- Team CFVY is already one of the strongest teams in the RWBY series and now, with their semblances revealed in After the Fall, the potential of the team is incredible. How will they grow as the series continues? And what heights will this team reach? In this video I explain what each of Coco Adel's, Velvet Scarlatina's and For Alistair's semblances are and how they might get stronger. I would love to see what you guys think about this team as well!
Coco' semblance can be paired really well with Jaune's Semblance.

I can imagine a climactic battle where Jaune amplifies Velvet's semblence so that she can instantly take in everything going on in an entire city, then using Fox's semblence to communicate a strategy to everyone and Jaune and Coco both boosting Weis's semblence to create a giant knight that basically one shots just about anything.
I mean, the knight isn't really dust. So I doubt it will be effective. But that's a hype scenario

I think that Coco's semblance is to increase the velocity in dust so they become more explosive, but I am not sure
As to how Fox's semblance can evolve, maybe he can send people really loud noises so that they become disoriented and just generally get a headache

Since Coco’s semblance super charges dust would be really cool to see her incorporate dust into clothing or her body (like how it was mentioned in the dust focused World of Remnant). Imagine: Coco goes to a fancy ball and it gets attacked, Coco amplifies dust woven into her dress to send out rings of flame around her as she spins around.
I think that would be really cool :) I hope we get to see more cases of “dust clothing” in the show! :)

i'm just imagining velvet imitating ozpin, immediately being able to pick up on hundreds of years of experience.
Velvet has one of the best semblances of the team, but her camera only has a certain amount storage which restrict its use greatly. Does her brain have a limit? Probably not, we have to see. Also once all the relics are collected the gods comeback, and the world is either saved or destroyed, and it might be destroyed unless something drastic occurs which saves the world from destruction... again
When side characters have more OP abilities while the main characters had basic limited potencial combat effectiveness
I hope we see more of Team CFVY.

Fox reminds me of the Way the Martian Manhunter was used in the Justice League comics or Miss Martian in the Young Justice TV show as a telepathic relay station connecting all the team and keeping a psychic link between them.
With Coco's semblance I think it's less amplifying the aura for bullets and more of her amplifying the force/nature of the objects she uses. Kinda like a mix of Yang and Jaune in a strange way.
Then with Fox if you and his semblance and Jaune's semblance, you get Professor X.

New theory for Volume 8: team CFVY shows and Jaune amplifies Coco’s semblance to make the dust more powerful and to launch Amity Tower.

Velvet's semblance is literal plagiarism, that's why every college student loves her.
I remember seeing a video that mentioned Velvet's biggest weakness with her semblance is that she doesn't copy physical traits like muscle or endurance. In other words copying a skill and agility based fighter like Ruby or Blake works well but copying someone like Yang or Yatsuhashi (or as the guy in the video highlighted, Hazel) would end a lot worse for her because she wouldn't have the power or toughness to back it up.
So you're saying she needs to get yolked?
I thought that coco's sembelance was to amplify dust and that her bullets were made of dust and thats why they were so destructive
I like Coco Adel and I think it's pretty clear that some of the Characters use Energy Rounds over Ballistic Rounds.
Velvet needs to adopt a secondary weapon(s) besides Anesidora (her camera). As awesome as Anesidora is, especially with her photographic memory semblance, it's extremely limiting, to the point where Coco has to tell her when and when not to use it. If Velvet had a secondary weapon, say like a simple sword, suddenly she's useful in every fight - especially when she can apply Weiss's, Jaune's, and Qrow's (plus others) to that sword.

i think coco's semblance does apply to swings but not as much. during volume 2 she was able to slam down a beowulf causing the ground to break

In a lot of ways, Velvet is both the strongest and weakest huntress. She is strong because she can copy anyone perfectly, but on the flip side, without anyone to copy, she has nothing.
Also, perhaps it was explained already and I just missed it, but why do Velvet's weapon copies only last for a few seconds each?
We also saw her take a photo of Weiss's partial summon. I wonder what that would translate to when Velvet uses it. What about taking a picture of Salem's powers in action?
I also can't help but wonder if her semblance could evolve enough to the point of being able to temp mimic another's semblance. Can you imagine if she copied and used Raven's portals? Or Weiss's glyphs?
Agreed, if Velvet is caught on her own against Grimm with no pictures and no one around she is not in a good spot, but if she can find a weapon of any kind, her semblance will still let her remember every fighting style she has seen. I think she is strong no matter what.
I think the reason her weapons fade fairly quickly is because the photo is used to generate the weapon out of hard light dust and it fades over time. Since the photo is a one use thing, there is no longer an image to fuel the shape the hard light dust would take. If that makes sense
Weiss' summon is part of her semblance so I don't think Velvet could copy it but if she could eventually copy semblances then she would be very over powered.
velvet cannot copy Weiss or the Schnee semblance I general. Though semblance is specific to a person, the Schnee's semblance is hereditary. There is not going to be an easy way to copy something that's genetic. It's an especially unique semblance, particular to that bloodline. Well that's my opinion.
velvets ability wouldn't just be photographic memory as that usually doesn't allow you to copy how someone fights or acts she is more like taskmaster with his battle chameleon ability

Something that's always bothered me about Fox's weapon were the blades, the way there positioned would mean he would have to move his arms in a sorta inconvenient way in order to use them properly, unless they can move outward.
Maybe Fox could create a visual link to see through another person's eyes through his semblance, allowing him and his team to be aware of almost all angles.
I love how Velvet is basically the "Shirou Emiya" of the RWBYverse
I'm sorry, but I think there are some real flaws in the analysis for Coco.
1) 1:25 Like any machine gun, you're never seeing the results of a single bullet in the damage. The bullets you "see" are actually tracer rounds, used by the gunner to help correct their aim. Tracers are spread throughout the ammo supply, so for every tracer you see, 5 - 10 other rounds are being fired. Even relatively slow-firing machine guns fire multiple rounds a second (like the M2, 650 rpm, or more than 10 rounds per second). An electric gatling gun like Coco uses would be firing thousands of rounds a second. So you're not seeing the result of the "first bullet destroying a Grimm", you're seeing the first several hundred bullets destroying a Grimm. If each of her bullets could truly destroy a Grimm, why have a weapon that fires hundreds of them before you can get your finger off the trigger? You're wasting so much material and energy, when all you need is a bolt action or semi-auto rifle to do exactly the same amount of damage to your opponents. Yes, the gatling is cool, but it's like using a nuclear bomb to clear out your rat infestation.
2) 2:25 There's a reason why there's no such thing as a man-portable gatling gun, no matter what you may see in the movies. Just the weight of a gatling gun and it's associated ammo would be too much for a single person to carry; the recoil of shooting it would simply drive you backwards and send the muzzle(s) in directions you'd have no control over, assuming you held onto it long enough and it didn't simply flip out of your hands immediately. It's why all true machine guns are mounted and usually crew-served, one person is just not strong enough to hold and control the weapon. I once semi-jokingly said that Coco's semblance had to be super-strength, simply to be able to hold her gatling gun for more than a few seconds at a time - and that was when it was in it's briefcase form, not firing. The laws of physics are a bitch, and then you die. Of course, this is anime, so the laws of physics are at most suggestions.
3) 4:40 While Velvet firing her hard-dust gatling gun against the Paladin didn't do much to it, a few moments earlier we also saw Coco firing her actual gatling gun against a Paladin, with virtually identical results (i.e., no apparent damage). So while Coco's bullets may do a lot of damage against a Grimm, they don't seem to do any extraordinary damage against metal robots.
Interesting, I am not very knowledgeable about guns so thank you for clarifying this information, I appreciate it! I would like to offer a couple counterpoints though. From the look of Coco's weapon, it doesn't appear as though it could hold many thousands of bullets as I would imagine the bullets are larger than 9mm rounds, but I could be completely wrong. With this being the case could it be that Coco's weapon fires at a slower rate than the even the slow firing machine guns we know and thus maybe it's only the first 50-100 that destroy the grimm?
And the fight against the paladin, it is possible that Coco was not using her semblance to full effect against the paladin out of concern that bullets may ricochet and hit her teammates. Aura can block a regular bullet but if Coco went full force, I'm not sure the people around her who had depleted aura already from fighting would be able to take that hit. I have no evidence to back it up but just offering an explanation as to why Velvet's gatling was similar in power to Coco's at that time. What do you think?
@@PhoenixNight Even if Coco's gun isn't firing at the rate a normal gatling gun does, even a slow-firing machine gun would have to have several hundred rounds of ammunition to be worthwhile (my second point). And you're correct, those rounds are generally considerably larger and heavier than a 9mm handgun round. Most machine guns fire .30 caliber rounds or so. You can look them up and see that they're considerably larger than 9mm (they're rifle rounds, so they're 2 - 3 times as long and heavy as a handgun round). Perhaps, since Coco's semblance allows her to enhance the destructiveness of her rounds, she can use smaller rounds to achieve the same results, but my point is still valid - unless you're firing several hundred rounds, why bother with a machine gun/gatling gun? And even if the rounds are no bigger than a 9mm handgun round, you're still talking a LOT of weight, and even more weight for the gatling gun.
Your second point is quite possible. Concern for ricochets could be a factor such that Coco wasn't enhancing her bullets. However, if she's not having any effect on the Paladin, why continue to fire? At best, she'd be a minor distraction. Modern tank crews don't worry about someone shooting small arms (battle rifles) at them, as the bullets just bounce off, like Coco's seemed to be doing.
I think it's just a problem with the writers either A) being in the same boat as you (i.e., not familiar enough with firearms to realize the problems), or B) not bothering to think things through, or C) just saying, 'Screw it. It's anime, reality doesn't enter into the picture."
Yeah because a rapier that shoots mini lasers and shotgun gauntlets are totally real weapons people could use.

Since Vol 2 with the CFVY debut and after the end of Vol 3 I JUST WANNA TO SEE ALL TEAM CFVY BACK IN THE SHOW BECAUSE I LOVE THEM
If Velvets semblance is having a really good and powerful memory, would it be harder for Yatsuhashi to erase it? Also, what would happen if Yatsuhashi tried to erase Oscar/Ozpin's memory?
I would love to see jaune and coco work together to boost an entire armys weapons, or boost yatsuhashis attack to equal a small nuclear warhead. Also fox and raven would make interesting team members because not only would they be able to communicate teleapathicly but also be able to instantly regroup in a fight.

You can upgrade telepathy you can increase its range or it destructive capabilities like destroy cinders mind or make it so he can take a person's consciousness out there body and is able to put it in a item like a sword or nunchucks

I wonder if Fox could learn to 'hear' his 'inner voice' as someone else, say, as Rwby for example, and this project that voice into say, Weiss's head for deception purposes... or simply learn an opponents voice and project his ideas with their voice into their own heads to seed discordant ideas in a persons mind.
All Velvet needs to be the best Huntsman/Huntress is to use Anisadora to create the most magnificent mustache-beard combo

I think that the evolution of Fox's semblance might be that he can get information out of somebody's mind. For example visual information (seeing through their eyes) and the like.
I wonder what would happen if Velvet took a picture of the relic of destruction.
Coco has a support type semblance line Jaunt who can amplify other's aura and I suspect add take it to increase his own
so in a strange way, could Coco and Jaune have the same semblance, or at the very least the same Type of Semblance?

In the book Before The Dawn, it was shown that Velvet has been combining different fighting styles and techniques into her own unique style. As Coco herself says in the book: “Velvet may fight like other people, but nobody fights like Velvet”
Coco+Jaune(+Doom soundtrack)=every major villian in the series(minus salem) turned into red mist.
The world put them apart because they would have broke the world of remmant.
a potential way to upgrade telepathy would be [aside from a range boost] to both 'hear' and 'speak' on lower conscience levels. So for an example with allies, as-is if he tries to tell them to duck for some reason [about to get hit in the back of the head] there's a lag-time from having to consciously understand the warning but if upgraded enough he could send the thought so far into the subconscious they don't hear it but instead their body does it as though on instinct or reflex. Cue rumours of team CFVY all having precognition/hyper-senses ^~^
I dunno, I think Velvet's semblance is a little on the weak side. Sure, being able to copy a person's fighting style and weapons is advantageous in the sense that you can find a hard counter to another fighting style and optimize based off other fighting styles, but she effectively has no semblance. Which means that she is at a disadvantage against anyone who has a particularly strong combination of semblance and fighting style, such as... most people really.
Ren, Blake, Jaune are more or less people she would excel against, but about 2 thirds of most teams could handle her 1 on 1 fairly easily and realistically she can only rely on half the skill of a given person's fighting style. For example, Weiss almost exclusively uses her semblance, Ruby heavily uses her semblance, Yang is only really most effective when using her semblance and is otherwise a fairly sloppy fighter with above average strength. Velvet would absolutely struggle against heavy dust users and more powerful grimm, but she would likely be at an advantage against fighters like Pyrrah who barely use their semblance, though I'm not sure if physical capabilities factor too much.
Pyrrah is undoubtedly the stronger fighter, Nora as well, but if her ability allows her to match their strength, then she would definitely have the advantage, unless intuition and strategy enter into the picture. Pyrrah seems to be a natural genius at fighting, which could mean that she adapts to Velvet copying and changing fighting styles too rapidly for them to factor into any advantage, while it might catch less advanced fighters off guard. Relative powerhouses like Ruby would just blow through any change in fighting style with her semblance though.
if you thought coco Semblance by it self is strong just think that if Jaune Arc use his Aura Amp Semblance witch intensify another person's Semblance on coco.....she will be basically shooting a minny gun with a power of a Railgun per bullet.

One odd detail
It is likely she has a mindset of a computer when it comes to weapon types, like general classification, but before it used to be devided into individual weapons instead.
Jaune buffing Coco buffing an army would be a very interesting combo.

I believe Coco's semblance (Hype) only affects dust.
And I wonder if that means she Can make a Dust Bomb much more destructive? If that's the case Coco + Jaune + a Dust Bomb = Doomsday weapon!

Her semblance isn’t a straight up visual illusion, it’s manipulation of someone’s mind, so theoretically she might be able to? But only if she’s aware of his telepathy. She could definitely mess with his hearing though, but his telepathy would still allow him to know where she is

@Whiterose Petal Tale i always believed that jaunes semblance is that he could just amplify whatever aura could normaly do for the people of remnant (like speed,strength, durability,healing and enhance whatevere there semblance is etc. I just looked up what aura can normally do for the people of remnant mixed with the powers he had in grimm eclipse cause it looked similar lol) Its ok to be a support character but i just want jaune to be able to have the strength to fight cinder once again to avenge pyhrra. i know he cant do it alone so ruby will help out i just want jaune to put in half the work in the fight rather than just let ruby defeat cinder cause she is the main character.
Also we dont know if the arcs could inherits some semblance lile the schnee. Maybe his great great grand father that fought in the great war had a similar semblance but the the family of huntsman wanted to live a life in peace so the next generation of arcs never had their aura unlocked maybe some of jaune sisters had their aura unlocked but like you said it depends on their personality so there might be a chance thet they think the same to protect their loved ones even if it cost them their life and have the same semblance. Im not sure
Fox could also probably read a person's mind, which in combat would allow Fox to literally read a person like a book,
the next attack could be as op as they want but they sure as hell aren't going to hit him any time soon.

Ruby’s gun is a DMR, a Designated Sniper Rifle, it’s like a watered-down sniper rifle so it naturally wouldn’t hit as hard, and it also depends the caliber of the bullet and the kind of dust used
Yeah a dmr uses subsonic rounds as opposed to a typical sniper round that travels faster than the speed of sound in order to deliver more accurate shots
If Coco’s semblance can’t be added on to physical weapons like a sword; how do you explain her dropping a beowolf in one shot?!
beowolfs are particulary weak in comparison with nevermore and so. Ruby can easily cut through them, and everyone in the show that are a hunter can take down a beowolf

I wonder if Fox's Semblance could HARD COUNTER Emerald's... Plus with how useful it is, I'm curious of why CFVY had Coco and YATSUHASI fight in the duo rounds and not Coco and FOX... Especially since he could have scouted out the opponents' locations, relayed them to Coco, and she could mow them down very easily. Just something to think about...
This would have been a great strategy if they (or anyone) knew Emerald's semblance.

Velvet's semblance is called MIMIC, not "photographic memory".
