I'm an 81 year old man yours is the 26th video I've watched on this song and I cry every time and everyone of the videos I've watched the reaction is the same. Good relationship or a bad relationship with your father this song hits every nail on the head. Take care
Dude your breaking my heart ,don't EVER say sorry for showing your vulnerability, James is showing his I watched 50,000 people at the MEN arena cry when he sang this ,be strong, chin up ,much love
This is a really hard song to react to for a LOT of us. Whether your a son or a father or anyone who has lost a parent. At 62 years old, I had a good cry during this whole song. It is a masterpiece of a song. Thanks for sharing.
I’m so sorry you lost your dad at such a young age. I lost mine three years ago. Your honesty and vulnerability in the moment are not weaknesses. They are evidence of your humanity. I send a hug through the ether and hope your memories make you smile today and always.
I didn't cry at the news of my brother's death or his funeral, I suppose I was numb but by pure chance I found this song after and in my room I suddenly had the floodgates open as the emotions of the song got to me
His dad had stage 4 kidney failure when James wrote this and a donor couldn't be found. After the video was released a distant cousin came forward who was a match. He donated all the profits from this song to Help For Hero's a UK veterans charity (both him and his dad were in the military)
Your reaction is the most genuine and most beautiful I've witnessed to this beautiful song. Much love and respect to you. Your Dad would be proud of you. Kia kaha in my language means, stay strong.
Let it out son, This one broke me as well. The first time I heard it I got in the car and drove for an hour just to hug my mum and tell her I love her. I'm 45 fyi.
NEVER be sorry for being vulnerable/emotional! That’s human EMOTIONS! Don’t fall for that macho men BS about not showing emotions/tears and holding stuff in! I promise this song would make 90+% of ppl who see it tear up to ball! I sure AF did and am in early 40s with dad in early 70s! Keep your head up big guy!
Brother, don’t you EVER be ashamed of, or apologize for, your emotions! NEVER EVER!!! You are real and genuine and YOU! Never change that!! Your brother must be proud of you!
I heard that James donated every penny of the proceeds from this amazing song to the 'Help For Heroes' charity here in the UK, who do such fantastic work supporting our ex-servicemen and servicewomen. As a former Commander in the British military himself, it was an amazing thing to do and God bless him for that. James' dad had only recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 Kidney failure and wasn't expected to survive unless a suitable donor was found, which thankfully, one was eventually.
this song is really touching for those who lost their fathers...including me....Be strong. be tough..Fathers are still in our hearts with thousand memories.❤❤❤
I lost my brother 2 yrs. ago. He was 49 years old and died of a massive heart attack. I was so mad! I have cancer and have had it for 18 years and I will turn 60 this July, good Lord willing. I was mad because he had so much to live for, was the caretaker of our parents and I have been wishing to end this cancer journey for at least the past 5 years. I miss him so much and it breaks my heart to hear my mom sobbing on the phone after losing her "baby" and only son. This song just opens the flood gates for me, I cry every single time I see it so don't be ashamed. A brother is a special thing in life, and I can totally feel what you feel. Thanks for such an honest reaction. Feelings are a good thing!
James broke us ALL with that one! I am a 53 year old Black, Caribbean, father of four, two grown, two still at home. Never had the benefit of a father myself, but I can proudly say that I have been a GOOD one! Every time I hear this song, reaction video or not, I bawl like a child! You are good bruh..
Ive heard this song for the first time sung by Iam Tongi one of the American Idol contestants. In his audition this year. Every reactions from a variety of artists show emotional and heartwarming reactions towards Tongi. And now James Hunt pops up for the first time singing his song its so touching and emotional too but the way Iam Tongi sang it. Its so gentle and soothing it touches so many of us. Make us cry everytime. And thank your for this video and for showing your emotional and heartfelt reaction. God bless you.❤😊
Don't ever apologise for what your feeling are. They're real and there's nothing to apologise for. Sorry for your loss. I know whoever watches this reaction will be supportive. Good luck mate.
I lost my brother 15 months ago, and its hurts every day... I listen to this song daily as it helps me to process that event, it stops me building things up and its helped me begin to live more with the emphasis from the song of making him proud of everything I do here on. Much love.
Your reaction was genuine and showed a very tender hearted side of you. No need to be any kind of shy about having shown your feelings about this song. It hits a cord in anyone who has lost a loved one. I lost my dad in an auto accident when I was just a little kid. To this day I see him in his casket. He was only 26 or 27 years old. Blunt's tribute to his father when he thought he was dying is beautiful. Not every Dad gets shown that much love before they die. Blessings to you...... Peace out.
Sweet boy. You’ve broken my heart. I can promise you that your dad is watching and is so proud of you. It takes bravery and courage to be so honest and vulnerable. You’re amazing and loved ❤
I subscribed for you and your brother. I finally grieved for my dad who died from Alzheimer's. He just forgot how to breathe. It's been two years and I finally grieved. Cried all all day.
I'm 59 I've watched all the reviews..I cannot EVER get through this song...but to your credit your reaction was the most authentic....I wish I could say it gets easier..the pain just stings a little less as time goes by
What a wonderful guy , I'm sure we all of us feel the same way . For anyone who has lost a parent or a loved one , this song hits you hard immediately, one minute you're listening, the next minute you're weeping 😭😭😭
My father beat my mother, my second father beat me, my third father broke my mother’s spirit, and my fourth father was unable to show any emotion. It’s a wonder that I grew up to love my children unconditionally.
My dad past when he was 89 years old,i was 49. Im heading for 56 now and i still weap his passing. This song was really tough when i heard it first. Still brings a tear to my eye but i absolutely love this song.
I am a 59yr old lady and also cry every time. I just say thanks to our maker that he created me with feelings and compassion for others. God is good. thank you for everything
Oh mate, I had to comment. I lost my mum and dad within 18 months of each other in recent years, but I lost my younger brother 20 years before that. My parents' death killed me, but we kinda know that's coming and are wired in a way to get through that, but losing a sibling before their time just leaves scars that don't heal....I need to keep my memories of him in a mental box to keep going. This song is hard and painful, but I think it's healing because it makes you cry even if you try not and releasing pain is good. Hugs to you
More than any other reactor to this song, you understood every nuance....every meaning....and even noticed/reacted to the touch of the arm etc.....you are years ahead of your time....not only a heartfelt reaction, but also by emotional intelligence....well done to you mate.
This song always always gets me but your reaction broke me. You are way way too young to have had to experience something that makes you be able to relate to the song in the way that you do. Blessed be young man may God be with you.
After the conclusion of this video the only person with dry eyes was Charles Blount. He asked why is everyone crying? I'm still here! I have watched it many times, never without tears. It was tougher this time as I felt your pain! Do not apologize for reacting to someone in pain!
My dad passed away suddenly down the coal mine 48 years ago when I was 16. I completely shut down my emotions as I thought I had to be strong for my young brother and mum. I know now, many years later, that it wasn't the right thing to do and even now certain little things bring back memories. Don't be afraid to show your emotions, it's not good for your own well being to bottle them up. Keep your chin up and think of all the good times you had together as these will help you get through 🙏🙏
I wish I could give you a hug @the reactor. My heart breaks for you and how much the loss of your father at such a young age. Sending you all love!!! I feel for all boys, and grown men who long to feel their dads love - it just hurts my heart and I’m a mother of 3 boys and I’ve seen it too many times boys being hurt from a father 😪😪😪😪😪😪 I know this is a song of love but I just had to acknowledge all the boys and grown men still aching for their fathers to be proud of them and show them love.
I’ve probably watched over 30 reaction videos for Monster. I’m yet to see someone not crying. This has to be the most emotional song anyone has written since the beginning of music.
Having lost my grand mother, mother and aunt and never knowing my father I know pain beyond this song. I’m proud that James blunt could touch your heart the way he has. But know this young man your pain is shared by many and young tears don’t fall on empty hearts. I’m am an only son of great women who raised me and passed on as your father did. There are no tears in heaven so you don’t need to cry for them here. They are proud of you and all that you have accomplished as am I. I know you miss who every had passed from your life but I am here to spread my loving arms around you and say I am as many are glad that you are here to share your pain with us. As we share our comfort with love to you and all who remain here. Sincerely yours with Love Robert Lee Moore USA
James dad was actually dying from kidney disease & this was his tribute & farewell to his dad. Thankfully his dad received a donor kidney & is doing okay now. If this song doesn't get to you emotionally, there is something wrong with you. This song resonates with me as I was my dad's caregiver for 5 years until he passed away 2 years ago.
There is nothing more powerful than love for each other. It is like DImash says in his new video , "One Sky", it doesn't matter what culture, faith, or race you come from...love is the path to peace; not hate.
Kudos to you ..your courage matches James'. This is not a performance but a shared, lived experience. James Blunt is genius and open to sharing his story which draws us in, pierces our soul and gives us permission to share ours. It is both painful and healing. So grateful for his presence and generosity.
What a heartfelt reaction, no need to apologize for honest feelings. I lost my brother also when I was 10 yrs old and still tfying to say deal with my feelings about it, and his death was 50 yrs ago.
Been 20 years since my dad passed away and it never gets easier, Just learnt to live with it and think of all the positive and good times I had, Never apologise for how you feel pal.

This is true. This song cuts and hurts. Everyone everytime.
Dude your breaking my heart ,don't EVER say sorry for showing your vulnerability, James is showing his I watched 50,000 people at the MEN arena cry when he sang this ,be strong, chin up ,much love
Well Said Kirk

I lost mine at 50, and I’m am still gutted. So, young man, I am so sorry for your loss.
I’m so sorry you lost your dad at such a young age. I lost mine three years ago. Your honesty and vulnerability in the moment are not weaknesses. They are evidence of your humanity. I send a hug through the ether and hope your memories make you smile today and always.
