    This has been a REALLY great series so far!! Your step by step instructions have been a big help as I can speed over parts I know and go slower over the parts I need to focus on. One note in this particular video: I think you had us setup the CM_ContentSource drive in a previous video, so I just mapped a drive to that one as space on my drive is limited. Keep up the great work!

    i have a host with 500gb SSD and 500gb HDD
    on the SSD i have already Hyper-v with DC, 2 Exchange Servers + Witness, a W10 domain joined client and newly created CM01.
    That leaves me 100gb free to create the additional drives for CM but i reckon it wouldnt be enough even with File Share for repository on the HDD.
    Without doubt i would place the ConfigMgr Log Files (drive I:\) on the HDD, but which other drives "can" reside on the slower HDD?
    Thanks!

      @@TekNexSolutions I have. Not know that scripts is sucessfully run or not because first it's cmd screen and they show in red color and to I have check it stuck at 24 percent and the force stop so I think it's may be error and the command you have share that we can check in my case only 13 features install and when I check on gui it's some pending like bits or etc so I have because I have prepare notes to step by step installation for future reference

    Jay, what kind of share and security rights need to be setup on any of these drives that are created? Do you have to manually set those or does the MECM install do that for you? Just wondering what's best practice as I ran into permissions issues according to the logs after I did my first install. I have since wiped it all, and am starting again. Thanks for any advice on this.

      Hi Latiron
      There is no special NTFS/share permissions required for the attached VHDs. Just ensure the account you are running the installation has enough permissions to write on those drives. I copied the domain Administrator user permissions to create a new account, CMAdmin, to run the installation without issues.

    Hi Jay, is there any downside to storing VDHs in one drive? I can see you stored your VHDs on different drives. I am storing all on my C: drive

    • @TekNexSolutions
      @TekNexSolutions  4 роки тому +2

      There is a downside.
      VHDs on the same drive will have set amount of IO, which is restrictive by that single drive. Which eventually will cause performance issues.
      However, it is a good practice to learn storing specific applications data on the different drives instead of keeping everything default.
      This also means you know where you are storing all your data, and makes it easier to do backups and data recovery if needed.
