Garrett and Andy ultimate gentlemen and pros. Never tilts off ranting, seen some bad beats and coolers and still just professional
Actually Andy tilts bad.. he just starts playing every hand lol its funny to watch.. noticed it when he got coma'd by Jacky in the 420k pot... and in this stream..
He just tilted last week after that massive bluff with q8off
Two of my favorite players.
For the 2nd hand, Andy can play raise OTT with more hands because Garret 1.5x pots way more than he should in 3-bet pots as an exploit. First of all, playing like infinite deep Garrett really shouldn't be 3-betting any offsuit K-high hands, but he clearly does so his range is wider than it should be.
On a T high disconnected two flush draw board at an SPR of 15 OOP player should mainly play check with some bigger bets (around 80% pot or less) because there is so much money left to play for and OOP is mainly going to have overpairs for value, which do not want to play a massive pot when there are so many dynamic rivers. Therefore, when Garrett bets 1.5x pot he mostly has air since the vast majority of his value hands like JJ+ would bet smaller and likely even his high equity semi-bluffs like A5cc would not want to get blown off its equity and therefore bet smaller. A good expoitative adjustment is to raise high equity draws with no SDV like the hand Andy has since he is going to get Garret's air to fold and put his draws in a disgusting spot being OOP.
There is very little sense in criticizing Andy's play in regards to how he should play in theory since both Garret's preflop 3-bet and turn overbet as well as Andy's turn raise are far from any lines a balanced player would take. Clearly Garrett was exploiting Andy's tendency to overfold against big bets while Andy was exploiting Garret's tendencies to overbet too often with air or thin value. Think the commentator's bias towards Garrett was showing there since he made no comment on Garrett's nonsensical (in theory) turn overbet while heavily implying Andy's turn raise is super unbalanced and not a good strategy lol
Great explanation
you do a better job than them sir
Pleasure to read these type of comments and I hope to never run into you on the table🤣
A very balanced comment ty
Agree with this. I think the raise from Andy is what I would play in that situation to fold some Garrett's bluffing hands eg ace high, king high
Norm is a true OG for declaring he never paid tax on poker winnings lol
If playing at a casino you don't have that luxury as they will collect the tax prior to payout. If a private game what the IRS doesn't know won't hurt them.
@@tecwzrd In cash games the casinos don't tax u whatsoever.
Cash game what tax it’s not tournament no tax no jackpot no tax
@@oldmancannabis3026 Good to know :)
he could just be saying he didn’t win enough to pass the threshold to be taxes. Or he lost
These commentators are sooo bias towards garrett.. if garrett made that turn raise of 80k and got a fold they wouldve gone wild...
For real, what a sick raise
Garrett isn’t even that good
Does Garrett tip them after the show ends?
@@Hiiamsamm u clearly dont have any clue about poker then
You're just supporting the Chinese bug eaters , Garrett owns the Chinese all day
Love watching Andy play - no histrionics - always very correct and just gets on with it - just a great example to all pokers👍👏👏👏
Agreed. Love the speed with which he acts.
always very correct except that last session
Agree. Andy the true professional
Agreed
Norman Chad gives off Boston Tea Party vibes
This! Didn’t quite know how to articulate it but this is it.
I really feel like Garrett has way more air than value when he overbets turns on boards like this. I mean does he really overbet turns with AA,KK or T9s as much as he does with draws/big draws? because it certainly feels like it doesnt.
2 of my favorite players to watch play poker. Incredible players 👍
Same
I wouldn't have any raises ? That's why your the commentator and not Andy 🤣
Good to see Andy get some
The old Andy is coming back.
Love it how 120k is a nice “little” pot, just a casual most peoples three years salary
I feel like this commentator just likes to hear himself talk and wants everyone to know how brilliant his poker philosophy is. In reality, Andy made the correct play against Garrett who was exploited for overbetting at a high frequency.
In a GTO sense, the commentator is absolutely correct. In an exploitative sense, maybe not so.
I agree. If Garrett has JJ+ he can’t like that raise so probably can never 4 bet shove and if he calls Andy has all the outs, also by raising he knocks out Garrett’s bluffs and weaker holdings and he wins outright. Also by raising his draw he sets up a big river bluff if he misses. In reality, Garrett got outplayed. Commenter is trying to draw cards to win and Andy just played poker.
Garrett just got outplayed and the announcers hate it. Personally, I usually see Garrett over bet the river when he is strong and not the turn. Andy may have sensed that and therefore raised. I do not watch Garrett play like a hawk like some people but just my two cents
I see that Andy stop shuffling his chips on the river lmao. The boy is learning.
Is this to not give a tell?
Commenter is off, If Garrett has JJ+ he can’t like that raise so probably can never 4 bet shove and if he calls, Andy has all the outs, also by raising he knocks out Garrett’s bluffs and weaker holdings and wins outright. Also by raising his draw, he sets up a big river bluff if he misses. In reality, Garrett got outplayed. Commenter is trying to draw cards to win and Andy just took it to the streets and played poker.
I can almost hear Norm rolling his eyes at the ramblings of his young partner.
Can’t wait for Andy to get back in the zone.
Andy exploited Garett in this spot better than Garett exploited him in the 2nd hand. I don't know why the guy doing the commentary decided to negate Andy's play in the 2nd hand because they are intentionally taking these lines because they have picked up stuff about each other and they deviate to playing more exploitatively.
The announcer is more focused about being balanced in those spots rather than making exploitative profitable plays. The whole point of balancing your ranges is so you mitigate being exploited yourself and to make exploitative moves against your opponents in order to maximize value in spots
The commentor cannot see what is happening in that hand infromt of him since he is more worried about long run gto balancing---Andy obviously has picked up Garett's tendencies and is exploiting them beautifully here. It was like a mozart piece: finesse
Andy raising the thurn ovb is solver approved. These guys dont make many mistakes. F playing this lineup, suicidal.
ANDY THE GOAT
Yeah! My favorite poker player
Andy really is one of the best
Agree
"You're suppose too"
🤣🤣
7:00 i love the commentary kudos mate
This commentator “IF AND I” as IF he’s playing
that last hand is just a spot where andy knows garrett, he knows probably that over bet on turn is usually a sign of weakness for garrett, he lost a hand folding to the same line most likely
After Andy's tilted game the other day, and winning big pots today, I'd like to quote a saying from DotA players: " Comeback is real! Gg ez."
Unfortunately this stream was before Andy booked a 300k+ loss
OG
@@cashton745 how does one "book" a loss?
What a great turn raise. What is the commentator talking about?
Commentator doesn't know what he's talking about, there are lots of good reasons why he raised that turn
Like deny equity and for board coverage allowing Andy to bet most cards on the river. Announcer is a guy who throws in fancy terms to impress the viewers.
Because Andy knows Garrett will and can play big hands, so he always go heads up with him.
You can see the last hand of the video he can bluff the opponent.. but he folds
Damn that 2nd hand was played *brilliantly* by both guys. Like, both of them did exactly what they were _supposed_ to do in that situation, neither made a single mistake, & this is 1 of those rare instances where Garret just flat out got outplayed in the hand. Considering neither of them had a made hand (Andy had the 2 big draws, but Garret had the best hand w/K high), It's especially impressive & played out almost as if they both had x-ray vision, & somehow knew exactly what the other had. 👏🏼🤴🏼
In the first hand, the commentators fail to mention/realize that Andy could have AK - a value hand which Garrett beats.
It’s funny these guys battle with respect but in any other casino table people are usually battling with hate and vengeance lol
Garrett making it very clear he pays his taxes on his poker winnings lmao. My guy, like 100% of us, except for Norm apparently, has no interest in an audit.
I see Mr. “nobody” at the table. Dont make him pissed
Probably should be more scared to say that with 85,000 new IRS agents coming
I really like Andy's play, Garrett was the preflop 3bettor and Andy has the range advantage on that medium to low board. Garrett won't be happy to get it in with overpairs that deep, and Andy can fold out some of Garrett's draw too.
So you're not raising a set on the turn if you're Andy? Seems like you're losing value against a lot of draws.
Beautiful commentary
It’s painfully clear that most of the comments ate clueless on how spot on the commentator’s analysis was on the last hand…..
Andy eres el mejor ya te lo avía dicho en tu canal échale ganas
Always good when Brian Cranston makes an appearance.
6:45 well done Andy I thought you may have done that on the flop but I see your point. Nice . More $ on the turn
Last hand is kind of an eye opener for me. Andy raise AQo, check last vs one missing on medium-low board to fold to coordinating turn. I guess they're not going to war every hand, or Andy thinks Jon is so tight he's got too many pocket pairs in his range that he wont fold to a cbet on this type of flop, idk.
Commentor talking nonsense, perfect play by Andy, out played garrett
Commentary is from a GTO perspective, in which the commentary is absolutely correct.
That second hand was a standard raise with a huge draw. Couldn't the commentator see his hand?
Can someone explain what do the commentator mean by this? 6:02 when you have a ton of bluffs you bet big. What is the logic
When Norman Chad says: I haven’t paid a single dime on my poker winnings, come get me!
He never or almost never played where session like now is being fully recorded and logged!
So IRS will not even entertain idea Bcz it almost impossible to prove what happened to all cash!
Garret may pay and may not pay!
But Garret is smart enough on record, while so many are watching and can watch later, to say “in the US we have to pay on poker winnings, even in cash games, no matter what”
That’s a Smart Cover my ass comment….
Love andys play.. No fear!!!
OG
Commentator: "he has nothing, but a bluff-catcher here...." talking about Garrett who is having AJ two pair....
Man people are hating on goone in the comments section
Fuck taxes. Especially poker sports betting or lottery winnings. The government should not get their hands on any of this money.
If you have to pay Tax on cash game winning, they should cut your Taxes when someone loosing, right?!!
You can write off your losses
gambling should not be taxed.
I don't know how this works in other states, but in California, you can register yourself with the IRS as a professional gambler. When you do that, you do have to pay taxes on your winnings, but you can also write off your losses, the same way any business would do. For the majority of us who have day jobs (and don't play poker for a living), the only time you get taxed on your poker winnings is if you win over a certain amount in a single session. I believe the threshold is $5000. When you go to the cage you would get a 1099 tax form to fill out. Doesn't matter if it's tournament winnings or cash game winnings.
Honestly stopped watching HCL for awhile after Andy left. Glad to have him back.
The guy asking gman about his taxes put him on IRS tilt. 🤡
The tax on gambling thing is ridiculous to me…. If you lose 200k one year but the next year you win 50k now you have to give the government a cut?
Why don’t they throw you a few bucks to help with your losses
The first hand is a call sure he gotta think about it for a minute but if you’re folding two pair in that spot you’re a nit
Isn’t AJo a bad hand to call 3 bets with?
I agree with commentator. I don't like a raise on the turn against the overbet in the second hand. The call everything approach seems correct to me.
Provided it's balanced I think it's fine. Does Garrett ever call with worse, obviously not, but you're still always drawing to the nuts (Garrett AXs can't call) and have a lot fold equity.
I can see the commentators point of view and I they had shorter stacks I would agree, but since they both had phat stacks I would have done the same as he did. Small chance to win outright and if you were to bank and Garrett did have the big hand, you're getting paid big time.
Norman Chad
You're the Best!!
Knowing now that this A grade battling between these two will forever be consigned to the history books makes me kinda sad.
You don’t have to pay taxes on table games.
If all poker cash game players paying tax I would just say the same thing oh please don't bs.
Is that Al Michaels?
“When you have a lot of bluffs and your opponent knows it you bet huge” … I’m sure I’m just dumb and all but what?
This video's commentary was weird for me. I disagreed with nearly everything they said!! LOL.
That's rubbish you have to pay tax on cash game winnings how could the IRS possibly know what you're up from one day to the next. Secondly, 'winnings' over what period? You could be up one day but down over a week or up over a month but down over a year. It's stupid. There's no way to legislate it effectively.
this announcer should pipe down on acting like he's teaching poker school, especially when the hilarious Norm is there to entertain us
About the second hand: i am simplyfing my strategy and Just calling with 0% raising turn the commentator says. Thats why you are commentating and not playing. You saying on the turn overbet that Is massively unbalsnced towards bluffs, and thats true: so why not having bluffraises with q High? Just for the sake of keeping a simplified strategy? Bah
Do I get a tax rebate for my poker losses?
Norman the Chad
that was such a nice raise from andy. normlay u dont have a lot of raises there... but garret is so much oberbetting... this was clearly an exploit from andy
Most people lose at gambling!
someone with a brain actually does the reverse, throw in some bluff raises first, then allocate some value raise frequencies.
Nice opinion commentator, you aren’t Andy and that’s why you aren’t in these games lmao. Can see the whole cards talking about how to play when Andy made a great move. 🤡, not Norman the other guy.
What happen you lost do you file a lost, lol
Lol. Cash games are 100% tax free
Can’t wait…
Featuring Bill Nye
IRS will come and get him
Wait, I thought Garrett was the greatest poker player on earth. What happened? Does Andy have to give his winnings back to Garrett?
Why does Jon always has to play the tougher line ups? Never seen him in a soft one
He doesn’t draw viewers (great guy and great name though), so he’s probably stuck as a seat filler. He’s the opposite of Wesley who draws so many viewers that I’m pretty sure Ryan left a seat open just for him and advertised him on the Friday show two weeks ago and Wes never came and I don’t think he wanted to play on the last Friday show a few days ago either but Ryan still left a seat open for him and let him buy in for 20k
@@jh0720 thanks, makes sense, unlucky for him
Garret the Goat 🤑
Commentators are always under the table for Garrett with no hands. Come up for air and wipe your chin
Good luck doing a tax ordered on a poker
Commentator is way lean towards Gman
Maybe GOTPPR, Greatest of that particular poker room. I'm not even going to watch.
Andy the better player
Can Andy ever have AK in the first hand?
With a J on the river and that bet sizing, he never has AK there.
garrett the luckbox knows that andy is tight....and andy knows that
commentator is irritating, if you are so good go play with them mr gto wizard
Commentators really need to level up a notch. Kinda hard to listen to.
.
This is Hollywood poker scam,to all the wannabe poker players,
Fastest hand they ever played. Was this edited?? Andy is like watching paint dry normally
Why is Norman Chad talking on HCL? He is the worst WSOP commentator, and now he is here to ruin HCL? He should keep his random comments to himself and talk about the cards on the table. Unsub.
Editor post too many videos of Andy getting outplayed and making bad bluffs, hence this clip trying to save Andy a bit face. Andy is GOAT? LMAO
Garret should stop making these weird body movements, it makes him look like he's not 100%.
Talking strats is necessary, but this commentator dictating them to us is amateur stuff, esp for a Friday stream
🤣🤣🤣
