You got a real maestro on your crew the older guy. These guys work hard and work very well. You must pay them really good for them to go all out for you.
I prefer a horsehair broom finish but that's just my preference it really doesn't matter to the worker it only matters if the homeowner or the business owner you're working for likes it you guys look like you do decent work I've been in the business for 40 years finished everything from pools to skyscrapers from dams to Bridges and I got to admit a little bit of flat work is my favorite thing to finish
Sure wish there was someone in my area that could do the job as professional as you. I started watching one video of yours and now I've watched them all. You truly are the best in the west! I congratulate you for all your jobs well done.
I used to live top of Superior and I would run down to the beach via 46 street, run on sand to Wedge and back. I believe that was a 10 miler. Just gorgeous! I miss it...
@@WestCoastCustomConcrete Actually, right where Hospital dead ends into Superior there is an old apartment complex and that's where I lived. When I'm in town, (I now live out of state, but fly "home" to visit family and friends) I like to run with friends around the Back Bay and did it just a couple of weeks ago. Southern California was having perfect weather while I was there, but now its starting to heat up. Of course, its summer! You live in the best place in the world! Nice...

I am not a concrete guy but I watch a lot of concrete videos and the one thing I noticed that west coast custom doesn't use a gravel base which is the only one's that I have noticed that doesn't use it. Not sure why but I'm curious.
That's on dirt and wood chips , rough, won't last the same as compacted stone and the stone is also drainage under the slab . Base should fall the same as the concrete .
Your boys doing a beautiful job dont get me wrong, But everytime i poured in LA I always asked these guys why tf are you both rodding INSIDE a 6ft wide slab lol
Awesome job . Do you know of any co . In the Inland Empire hiring for form setter / rod buster ? Thanks. AND HERE WE GO !! Have you ever surfed the WEDGE on epic days ?
Yo Im guessing you may already know BUT next time you at Newport Beach Stop at City Donuts by Jacks surf shop And get yo self a cronut a croissant and a doughnut in one you can thank me later They are delicious 👌
This dude says “I” so many times!!!! Easiest job in the world. Pound a few nails in the ground. Hang up some old lumber, spread out the mud an make it smooth. Then get paid thousands. EASY
Like the same day? It can happen if it's setting up way too quick or from shrinkage cracking because of having added too much water in the concrete. You always want to put enough control joints in the most likely places it will crack...but I had it crack a couple of feet away from the control joint. You don't have any control over how & when concrete will crack, or no control over what the ground below it will do.
@@WestCoastCustomConcrete Thanks Anthony. I once had a job where I told the customer that it wouldn't crack where we poured over undisturbed solid ground and would probably crack where we filled in a large area that had a natural spring...it was a driveway. The following year, it cracked where it had a solid base & no cracks where we filled in with 2 feet of material. Weird but that's concrete for you. 🤣
Your finishes are so much better with a pump, and I don't think the rest of these people on here can be done in < 1 hour. It's all about efficiency and a better quality of life. Unfortunately, I think the rest of the concrete hacks on here don't understand the message you are giving. No need to work from 6AM to 10PM every day. They think it's all about having a trowel in your hand when you clearly stated in you have a trowel in your hand it's worth $350/day, but keys to equipment gets you $2,000/day+.
@@WestCoastCustomConcrete yeah these people are a joke on here. Some people have next to no equipment besides hand tools and maybe a Georgia Buggy. Those people are just laborers that got a little ambitious. The other people have way too much equipment, and have destroyed their margins with overhead. You actually thought things out, and I'm willing to be your margins are much higher.

What pump are you using. I'm looking into adding a pump here in Michigan. Usually 200-400 max but don't want to be limited. Any suggestions?

Was that a poosay broom finish?
Middle eastern variety 😂
Too much chopping when they screed. 20 strokes and only moved 2 ft😢

Why do you guys use steel trowels instead of magnesium floats? Our crew uses floats for broomed concrete and steel trowels for smooth finishing.
