That happens a lot. A lot of games come out with bad PC ports, but then technology evolves, and the PC starts to outperform the consoles, eventually becoming the best way to play. Unless the game gets a patch/remaster on consoles like the Witcher 3 for example, playing on PC will inevitably beat playing on a console. If you are a patient guy like me that doesnt care about playing games at launch, PC will most times be the better option, since you don't have to wait for the developers to remaster/update an old game.

But then again, so games fall through the cracks in that regard, like the Arkham series for instance, which you still need a pc to get both 4k and 60fps.
I remember my gtx 970 having so many problems to run this game. Now I can see why. The graphics were way ahead of it's time. We haven't evolved much really.
to be fair the pc port was shit when it came out. one of the worst pc releases of all time the base ps4 and xbox one had pretty weak gpus be pc standards when they came out (cpus too) optimiztion certinaly helps, but we talking like HD 7790 or gtx 750/750ti performance
Wish all devs poured their hearts with details like this game. Arkham knight could have been released every year since 2015 and you would have thought it just released for the first time. One of my all time favorite games.
2015 and 2016 were the years where the graphics quality really increased and since then not many things have been improved, other than that the Rocksteady artists did a really good job, even Arkham Asylum, Arkham City and Arkham Origins look good in terms of art even if they have dated graphics , but Arkham Knight look so good it could be released today.

@@johnxiong6983 yes I agree but in 1080p you can fix this with DLDSR. I use 2.25x with 100% smoothness(which disable sharpen filter because its too sharp with it imo) on 1080p monitor and it looks much better.

i recently played batman arkham city on an ps3 emulator just to try it and i was amazed, the concept of gotham city.. not only that, i can see the amount of detail THIS game has.. like the batmobile destroying a brick column just by touching it.. thats something almost no game developer does, i mean, that attention to detail. I wish the next generation has the same level of details and changes the cape physics, but, everything else is just incredible.

@@Killer23TrZ its more than 20%. You use Batmobile to fight tanks in main quests, some side quests related to militia, Riddler's trophies and races etc. Batmobile is more or less half of game and you use it way too often.
I really hope this Series will get another Sequel. Even if the Story has declared Batman as dead. I'd love some kind of Plot Twist, where Batmans unmasking was just another Side Effect of Scaregrows Gas and it actually never happened. Just like what happened to Wayne Manor. So that Scarecrow and all the other Villains got locked up and Batman finds himself on the Rooftop inside the Bat Wing and then waking up out of the Trance of the Gas and then realising everything he'd done was real. Accept his unmasking.
This game still looks phenomenal on base consoles today. Just started replaying all of them and I’ve been taking my time with knight. No wonder I don’t get into newer video games
Mine doesn't look good on my ps5. The game only runs at 900p and displaying 900p on a 4k screen looks terrible. Mine looks graining and like somebody poured salt on every object in the game

It's the lack of temporal anti aliasing. Even at native 4k, it still has shimmering everywhere because it's using old AA like fxaa and msaa which cannot deal with shimmering
even this game is a bit old now it never fails on the graphics and combat and is always the "KING" of physics, I don't like gotham knights looks garbage.

When it release it looked good but now when you play it. It's looks like outdated game. Same was with the witcher 3 I thought it was good with mods now that I have played the upgraded version I cant even play the prior version anymore it looks outdated in every sense.

Playstation version makes the PC version look like a cartoon. Playstation version has global illumination color grading. Which means every building takes on the bounce light color of every light in the game world. Playstation version looks photo realistic PC looks like a cartoon. Playstation version has better textures better particle effects better overall atmospherics better reflections better weather effects. Plus the different suits on the PlayStation version have better texture detail and higher polygon counts. Also when Batman beats on thugs they show blood coming from wounds Batman gave them, PC version doesn't have that. Also Batman's cape has different physics applied to it depending what situation Batman finds himself in or the different suit he has on. for instance if a helicopter is flying near Batman his cape will blow wildly. on the PC version the cape blows the same way no matter if wind is present or not complete 🗑️
The PlayStation version with adjustments to the brightness does look way superior to the PC version. The global illumination in the PlayStation version is quite insane. To me this is the best looking multiplat of all time. The PlayStation version that is, Something like Bloodborne looks better though

Unreal engine 3 was a massive step up from Unreal engine 2. Funny how this game the engine share a similar story, both ahead of their time.

I use a RX 6650XT gpu with an i7 4770, runs at max at 4k 45/50 fps, and yes, it still holds up very good
