It's rare to find people who fight the same struggles everything you said is facts I took on a 2.2 million dollar contract for a apartment complex I had experience in concrete but far as pricing rebar and how to charge I learned from taking the losses caused I lost on that project but I learned so I didn't lose.
I like how you pared your biz down to a few main things and got rid of all the time consuming jobs and expensive trucks. Less is more, plus you have honed your skills on the pump and demos.

Yessir. Personal success for me is fulfillment and satisfaction. Which becomes my happiness. Small time concrete guy outta Rhode Island and business is booming this year. Only laying down 20yrds a month on eclectic dways and patios but couldn’t be happier. I was a high flying mech engineer building million dollar machines. But a few yrs ago I was burnt. Bought a skiddy one year and a mini x the next. Then went back to my roots (concreting)as the final hoo’rah. Geez, a pump would sure be nice:-)!

The simplest things in life are the most precious and there is no dollar figure you can put on it. A good afternoon just hanging out enjoying what you like is priceless.! So the only advice I have for you today now that your work day is over and it's about 12 noon isBuy lunch, go to the beach with your girls and surf. Don't flash the "Benjamins" you never know "big brother" may be watching and it's easier to grab the little guy than a big corporation.

I think everyone in the construction business has lost big money at some point. We’ve had some horrendous losses especially on big jobs with bad owners, the ones like UCLA and LA County . They don’t let you make a profit and they don’t want to pay for additional work or differing site conditions. If you spray the walls of your hopper down with a spray silicon or some wd40 you won’t get any dry concrete stuck to it or not to much
