If your handmade jewelry has a boho, hippy or arty style to it, maybe blank backing cards are too plain for it. In one of my recent videos, I showed you how to make pretty paper earrings using my free printable designs.
In that video, the finished, packaged earrings were displayed on some hand-painted art cards I had made especially them. I wanted hand-painted cards rather than the plain, run of the mill jewelry display cards often used to package more conventional jewelry.
I felt that these more arty, hippy looking earrings needed display cards that were also more hippy in nature. So as a follow up to my video on how to make paper earrings, I am showing you how I painted these abstract art cards to display them on.
Anyone can paint these small art cards even if they aren’t artists and don’t have any artistic skills. The technique that I use is so easy that absolutely anyone can do it and get exciting, instant results.
If you follow this method of applying various paints to small cards, you will very quickly find out how much fun it is. You will be pleasantly surprised at what you can create even if you think you are hopeless at painting.

In this video, I also show you how to use the art cards that turn out to be too busy to be jewelry display cards, to make the actual paper earrings instead.

Where do you get your paper ounces for the earring shapes? Love your technique and encouragement
Hi Shelley, I got some from a local craft shop in the UK quite a few years ago. I got my small rectangular one from a company called Vassen Creative based in the Netherlands, and I got some from Amazon. Don’t know where you live but if you have any big craft stores like Michaels in the USA or Hobby Craft in the UK, you might be able to find them there. How do you clean up the back of the cards?
Hi, I paint both sides. To save time, I didn’t do both sides in this video, I just mentioned it along the way. With my last lot of cards, I flipped them over and did similar colors on the back. I have to say though, if you paint more carefully than I did, you could avoid messing up the backs. 🤪😍 It can be done! Thanks for watching and taking time to reach out. 🙏💕
