fender level) , but this is a really fine example. Boris Kozlov from Mingus Dynasty has another great one :)
Jukebox both have their places and I think it’s good to have both for different situations. I love fretless electric bass and I felt the same way for the first few years I played fretless but 20 years later I have been playing both and I can’t see not having a fretted bass in my arsenal.
I read where Victor Wooten said he would like to take some lessons from Mike Pope. That is the highest praise I can imagine for a bassist.
Wow I love this fretless especially that bridge growl
Beautiful bass and incredible tone, Fodera continues to blow me away!
Yeah, that sounds killer! It's in good hands as well!

He's a killer pianist too
mike is such a badass
That bass is a true work of art. Both the tone and looks are to die for
Insane talent playing a stunning bass! This video helped push me over the edge to pick up a used Fodera Monarch PJ. Fantastic.
Absolutely gorgeous fretless! Well done 👍
Super sound!!! 👏👏👏👏
What a sound! Playing is virtuostick as well - It's so free and clean
Mike your the man!! Fodera is a beast
Absolutely fan of ur work as an artist and of course the preamp. Flexcore is the ONLY pre I'd actually buy.
Man that is a beautiful bass.

THis is honestly the best sounding fretless I've heard, and I don't even like fretless electric bass

I’m not a bass player but what a bass player! Chops for days.
i switched to fretless a few months ago and i dont think i can ever go back. i feel so limited on a fretted bass now.
