Until they learn to copy what works for the local companies in each market, they won't figure out how to drive sales of their products. But, building in-country manufacturing businesses has to be done. Depends on what you mean by "Western Media". If you are limiting your definition to US corporate media, you are correct, but Africa is not the only part of the world they overlook. Australia, Eastern Europe, most of Asia (including India) tend to be ignored as well. If you count Western Europe, then I disagree. European media (especially the BBC) does cover Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
