Strap in cause this one's a doozy.
I animated Spooky Scary Skeletons in 2018 around the time that I started creating animation memes. It wasnt a meme, but a passion project that I did for funsies to celebrate my birthday and halloween.
I had around 1k subscribers when I posted that video.
I had NO IDEA that it would become one of my most popular videos to this day. Sitting at over 2 million views. I'm still in awe.
I started working on this sequel in 2019, i wanted to show how far I had come as an artist and also pay tribute to the original that had gotten my channel so far. But I couldn't finish it.
So i tried again in 2020........
and finally finished it in 2021.
The majority of this animation is new work, but the animatic is 2 years old, as well as some of the scenes. It's been in the works for a while and I'm so happy and proud to have finally finished it. I've been working the past 3 weeks nonstop on this.
I know this hasn't been the best year for animations for me. I noticed, you noticed, everyone noticed. The (global disaster) has not been nice to me or my motivation. I stopped loving animation like I used to. The last animation I've created that I've been genuinely proud of was Pretty Cvnt and that was almost a year ago. I stopped making memes just to make memes and i waited for my spark to come back.
I've finally made something this year that I'm very proud of, and LOVED making. I hope you love it too. I'm sorry I've been absent, and I havent put in my all, I'm doing everything I can to love myself and my work again.

I started working on it last year 2020, but could not finish it in time :") and so this year I thought I might try again but seeing how my finals line up I may miss this year as well. I was honestly starting to get discouraged, but after watching this and reading your description, and seeing how hilariously simular it was to my situation you've really inspired to keep on going.

I know the pain of animating sometimes, animation really takes time and motivation isn’t infinite! Please don’t stress yourself out Roxxie, maybe in your eyes you may not be proud of the animation, it’s mostly because you are improving! These few years were not kind to most of us here! Honestly, this animation stunned me, it’s absolutely fantastic, and I know very well that you’ll keep impressing both yourself and everyone who watches!

notice how there was only 1 death sound, meaning one of them remained alive, possibly the murderer since their heart was halfway intact, or it could've been the sans representation since the knife if lethal would've instantly killed the attackee, but irl knives arent usually able to penetrate the skull especially in such a size difference, since force generated vs skull thiccness ratio difference is high, thus its likely to be the sans representation that has survived.

i dont comment often but i love every bit of work you do, and can understand with the state the world is in how it can weigh on a person and burn them out. you come back when youre ready, and know your fans will be waiting for you! you come first, and if you aren't feeling it right now that's totally fine. rest, recoup, and do what you love until youre happy again.

Having read the description, I'm glad you've tried to recover instead of pushing yourself further into burnout. It's been stressful for many folks; try to not be too hard on yourself.
This looks great! In particular, that 3D-ish pivot of camera perspective stood out, alongside the general liveliness (fur, expressive lip-sync, etc).
Incidentally, some of your animations and characters have helped inspire me (a person with very little animation experience) to take up Blender's Grease Pencil and just.. have fun creating simple things as I figure out my own emotions. Thank you for sharing what you've made over the years, both elaborate and straightforward stuff.

This is so criminally good i wanna cry oufff, that turnaround bit and the slowmo. I think its clear to everyone you put everything you had into this animation, and though i dont have much to add that doesnt sound like what everyone else has already said, im glad you found the passion to animate again
You.... you've really outdone yourself on this one! Like, wow! Slow motion in animation can be tricky an you pulled it off real well, those slow motion matrix like pans are just so cool! An the animation is just *sooo* *smooth* an the emotion was conveyed clearly, lip sync right on the dot. You can definitely tell you took your time on this an I'm glad you were able to finish this beast because- goodness I think I've re-watched this a dozen times by now? An still keep seeing details that I missed!

Read through your description, for starters. But this was a very fun animation that holds a lot of personality in the two characters. I want to go into animation myself, and I enjoyed your animations, whether you think were good or not, everybody improves in their artworks with every piece they do. This is GENUINELY AMAZING. I LOVE THIS SO VERY MUCH. You are for sure one of my favourite animation artists ever, actually, just in general one of my favourite artists, period. I really like the angle changes and the fact that rather than just straight cutting to the next angle you actually animated them turning,, that was really cool!! Stuff like that always takes a lot of patience

You should only make content when you want/ when you are ready and not over-push yourself to a point where you don’t enjoy making art. It's so great that you have found the energy to make this and hope you'll find your love for animating once again. It's really great to see all of your work and how far you've come. This whole past time has not been great and as a artist myself I too struggled with motivation and the actual will to produce something that I oh so dearly loved before all of this, I still need to get into that mindset again, but I'm getting there (I still need to finish a comic lol). the timing is so perfect and the slowmo frame by frame parts of the animation are so smooth and pleasing to look at
