- This is me playing Nightrain by Guns N' Roses. This version is based on Live Era Version. This is line recording, and this guitar is Gibson Les Paul Standard 1987 with Seymour Duncan APH-1 pickups. Almost 10 years later came back at this video that remember i saw when i was in middle school. It took me 10 minutes to find it, and i still remember the goosebumps when i heard this cover back then.

I can't play the guitar, but the way this fella plays just sounds excellent to me. I obviously love Guns, and seen lots of covers by different people on YT, but I keep coming back to this fella. Great energy, and sounds so much like Slash, in my opinion.

Thank you for your comment. I have 6 Les Paul Standards now and 4 of those have Alnico II Pros. 2 others have Gibson 57 classic pickups. The 2 are cherry sunburst one and black one(I've never used this one in my videos)
Thank you for your comment. I think that the most important thing to get good at playing the guitar is to play everyday even if the time is very short. It's better than 4 hours in a day. That's my opinion.

Thank you for your comment. I think that APH-1 is very nice, mild-toned pickups. It's wroth to replace from original, but the change of sound is not so big if you use Gibson 57 Classic now. 57 Classic has just a little more power than APH-1. But you can make same tone using amp or pedals well. That's my opinion.

@DennChooch the band was missing since Izzy Stradlin left them. Izzy was the principal composer but people maybe don't know ... Appetite for Destruction is his best album and here are the Real Guns Fucking Roses, with the drummer Steven Adler who has left the band for his addictions, anyway I love his drums playing in this album. All were young and maybe they couldn't support the long tours and fame.
well it depends on which context its been sayed, drop D usually means standard tuning with the low E dropped down to a D, and a half step down usually means to downtune all ur strings half a step

I forgot about this backing tracks because I made this 1 or 2 years ago. But I always use Gibson Les Paul Special with P-100 humbakers or Fender Japan Telecaster on rhythm guitar.

Slash uses 2466 in it.
Jubilee was not used in Appetite For Destruction album. Jubilee was made in 1987, and the album was made in 1986. He used the amp named #36, a special modified Marshall 1959 Super Lead, rented from S.I.R. in the production of AFD album. UYI albums were recorded with Silver Jubilee amp.

The easy way to find who play what part is listening the live album "Live Era". In "Live Era", Izzy and Gilby part is on left channel, and Slash part is right channel. In this video, I did same thing. So, the sound from right speaker is what I played this time as same as Slash.

Thank you for your comment. This video is line recording so I didn't use DSL 401. And DSL 401 doesn't suit for Slash like sound. This is why I posted the Slash tone by DSL movie. I recommend you Vintage Modern Combo instead of DSL.

No no no. The amp I said is the model named "Vintage Modern" now Slash using with JCM SLASH. Vintage Modern is really good amp. If you can ring it with big sound, I recommend you the 100watt stack, Vintage Modern 2466. But there is also 50watt combo in Vitage Modern line up. You can see some movies on UA-cam that Slash himself teaches his play, and he uses 2466 in the video.

If so, it's my intentional thing and not out of tune. This is an important point of Slash's play. When he rings open D chord, he also rings open A string and it makes special sound.
