I watched Attack of the Clones on May 4th this year. I also found newfound appreciation for this movie!

Yoda is strong and badass, he kicks ass, he saves heroes, Padmé is incredible, strong, badass, courageous and beautiful, funny and elegant, she exudes a greater femininity, she's funny, endearing, with greater class, as beautiful as ever, while being a real badass and courageous woman who defends her freedom, the story of Anakin Skywalker is one of the most beautiful stories of all time, a magnificent tragic story, the Lore is extraordinary, extremely rich, gigantic, with infinite possibilities, very detailed and well supplied, the Jedi Order, the Clone Wars, the Sith, political evolution, the Republic, Palpatine's manipulations to bring down the Republic and annihilate the Jedi, the number of peoples, of world building and civilizations, a truly extensive, gigantic, extremely rich universe, with infinite possibilities, that makes you want to travel and explore 🤗💥🥳 everything is exciting in the Star Wars prequel, which is the best Star Wars trilogy, the richest, the most complete, the most exciting, the most elaborate and the most rich in Lore, in diversity, in background, in development, in world building and in content 😍🔥💥 as well as the advance of digital cinema, the creation of high-definition digital cameras and the advance of digital special effects to create new worlds, new technologies, new environments and new peoples, long before James Cameron's Avatar .

Watching the Clone Wars Series gave me a new appreciation for these prequels. You see so much character development that happened between Episodes II & III and hits so much harder when you rewatch these movies.

Attack of the Clones is not only the first Star Wars movie I ever watched, it's my second favorite Star Wars movie after Revenge of the Sith. This movie will *always* have a very special place in my heart.

This is my second favorite Star Wars movie only behind Revenge of the Sith
I think for the love story makes sense even if you don't disconnect it.
In the real world for starters, women will seemingly prefer the bad boy, over the nice guy a lot of the time when they are in their early 20s.
And we're all acting like being awkward is just this giant turnoff. Some women like that kind of thing too.

The Darth Jar Jar rumor comes from Lucas himself. He said one idea he had was making Binks into a secret Sith Lord. Where all his accidents from the first movie were intentional distractions.
Been saying how criminally underrated this movie is. It's personally my favorite prequel although I do love ROTS this is just pure SW fun.

This movie has been a favorite of mine since ‘02 (EpIII is still my all time favorite). But now being an adult watching it and listening to the score separately (like in the car) I have such a bigger appreciation for this film.
The score is really what sells it because it really fills in that emotion of a fantastic plot. A society on the brink of chaos with the war machines shifting into full gear, a detective noir mystery, and a forbidden romance that’ll be destined for tragedy as war looms closer. Follow that directly with the opening to ROTS and the “war hero” version of the Skywalker theme up to Battle of the Heroes and it’s like an opera

It my favorite star wars movie. Every part of it hit for me, especially the romance scene. They are both awkward and sheltered young adults who never had opportunities to build up ample social skills. Oh yea, and also first dates are usually pretty awkward lol. And the sand line memes are really annoying, that line makes tons of sense for multiple reasons given where he's from and what he came from

The romance in this movie is definitely supposed to be awkward and toxic. Anakin and Padme are two very lonely people who have no idea how to manage an authentic relationship. Their ideas about romance are superficial and their connection is based on their shared feelings of being idealists who are wronged by the corrupted sides of the institutions they devoted their lives to.
I agree. Moreover when Anakin. For example is being weird, all the characters around him cringe or are like “why”, clearly showing that it was scripted for him to be awkward which MAKES SENSE for the character. I resonate with a troubled person rather than a gigachad who does all the right things and says all the cool stuff at 19 years old.
The hero and villain walk parallel paths right up until they diverge too far. R.I.P. child Anakin.

I remember the hype before Revenge Of The Sith. I think it was the first film in my life where I could feel such a hype.
I recently showed my wife Star Wars for the first time last month. I had a hard time working out what film to start with since she is extremely picky with films and utterly hates anything Sci-Fi or superhero.
I hesitatingly chose to show her episode 2 since I thought episode one is kind of meh and you don’t need it, of course I wanted to start with 3 but I couldn’t since episode 2 is a must watch to get the info about the situation and the characters.
Long story short she actually said she really liked it and we’ve already gotten through episode three and we’re going to start the OT soon.
She appreciated the story a lot.
This should’ve been episode one.
Why? Episode 1 goes hard and shows anakin leave his mom, lose his mentor, be shunned by the jedi, and meet padme.

I always liked this movie. My favorite part of it is Obi-Wan's side of the story. It feels like a Star Wars murder mystery that leads to an epic crisis of galactic proportions.

I’ve always loved the prequels. Not every fan of them is a revisionist, some of us always have enjoyed them. I will admit it could be down to being the exact age they were made for when they came out, but I unironically enjoy them every time.
The Star Wars prequels are masterpieces
Growing up with them (I was 2 to 8 when they were released) I've always considered them worse than the original trilogy but not straight up bad films. While The Phantom Menace is still mediocre, Attack Of The Clones and Revenge Of The Sith are phenomenal pieces of cinematography. Just the whole young Obi-Wan arc is enough to make those films great because McGregor really nailed his role as Obi-Wan. Hayden was pretty mid but in Revenge Of The Sith I'd say he did pretty well.
People think this is the worst SW movie but it’s actually average and is one of my personal favorites. Is 3:54 in episode 2? Doesn’t look familiar. Padme never has a senate scene in episode 2. She’s on the run the whole movie.

AtoC gets a lot of hate for the love story and some other moments but to me on my rewatch as well, I found it to be pretty strong with more moments than Phantom. Phantom suffers from also having young Skywalker. Wished Episode I also started when he was older, to help flesh out the person we see in Revenge.

I can’t buy the clone wars (I’ve watched all of it) owing to the sheer difference in voice and behavior between Anakin in the show and the live action.

It's cool that you liked it more this time. I like both Phantom Menace and Revenge of the Sith more than this one, but everything you said here makes sense. I've definitely come to appreciate Hayden Christiansen more over time, but his dialog is so much worse in this than it is in Revenge of the Sith and that's a huge problem. This would've been a completely different movie if Anakin was just portrayed in a way that was more likable and relatable. There's a deleted scene where Anakin meets Padme's Mom and Dad on Naboo. It's a huge mistake to cut out scenes that humanize the characters like that.

My quick take on every movie of the skywalker saga;
1-Phantom menace: dogshit aside from the intro and duel of the fates. Btw, wtf is wrong with Queen Amidala, why does she sound like a Brit having a stroke?
2-Attack of the clones: fun Jedi master obi wan detective adventure? Yes please, also, Dexter Jettster is the GOAT. Anakin is a cringe lil punk but fine.
3-Revenge of the sith: dope af, order 66 is hype beyond belief. Love it.
4- A New Hope: 70’s space opera perfection, makes the prequels dialogue sound even worse in comparison.
6- Empire Strikes Back: THIS IS STAR WARS, best movie of the saga, every single line from Yoda is ingrained in my brain and soul, luminous beings are we not this crude matter🐸 bruh… common, also, I am your father!!! PEAK CINEMA.
6- Return of the Jedi: Luke is the shits!!!!!! And I mean that in the best way possible, that is Luke Skywalker the guy who is against all odds, even when everything seems lost he won’t bend his morals for the emperor, won’t give in to the dark side and won’t hate his father, despite all the bad things he has done. THAT IS LUKE SKYWALKER. Again, peak cinema, and yes, I love the Ewoks.
7-force awakens- copy and paste plot from 4, really y’all killed Han without even reuniting with Luke?

8-the last jedi- THE BIGGEST DISRESPECT IN CINEMA HISTORY, this was fucked up, Luke is a bitch on this one, also He and Snoke are dead af because the director wanted to say “gotcha!!” at the theaters apparently. Most of the movie is about Kylo and Ray wanting to fuck, but both have daddy issues. Worst part is, it could be a great story, they fucked up at the script and purposefully, I hate Ryan Johnson to this day and Kathleen Kennedy should be in jail.
9- don’t even gonna bother with the name, it’s the one where apparently somehow palpatine has returned, dogshit with glitter, y’all killed Luke for this??? I love Attack Of The Clones. It is SO much better than mediocre The Phantom Menace. I like that the atmosphere here is much more serious and darker compared to the first one which was just too childish in tone. The acting got much better because Ewan McGregor was a bit stiff in The Phantom Menace while here he is just extraordinarily great. The Battle on Geonosis is definitely a highlight of this movie as well as the fight with Count Dooku. What to say more? It's just an amazing film.

The CGI is still beautiful (the world-building expansion, the pod race, the creatures, Sebulba, Watto, the gungans, Coruscant, Naboo...), the acting is great (Natalie Portman, Ewan McGregor, Liam Neeson) and the script is very interesting, perfectly introduces the universe, the characters, the political stakes, and is much stronger and fleshed out than that of episode 4.

I read the book and it was fantastic... but the film is let down by its direction. A scene that sticks out is the elevator scene - great actors, but it was so clunky. Ewens chuckle was so false, it pulls you out of the movie

I wasn't excited seeing episodes 1 to 3, lots of action and Star Wars but it grew on me. Lightsaber duels and expanded world. I can see past the weird midiclorian stuff too, because how awful episodes 7 to 9 are.

Having just seen Phantom Menace in the theatre this past weekend, I realize my prequel ranking has been off for a while.
While Attack of the Clones has some very bad dialogue, it also has a lot of really good action and fun moments. Phantom Menace has far less good stuff and far more mediocre.
