  • Hey friends,
It’s been a while since I put heat on my hair, so I decided to press it straight! Of course I am using the NEW iONIC PLUS from TYMO. This straightening brush is a lot bigger but still light weight, I love the the bristles are thicker so I can part bigger sections which ultimate take less time! I like my new straightener!

Back when my hair was relaxed, I used a straightening brush every week. It's so much faster than flat ironing and the results are bomb. I've found that with natural hair that it doesn't get as close to the roots as I like. But I'll usually use a flat iron for my initial press and use the straightening brush if I need to do any touch ups later on.

I ordered one after watching Fine Nstural Faith’s review. I’ve only used it once but was genuinely impressed. I used with Tymo’s heat protector. I don’t straighten often but I have faith this tool won’t break my fine strands.

I have used it twice now and still can't seem to get the ends straight. The first time I did only under. The second time I seen your first video and seen that you did under and then over and it was the same thing. The ends come out staticky and I have to pin curl every night to smooth. My ends don't need trimming because I trim every 2 to 3 months. I even did the chase method the second time. But the roots to a few inches from my ends are smooth and it feels straightened and too most people it doesn't look bad but the ends be giving a little more than kinky straight. It's definitely smoother than just a blow out with a blow dryer though. I don't feel the tension is enough once it gets to the ends 💯

I have used a straightening brush before but I am not a huge fan of them because you can’t clean it. I threw mines out because I couldn’t clean it and it was stinking because of hair and product stuck in there. I did go on Amazon to read out this brush. The features about it is great but if I was to purchase this, I would use it once in a blue moon. Great results Aleia. 😊

You actually can clean it, although it's a bit tedious to do. You just use rubbing alcohol. I usually dampen a cloth with some rubbing alcohol to wipe down the handle and all the edges, and then use q-tips lightly dipped in the alcohol to get between all the teeth. Always make sure the brush is UNPLUGGED and COOLED DOWN when cleaning and make sure to give it plenty of time for the alcohol to evaporate before using the brush again (I'd say at least an hour for safety). I try to clean mine after every time I use it because it's much easier to keep it clean regularly than to have deep clean it after several uses (speaking from experience lol)

What @rockpaperskizzers said! I do the same thing to keep it clean after having to throw away my regular degular Babyliss Bro Titanium flat iron a fee years ago from the sides of it looking rusty, dusty, and musty from burning hair products on it and not keeping up with cleaning it like I had when I first got it. 😮😂 😅 🤷🏽‍♀️ Lesson learned
