I don’t think people realise how important a father figure is to a young man

    • @IIETMII

So true. I’m a secondary school teacher and the kids without dads are usually the most troubled.

I’m also a secondary teacher and will 100% agree with this. The absence of a father, especially to young boys, is devastating in most cases.

The absence of a good and involved father. There are troubled kids with the father in the home. Just because the father is in the home doesn't mean he is any good. Or he is involved or a decent human. I've worked with kids and there are kids having huge struggles with their so called father in the home

Women want us to hide our feelings. At my darkest moment I cried and the mother of my child actually laughed

    • @murrayroy9384
      @murrayroy9384 2 місяці тому +5

@@MR-bq1cy here’s how I look at it and this is just my opinion.
First, I think that says more about her than you.
It’s the notion of ‘be a real man’. To me a real man is a man that stands on his own two feet, decides for himself what he is and what he does and is not persuaded to change his actions because of what others may expect of them. If you do change it’s because you decided based on your own outlook and not because of others. Finally he is never ashamed to be who he is.
So for me I really couldn’t care what that woman would think of me. It’s only what I think of me that matters. I’d never change for someone else, woman or man, because if I did them I’m acknowledging they have an influence over me. A real man decides for himself what he is, can or should do. That’s not to say I ignore everything, but it’s my decision, I’m my own man, I’m the captain of my own ship and no one else is going to steer my boat.
In this context for me to hide a tear is denying the truth of something. I obviously believe it to be a truth or I wouldn’t cry. So why would I ever be or ashamed that. If I cry, that’s me, telling me, that I felt something that is real. Something I consider to be true and by hiding it I would be conceding that I’m mistaken or wrong. I could never do that.
Any person, man or woman, who laughed at me for shedding a tear I really wouldn’t care. That’s because to hide it away would be to deny that person what they earned. To hide it would be disrespectful in my view, to myself and to the person they are for. So I’d only ever wear them with pride.
But I’d always remember that the person laughing at me knowing they have no respect for me or the reason for the tears. That person for me is the S**t on my shoe and if they want to put themselves there I’m more than happy to oblige.

He came from a council estate and didn't get signed as a professional player until he was 21.
It was very late, and I think he was a bricky at the time.
You could always tell he was proud to step on a pitch and was and is so grateful he got the chance.
He never did and still doesn't take the position in life he has for granted .
He is down to earth and loves the fact football got to be his life.

I moved to canada in 2000, i stood out in my class. I was in 2 nd grade and i predominantly had female teachers which isnt a porblem at all, i was bullied a lot. I didnt have a voice to stand up for myself until i came into the 3rd grade.
I had my first male school teacher in the 3rd grade, he noticed i struggled. He would take extra effort to make sure i would not be left behind with the school work. He told me one day when every one was bullying me, he said this to me in a soft voice - they are only doing it becasue they can see you are hurt by it. My dad didnt come to Canada.
So he was someone who taught me about being a human beings. I got a voice that year and i stood up for myself ever since.
He beleived in my the most. I pray that more men become teachers. I think there are many boys who will be blessed to have a man who cares about them.

In this day and age of footballing presenters that are divas...and who are up their own ass...playing God etc.....to hear someone like Wrighty ...whose a legend in his own right...talking honestly...passionately...from the heart...it really is a fantastic piece of footage.
    From a Cov fan.

Boys need men, to mould them into men. Had a spitfire/typhoon pilot as a teacher. A truly amazing human being. Thanks Mr Walker.

Mr Pigden and his late wife had a child, but, the baby died. He also lost his wife quite young.
Such tragedy in his life and, yet, the man was the epitome of love, care, empathy and compassion.
