@@kuroyami6289 In my experience when gluing very dry wood it tends wick the moisture out of the glue quickly and reduces its viscosity. Generally most folks will put glue on both pieces negating that issue, however you end up with an excess of squeeze out to clean up. So I’ve always dampened both surfaces and applied glue to just one of them. I’ve had zero failures doing it this way and it also reduces the cleanup provided you don’t go overboard with the glue. The bond strength of glues these days is phenomenal and if you have well prepared surfaces a thin film is sufficient and don’t over tighten the clamps.
❤ super glue lits better sound and never comes off again.let soak in lots 3.long 6inchc clamps add 1inch block on fixed end to jack up over the braces ❤😮clamp tight exact check a couple times . increase the sound lots n clarity 😮 peace glue around edge too
I wondered about that too, but I think with it's age, hide glue may have been used, and that stuff is easy to break. Violin repair videos make the same sounds when a top is being removed. Just a guess :)
What did you use to measure how straight the bridge was? Or did you just use the area from the old one? Also what is the name of that big clamp you used? Thank you! I’m about to reinstall the bridge on my 12 string so this is perfect haha.
The only way to reattach it is to completely remove it, clean up the mating surfaces and bond the bridge with new glue. In this case TightBond, which I would not have used. You always want to use hide glue for reattaching a bridge.
@@Jackofallthetrades holds tighter, and hide glue bonds really well to hide glue so any future repairs will go a lot smoother (not to mention that this guitar was probably put together with hide glue)

How much would a repair like this cost for someone else to do it? I wanted to repair my grandma's 60 year old classical acustic guitar but I wanted it done right by someone who knows what there doing.
What type of glue? I need to change the bridge on mine(true it's a acoustic not a classical ) ....and i also need to find some clamps..if not i will make some out of screws and wood pieces🫣
Rapid fuse could be your friend. It’s made by Dap. Red top bottle. It’s not rapid, but way better than wood glue. It’s clear. Less time to dry and stronger.
Hey, I have an old spanish cheap guitar my best friend gave me. Eventhough I have great guitars. This is the one that holds the most valued, my friend was kidnapped and murdered. How can I get in contact, I would love for you to fix it.
How come the bridge wasn’t heated before being removed? Also, no masking tape to protect the top from getting scuffed up? What about using some sort of maker or tape to make sure the bridge was aligned correct when it was glued and clamped down? Not trying to hate, just genuinely curious
It’s nice to see someone else with the sense to dampen the gluing surface a bit before the glue up. It helps immensely with working time.
Can you explain to me how dampening the wood before gluing helps? I was curious when she sprayed water on it.

@@joeyoungs8426 Very interesting. Thank you for the info.
Working time? Dude.. it's Titebond
@@dawsonispetty I stand by my explanation.
Beautiful job Tanya.
Use a clothing iron to loosen and soften the old glue. It helps alot.
Easy to see how much pride you take in your work!!!🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
love these videos
Tip: An easier way to get a more balanced shape when you were carving is to go with the grain instead against it. It's much more easier and effective.
Шикарна струбцинка, ще таких не бачив! 😮
Умнічка Танюшка! 😉
Дуже цікава та відмінна робота! 🤗
You should really use some heat to help loosen the old glue, other than that, nice job.
Amazing work as usual. Really impressed.
You are amazing!
I love what you are doing
I need to get that style of bridge clamp👍
Какая умничка. Господи
I LOVE that color on your nails
Muy bueno 😊 Gracias por compartir

Null test it...because that's bs
Where do you get the clamps?
Do you not heat up the bridge before you work on it.? All I seen a luthier’s heating up the brydge First.

Thanks! I have an old classical who's bridge has been ripped off. Hopefully this will motivate me to fix it finally?!?!
que capricho parabéns
Star bond is a good product also.
no heat just torques a knife under it dry and rip rip rips it offf. NO
And no tape round the bridge to protect the surface of the guitar from the knife 😱

That guitar plays a song without it being played. It has many stories, played by many hands.
wow, so how long do you leave the clamp on for?
No heat to loosen the glue? Hmm.
Can titebond 2 be used? Only glue laying around here.

Titebond now makes a hide glue that’s premixed. This isn’t what was used but just thought I would share

original Franklin Titebond is favored by many, like Tanya
Get sharp chisel first, then cut off the black nails with a hammer.
Afiget what big strings

I don’t think you should be cutting the top surface of the wood like that. Not how Dan Erlewine would do it
